The place was great. your pool area is one of the best places of all time. We loved it up there. Linda was awesome. She is a great host and really made the trip very easy. The airport pickup and drop off was really a nice feature. My wife and I were huge fans of Lala who hung out in our condo with us a lot. We are huge dog people so it was great having her around. I was concerned about it being easter weekend and the crowds when we orignally went, but actually that made the trip. Every person we met was so nice to us on the beach and seemed happy we were in the for a visit.

¡Excelente lugar!.

We happened to come across CSH on a random B&B site, and boy are we lucky to have found it! We went there for our 2nd anniversary & had an AMAZING time. The loft: Beautifully furnished, comfortable, fairly private. Has a breezy, open-air feeling. Lots of natural light. No AC, but it's not needed. The breeze was wonderful- kept us quite cool. Large closet. Clean drinking water dispenser. W&D (BYO detergent). TV w/ many channels (Span. & Eng.). Pool is refreshing after a long day at the beach. Patio is great for romantic dinners. Private garage if you rent a car (we recommend that you do). The place is just awesome! The view: The best part about this place is the view- to get to CSH, you drive up a long, cobble-stone road on a hill overlooking the ocean, so the view is just spectacular. The bed faces a wall completely made of windows, so you wake up and fall asleep to the sights & sounds of the ocean! The patio, pool, and extra large shower all have the same view as well. The area: We loved the Santiago/Manzanillo area. Very beautiful & safe. It seemed like a lot of Mexican families went there for vacation- we only saw a handful of gringos. We recommend you brush up on your Spanish- don't expect everyone to know English. Lots of great beaches and food. The owners: Correspondence/transactions were smooth & prompt. Ayelet was visiting her mom when we arrived, so we had the chance to meet her in person- such a sweet lady! Her mother Linda is great too. They both were very helpful & hospitable to us. Tips: - If you're looking for an extremely secluded, luxurious hideaway where you'll be waited on hand & foot, this isn't what you're looking for. But if you are like us & want a romantic, comfortable place to stay while experiencing a more authentic, adventurous part of Mexico without falling into the "tourist trap", this place is perfect for you! - Roosters crow & dogs bark very early in the a.m. This is just part of life there & really isn't a big deal, but we do suggest that you bring ear plugs, especially if you're a light sleeper. This did NOT take away from our trip in any way, but it's just a tip for potential renters. - It's an absolute MUST that you get Sra. Linda to cook for you- so delicious! At the end of our trip, I cried a bit. We did NOT want to leave this incredible area of Mexico & this wonderful place to relax & create unforgettable memories. Recommended for people seeking adventure & romance and for lovers of nature & culture!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Casita in May, 2010. Linda, the owners mother, was a wonderful hostess and cook- we utilized her talents for quite a few meals. The apartment was comfortable and airy, very relaxing and easy to stay in. Manzanillo is a short car ride away and houses all of the conveniences a traveler would need. The highlight of the property is the private pool adjacent to the loft. We loved being able to enjoy a swim at our leisure!

When my wife and I booked a stay at this facility for 3/16/10 to 4/16/10 the website (and guest comments) mentioned that the pool was private. The pool was not private. It is a very small pool and It was used by two other families, one of which had two small children. The website wants you to forget the "traffic, noise, and neighbors" by renting this condo. Since the route to the parking lot for the other tenants/owners passes between the pool and condo via a long stairway, there was no chance to avoid the neighbors, pedestrian traffic, and the noise. I would be remiss if I failed to mention the two wonderful dogs belonging to the owner. They managed to bark day and night without the display of any concern whatsoever by their owners. All in all, the noise, pedestrian traffic, and barking dogs and what can only be described as a "community pool" caused us to pack up and leave four days early. My wife and I have spent three months in Mexico every winter for the past six years, staying in many different residential facilities. I have to say, we would not return to this one if it was free.
Owner response:We deeply regret that these guests did not enjoy their stay, regardless of the reasons. However we must say that we were quite surprised as they stayed for close to a month and we never received a single message from them that something was not right. We pride ourselves of being responsive hosts and we always respond immediately to any concerns of our guests (as demonstrated by the other reviews). We did learn, afterwards, something new. This was the first time we rented our place through an agent and apparently the agent also had problems with our guests, her clients. This is evidenced by this email we received from the agent (excerpt): "Actually, [renter] has been very rude to me through emails, etc. [Renter] was upset that I gave the deposit to you, the owner, and it was up to your Mom to do the final walk-through before you mailed back the refund. [Renter] accused me of a "shell game" what ever that means. I don't really know whats going on." We were pleased to find they left the apartment in great condition and as such we mailed their full refund the day after we received the mailing address (we did not have any personal information due to the agent involvement). With regards to the content of their complaint, apparently they missed the description of the pool as a "shared pool with one more unit", as described in this website. The "one more unit" is where my 67-year old Mom lives, by herself, who also manages the condo. The other "family" they refer to was my brother (with wife and two children) who stayed for a few days and used the pool a total of 3 days, out of the almost 30 these guests stayed on our unit. Finally, with regards to dogs, there are 2 dogs on the premises, as well as dogs in the neighborhood in general. Dogs do bark, ours as well as neighbors', and our listing is listed as "pet friendly" for the same reason. We recently reached out to these guests to see if we could compensate them somehow and resolve this matter satisfactorily for both of us but we have not heard from them yet. Our pledge is to make our guest's stays with us as memorable and enjoyable as possible so we ask that guests please reach out to us if anything is not meeting or exceeding their expectations to make any and all necessary adjustments. Sincerely, Casitas Santiago Hills

The ocean view from the property was absolutely gorgeous. The sea breeze kept the living quarters temperature very desirable. The ability to bring along my two small Chihuahuas made this trip well worth while. There was plenty of space, sitting areas and a well equipped kitchen. The private swimming pool was also a plus. All in all, we had a great time.

