My self, my 2 daughters and son stayed here for a week this Spring. The Tiki Cottage was fantastic. The owner has clearly put a great deal of effort into decorating and upgrading this house. My girls loved the bunk beds and I found the pull out sofa to be way more comfortable than I expected. These units usually hurt my back but this one did not bother me in the slightest. My girls and I really liked the proximity to the beach and the pier. We made nightly trips to pier to get ice cream and watch people fish. During the days we spent countless hours at the beach. The outdoor shower came in handy on many occasions. Although we brought our own beach toys, towels and chairs, they were all provided with this home. The owner has truely thought of everything. do your self a favor, travel light. Just bring food and beverages and you will be good to go. I think our favorite part of our vacation was spending evenings on the front deck/porch. This is where quality family time is had. The Adirondack chairs add to the already relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this home. We would love to go back again in the future.
Owner response:Thank you for your kind words. I am delighted you had a nice stay with your family. You are always welcome!

I am currently on my second day at this wonderful cottage. The location is awesome, just one street over from the ocean public access. Takes less than 5 mins to walk. The lot in front of us is empty allowing a view of the ocean and at night sitting on the deck the ocean sounds like it is just steps in front of the cottage. I can't tell you how adoreable this cottage is! The decor is beachy chic and it is very clean. The pics are accurate and actually don't do it justice. The owner Wendi was so nice and helpful, always replying right away to any questions. Kure beach itself is very small town charming. I love it. Thanks Wendi for sharing your homw with us.

The owners have thought of everything u could possibly need. They even had a crate for our westie!!! Which was extremly convient since we drive a small car. Also want to mention this location is awesome!!! u r back on the second street however there is an empty lot in front of you!!! We had a great time and will be back next year!!!! Thank you wendi for everything you were so pleasant and prompt!!!

We spent a week down at the Tikki cottage in May. We loved every minute of the cottage and Kure Beach. It was so easy working with Wendi setting up our stay, and the cottage itself was perfect for the 2 of us and our 2 pups. We would most definitely stay here again, but we loved out stay so much we are now in the process of moving to the Wilmington area.

We had family in from WI and wanted to go to the beach for a few days. This house was just what we needed. It was charming, well equipped and was close to everything. The weather didn't cooperate with us for spending much time at the beach, but there is so much to do so close by that we still were able to have a fabulous time. Seven of us (four adults - three kids plus a dog) were very comfortable for the days we were in Kure Beach. I would highly recommend this home to anyone. Thanks so much for supporting our military and being so kind! Best wishes - can't wait to come back for another visit!

Our family just cherished our time at this adorable cottage!! Great location, private and felt so cozy from the minute we arrived. The owners are wonderful to work with. Extremely helpful with information needed and questions answered. Bikes were so great to have there. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wants a family beach vacation. Everyone has asked, "When can we go back?"

My children and I had a wonderful time at this adorable little home-away-from-home. The owners have put much care and attention into all of the little details, assuring each renter all the comforts of home. Bicycles, beach chairs, sand toys, board games, blocks for the kids, all of the necessary kitchen items that you may need, even miscellaneous items such as coffee filters and cooking oil. The outdoor shower and hose were especially helpful in keeping the sand outside, and the deck chairs and picnic table were quite enjoyable as we took advantage of the cool evening breeze. The bathroom is spacious, and the washer/dryer was a wondeful addition! The house, though cozy, was perfectly furnished to allow for a comfortable stay. Everything was clean and in good working condition. Even our large dog was quite happy indoors (despite the lovely outdoor fenced dog area). The beach house is located in a quite, family-friendly neighborhood and the beach is conveniently located just down the street. Despite the residential location, there is much to do in the surrounding area: The board walk is just a short drive (or bike ride) away, as is the lake and the Kure Beach fising pier. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, as well as shops and a few arcades for the kids. It is also very close to the Fort Fisher Aquarium, Carolina Beach State Park, Maritime Museum in Southport, and the Wilmington Children's Museum. We have truly and thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so much so that we've planned another weekend escape before the season is through. We look forward to returning for another vacation week next summer!

