This condo is in the perfect San Diego location- right in the middle of the Gaslamp, just a couple of blocks waterfront and seaport village. The trolley stop to old Town, etc, is also only steps away. Coronado is a short 15 minute ride by car or ferry. There are three apartments at the Proto- upstairs, downstairs, and front. We stayed in the two bedroom, two bath front apartment. The condo was very comfortable and we had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, and we enjoyed having a living room to converse and watch movies on the flat screen tv. The condo is very nicely appointed and we appreciated that the owner provided us a good start with coffee, kitchen items and other basics. The owner, Ira, is easy to reach with any questions. The condo is first level and right on the street corner so you can see shadows of people passing by at night from the living room, but we did not hear any noise at night in the bedrooms, and did not feel privacy was an issue. The condo looks like a closed dry cleaners from the street, but you will be pleasantly surprised when you open the doors. A modern city retreat awaits you on the inside. We will definitely return.

These condos could not be in a better area. Unlike all of the surrounding buildings, these units actually have their own outdoor patios and on-site parking! The gamlamp is within walking distance. Ira couldnt be easier to work with. Cant wait to stay again! Made for a grrreat girls weekend!!

I concur with all the positive reviews and can only add that we would not consider staying anywhere else when in San Diego. I happened to love the enclosed patio. I'm an early riser so not to wake my family, I would grab my coffee and laptop and head downstairs to the patio for a couple of quiet hours. My daughter and her friend (18 & 19) enjoyed hours upon hours walking through the gaslamp area, never running out of restaurants or shops to visit. My husband and I loved the convenience of parking (FREE!) mere steps from the entrance to the unit. All in all it was a wonderful trip and in great part due to Ira's very hospitable accomodations.

This condo is centrally located in downtown San Diego with easy access to many attractions. The property is a converted business, so it's a unique cosmopolitan experience. But best of all, Ira is a gracious and helpful host. He was always available and happy to answer any questions or concerns that we had, both before and during our stay. Great experience!

Ira made our stay the best, the loft is outfitted nicely and the location is perfect for visiting the Gaslamp and for convention travelers you are only a short block and a half walk away the the center. Petco park is also a short walk, and if you are just to tired hop on a pedicab and they will take you home!

What a great spot to stay at! Its a converted building, so there are a couple of quirky things. The patio area being an ex-parking lot with some fencing put up on top of it is one. But functionally it does well and frankly adds to its charm. The unit itself is reasonably well appointed and decorated. Nice wood laminate flooring throughout etc. But what this place really provides is an incredibly close location to pretty much anything you would want in the gaslamp. And the fact that its a block away from all the traffic of 4th ave, yet is only a block away from all the traffic of 4th ave...gives you the best of both worlds! Entry is done via an electronic code the owner customizes for you to make remembering easy. (He made mine the last 4 digits of my phone number.) So checking in was simply a quick punching of my code at the door and I was in there. The parking situation was a little confusing. There are several spots in front of the building for use...all with differing signs threatening tow away. So you may want to be crystal clear as to which one you should use as it could get ugly if you chose unwisely. The inernet connection was simple (using the enclosed instructions provided by the owner) and I never had any drops or issues. The router is in the unit itself now...so no waiting for someone to reset it or anything silly like that as I saw in someones earlier review. And finally, Ira (the owner) couldnt be easier to deal with. He answered any questions or concerns I had right away (although I didnt have much of either) and was very easy going. His rental agreement seemed very un-Ira like...as it had lots of threatening language in it in case of smoking or loud noise. But I'm guessing thats simply there for the few idiots who dont know how to act. We werent exactly quiet and definitely smoked on the patio with the large front door open (per Ira's recommendation) and had no issue. I would definitely rent this place again and anything else Ira has! What a great tme!

We rented both the upstairs and downstairs lofts for the weekend of the Farmers Open at Torrey Pines. The location can't be beat. Easy to walk to the Gaslamp bars and restaurants and a quick cab ride to anywhere else you want to go. The lofts have everything you need for a getaway and are much more comfortable than a hotel stay. We had six in each unit and as long as privacy isn't an issue, you'll definitely find it to be a great stay. Ira has thought of pretty much everything and is a great guy to work with.

I stayed at this loft apartment with a group of friends, and it was really perfect for us. There isn't a ton of privacy because it is a loft style apartment, but it was perfect for what we needed. There are curtains dividing the sleeping areas from the living areas, and I would suggest this for a family or a group of friends that don't mind not having walls : ) The location is perfect. We could walk to the Ralph's grocery store and the international market. Lots of wonderful restaurants and bars are just a couple blocks over. I really enjoyed staying in this area. I think for the price of this loft, it is the best bet for this area of town. Also, Ira is very hospitable and is a great person to rent from! I highly recommend this apartment.