We had the pleasure of visiting the loft for 10 nights in November 2009. We were totally satisfied with out visit. We've been on many Mexico vacations in the past and found the accommodations at the loft the best every. It was new, clean and everything worked well! The view was incredible. And, it had a private pool just for us! The owner's mother and brother's family live on the property and were most helpful. Erantzeri, the brother, stepped up big time when the cable television had a problem, and had the company fix it in no time. He and his family were delightful and so friendly. We even ended up going out to eat with them multiple times. Hermelinda, the owner's mother, was amazing. First, she picked us up at the airport, then she cooked dinner for us most nights (the food was authentic and outstanding), she speaks English every well, and she also graciously insisted we use her car whenever we had a need. I expected to take taxis but Hermelinda insisted otherwise. We really enjoyed her. Manzanillo is less busy than other tourist destinations. It is quiet by comparison to Cancun and Cabo, and had a more authentic Mexican feel. For those wanting to feel Ameicanized there is a Starbucks, Dairy Queen, etc. close by, though most of the area is original Mexico. Finally, the owner, Ayelet, was a pleasure to work with. She provided quick responses to our questions or needs and seemed genuinely concerned about our well being. We didn't get to meet her personally but knowing her family and how she treated us from a business sense I sure she's a great person too. We very much enjoyed our stay, the friendly hospitality, the great accommodations, and the less busy tourism features of Manzanillo. We certainly would encourage you to visit. This condo is absolutely wonderful. My wife and I have traveled the world and have very high expectations for our accommodations. This condo did not disappoint. First of all, the weather in Manzanillo is excellent and consistent and the photos don’t do justice to the breathtaking view. The utopian atmosphere was only part of what was so great; the friendly owners ensured we had everything that we needed to make our stay enjoyable and memorable. We felt very safe, comfortable, and at home. There is no other place in Manzanillo that would have provided a better vacation than this one

Welcome to paradise in Santiago Hills, Mexico. We have vacationed in Mexico for 15 years, 2 or 3 times a year, always staying at all-inclusive resorts in various spots in Mexico. The Manzanillo area has always been our favourite. As we plan to spend more time here once we retire, for the first time, we chose to "fend for ourselves" instead of the usual all-inclusive. We have been at the "loft" for a week and still 3 weeks to go - we could stay here forever...... The apartment is even more beautiful than the photos on the website. Large and spacious with breathtaking views of the ocean from every room - including the shower!!! When we wake up in the morning and sit up in bed, we can see the ocean view.. With the large open plan and windows everywhere, it is almost like living outdoors. We can see the sunrise and the sunset - always marvelous sunsets here.... Up on the hill, the loft allows us to see for miles - over the Las Hadas area to Manzanillo itself. Our Spanish is limited, but everyone here is friendly and more than willing to help out a stranger. The town market (veggies, fruit, fish, whatever else we want) is just a 15 minute walk away, not to mention the short walk to the beach where there is great swimming, local restaurants and bars, and we can walk the beach for miles. In addition to the many conveniences here (washer, dryer, private pool), the most enjoyable part of our visit so far, has been to meet and enjoy the company of Linda - the owner who lives in her house below the loft. She has shown me places to shop, to buy fruit, veggies and tortillas "hot" from the tortilla making machine. Today we visited a bakery that Linda said "makes the best bread in the world" and having tasted it - we must agree. There is a Wal-Mart nearby for those who want to feel like they are still at home, but we like to shop and enjoy the same restaurants as the local people...... Can't say enough positive things about the "loft". We have been to many 5-star resorts in Mexico, but this is by far our best vacation find.... This area has computerized weather - sunny and bright every day - and up in the "loft" the night and early morning breezes are so refreshing. We would highly recommend the "loft" to anyone who wants to experience a true taste of Mexico. We will be back next year to escape our Canadian winters - but we will stay longer next time. Sincerely, Richard and Bev Henderson Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

Javier and I are doing fantastic but a little blue, it was just soo relaxing that we didn't want to come back! Manzanillo is truly paradise and I hope to visit again. The loft is everything I expected and more. The pictures do not justify the beauty that you see there and the waves you hear at night! Please say hello to your mom for us. She was awesome! People like that are hard to come by now a days. I am truly grateful that we met her. We hope you and your family are doing well. Have a great Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays!

You cannot beat the views and sunsets in this amazing property (almost from any window and from the pool). It definitely has one of the best views as the property is located on the top of a hill. Nicely decorated.