It's hard to not be happy in this cheerful cottage. My family and I are finishing our last day here, and I wanted to write a review before we left and got back in the whirlwind of home life! My husband and I and our 2 year and 7-year old absolutely adored this place, and are already thinking about next year! It is so bright and airy inside, with plenty of room for the kids - especially on the big deck out front! They are both always eager to "go back to the cottage!" at the end of the day. The beach is a short block away, and we love the privacy of this lot. The neighbors are quiet and friendly. We can hear the oceean waves from our deck. It feels very "non-commercial" and personal. Everything we need is here - and we have loved every minute of it. We are so sad to leave our little home away from home. As a sometimes overwhelmed mom, I have found peace and much joy during our week here: lazy bike rides, morning walks alone on the beach, shell seeking at Fort Fisher, ice cream at the pier, margaritas on the porch w/ the hubby after the kids are in bed - the list goes on. Kure Beach and this cottage have truly been a respite; our vacation and stay at this home couldn't have been any better!
Owner response:We are so glad you were able to really unplug during your vacation! We would love to have you back next year!

We spent 6 days at this charming & whimsical cottage. Four adults had plenty of room. The house is a block away from the beach and a couple more from the pier and restaurants on a quiet side street. It was perfectly appointed and decorated to assure maximum relaxation and comfort. Easily has the most character of any home in Kure Beach!

We just returned from our family vacation at Kure Beach over Memorial Day weekend. My husband, daugher, and I stayed at this sweet cottage for four nights. It is a perfect beach cottage...we couldn't have asked for anything different. It is extremely comfortable and functional. We are still talking about it now and would love to stay again next year. The walk to the beach is short and you have a view of the ocean from the patio. We loved it! Thanks Wendi!
Owner response:You are very welcome! We look forward to having you stay again.

My sister and I rented this cottage from May 19-24 and loved it! The owners are great to work with and were quick to respond to any questions we might have. The cottage is adorable! Very beachy inside and comfortable! The house is very well stocked with the necessities (cooking, iron, TV, radio and board games that we enjoyed playing nightly). There are many restaurants walkable from the cottage in Kure Beach or a short ride to Carolina Beach. You are a short (1 1/2 block) walk to the beach, easy even with beach chairs and backpack in tow. The beach was not busy when we were there, maybe because it was before Memorial Day. We would also recommend going down to Fort Fisher (park, aquarium) and taking the ferry to Southport (35 minutes and only $5.00 per car). It is a charming little town with shops and restaurants. My sister and I hope to return in the fall. We would definitely recommend this cottage for an enjoyable stay at Kure Beach!
Owner response:We hope you'll be back in the fall. I hope the rest of the trip was wonderful.

Adorable! The pictures don't do it justice! This is the perfect cottage for a family vacation. It's clean, well decorated, and was plenty of room for our family o 4. We were very pleased. My 6 year old even cried when we left, saying, "I'm really going to miss this place!"

We stayed a week-end in October. It was rainy and windy but great! The house is VERY CLEAN and cozy, bathroom is large. We loved the walk to the pier to watch the waves and fishermen. You can eat with the locals at the coffee shop next to the pier. What a relaxing stay. Can't wait to see what the place offers in good weather.

We spent four nights during our son's spring break and 13th birthday celebration. This cottage was perfect for two adults and three boys. Very close to the beach, pier, playgrounds, etc. The exterior and interiors have been very creatively renovated. It's a very comfortable and well-outfitted cottage.

We stayed here with our two young children and had a wonderful vacation. The cottage is decorated in a relaxed and very comfortable way with great color and style. We walked to the beach and to eat and enjoyed the nearby aquarium and ferries. The renovation was beautifully done with fun colors and excellent craftsmanship. The owners do a great job with the space and it feels very open yet cozy. We hope to go back again this year!

This place was great! We really enjoyed our stay here - what a gorgeous view from the front porch. Perfect spot to start your day with a cup of coffee or unwind after a long day at the beach, take in the sounds of the ocean, and catch up with family & friends. Home is very clean, in great shape, and absolutely perfect for a beach getaway. The kitchen was well equipped and the washer and dryer were a real plus. The location was ideal - a stone's throw from the beach and a short walk to the local restaurants and shops. Special touches from the homeowner made us feel right at home. We would certainly recommend this property!

We truly enjoyed our stay in this adorable beach bungalow. It is much larger inside than it appears outside. We thought the idea on adding additional sleeping accommodations was very inventive. The colors are like a breath of fresh air, very comforting and inviting, perfectly fitting this beautiful cottage. This is a perfect vacation home.