We travelled to San Diego for a wedding during Labor Day Weekend. We knew hotels were going to be way too expensive and eating out every night just didn't seem affordable, so this loft was perfect! We arrived on Friday morning and stayed through Monday morning. There is a Railey's grocery store a couple blocks away, so when we got there we just made a trip to the store and loaded up on all our drinks, munchies and meals. All in all for 4 people, we spent less than $100! We prepared our meals in the fully equipped kitchen. There are plenty of glasses, dishes, silverware, pots and pans to make fancy feast or a simple dinner. We had been to San Diego many times before and we knew that the Gas Lamp area is where we wanted to stay. Tons of Bars, Restaurants, Shopping all within walking distance! We even had a chance to catch a Padres game; the stadium was less than a mile away (a very quick stroll). Location was key! The only time we had to take a cab was from the airport (about $15), other than that we were able to walk everywhere. Ira was a great host. We had a little miscommunication at check in, but I called him and he walked me through the gate entry procedure and we were good to go in less than 5 minutes. I made our reservations a few months in advance, and Ira was quick to respond to any questions or concerns that emailed him. He made sure we had enough towels, pointed out a couple highlights in the area, and all in all made this a great experience. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay at the loft. Thank you Ira!!

This place was exactly like the pictures and video display. There was six girls and we had plenty of room to get ready with all our stuff and enough beds for all six of us. It is located right next to the famous Gas Lamp Distrcit and everything you need is walking distance. The loft has a nice kitchen with all the utencils and cooking equipement needed. We also enjoyed sitting in the patio area after our crazy night out. I only recommend that you bring additional blankets, pillows and towels for your stay. Ira (owner) was very nice and was very quick to answer any questions we had and even a small parking problem we had when we arrived. Overall we had a great time and you cant beat the price and loaction.

This loft is a fantastic place to get away and see all that San Diego has to offer. I rented this loft for my best friend's bachelorette party a few weekends ago. It was perfect for our needs because it fit 6 girls, and we could walk to all of the downtown restaurants and bars. It was also only a block away from Ralphs and from Horton Plaza. The owner of the loft, Ira, was extremely helpful and went above and beyond to make certain that our trip was perfect. Thank you Ira! We look forward to coming back again.

Despite the fact that the unit itself is great and has everything one would ever need, I think by far the greatest advantage of this place is it's incredible location in the heart of downtown. Walking distance to all the attractions.

A wonderful location! The loft is ecletic, and funky, but our friends were charmed. We spent five weeks there, and it is close to the convention center, the gaslamp and the marinia! Ira was great with whatever we needed. He had someone available with help within 24 hours. The loft had a roll up garage door and when it was up we had indoor out door living. We had a good-bye party when we left San Diego and with the door up easily had 18 people for brunch. Walked to to the Gaslamp for dinner frequently, and breakfast across the street at 222. There were two drawbacks to the unit. The noise level from the upper unit was pretty intense at times as there isn't any insulation between floors. There is wireless internet in the unit, and when it goes out you have to wait for the Chabad to open to reset the router. Overall, you can't beat the location!

It was great to be so close to the convention center for our recent visit to San Diego. We easily shopped at Ralph's too, and so enjoyed having a "home" setting for our stay, instead of a hotel. It was a little tough at times to deal with a sleeping baby, since the one bedroom is really not at all soundproof, but the good points of staying at the loft made up for that inconvenience.

Our stay in the bottom loft was tremendously memorable. It again has the great amenitites of the locale at such short distance of a nice walk. The loft itself is modern and very convenient than any hotel I have ever stayed at. I enjoyed every second as well as the people who stayed with me to celebrate my birthday for the weekend. Check-in and check-out was an ease and I felt very at home the entire stay. I am already looking into staying there for other occasions for friends who I know would enjoy it just the same.

My stay at the Dynasty Loft was wonderful! It was just as it was described on the website. We loved how close it was to the busy Gaslamp district! It was literally a block away and the street we were on was very quite and peaceful. The fact that there werent any walls between the bedrooms took a bit of getting used to but overall we had a wonderful stay and would recommend it to anyone!!

A friend and I stayed in the Upper loft last April while in town for a conference. The place was WONDERFUL! Like a home away from home, near EVERYTHING, and much less expensive than two hotel rooms. It was great and I would highly recommend staying there! It made me feel as if I lived in San Diego. And, don't forget the Theatre around the corner, dry cleaning just steps away, grocery store within a few blocks, etc. etc. etc.!
