Well, we have been home for about a week and our amazing holiday seems like a blur. We arrived to a smiling Stavros, who ended up being our travel agent, chauffeur, and knowledgable guide for the week, I don't know what we would have done without him. His willingness to help and organize was wonderful and he would make a really great rally car driver :] We enjoyed his company and would highly recommend his services. He organized our trips to Athens, Santorini, ferry island tour and Meteroa all in a week, busy but awesome. When we arrived at the villa other Stavros was helpful and considerate. Helping with our baggage and giving a quick tour of our home for the week. He was readly avaliable if we needed him. The villa was more then we ever dreamed, what a view and all that space and marble was so different from home. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We used the kitchen for a few meals but since it was our "girls" holiday we made very good use of the taverna at the bottom of the mountain. She was wonderful and the food was delicious. We spent many hours talking and drinking wine on the deck and even spent one night with the lights turned off to watch the lightning storm. Beautiful!!!! Gorgeous hilltop villa!!

Words cannot adequately describe this breathtaking hilltop villa over looking Aegean Sea and the island of Evia. Magnificent sunrises and sunsets, multiples porches and patios, Abundant windows creates the feeling of a being on a sea vessel as you gaze out at the azure waters.. Inside decor is artistically created with beautiful colors - azure blues, pale yellows, sunburst rust and gold in the fabrics and furnishings. A great vacation home for extended families!! This is our third return to this villa and it is like coming home each time we visit. Beautifully maintained.

The Stargazer Villa is a gorgeous villa that is the perfect location for exploring Athens and the surrounding area. Our party ranged from age 2 - 80 and we all thoroughly enjoyed the home and the hospitality of our hosts, Despina and Stravros. We enjoyed Schinias Beach with the toddlers. We roamed ancient Corinth with the history buffs. We screamed during the bungee jumping in the Corinth Canal with the teenagers. There truly was something for everyone! The house is spacious enough to accommodate everyone and has everything necessary for your stay. Also a big shout out to tour guide/driver - the other Stravros! He is a font of information and good fun! Schinias and Stargazer let you enjoy the "rural" Greece of local tavernas on the beach, but also be close enough to Athens culture and sightseeing. If you are considering a trip to Greece, Stargazer is a great choice!

When you arrive at the Stargazer Villa you are welcomed by a panoramic view in luxury that most of us will never experience. The joy is amplified when you meet Steve and Despina the owners as they share their life in Greece and in North Carolina and the "build" of a lifetime... the Stargazer Villa. Despina recommended a driver to us and we travelled with ease due to the great relationship they have with Stavros and Rosa. We were introduced to other family and received great recommendations on where to go and what to see. If you are looking for a place that provides a view like no other, privacy for everyone in your group, beautiful rooms to entertain in, a well equipped kitchen and a sense of belonging Stargazer will leave wanting to say longer. Thanks Despina and Steve you made us feel like we were at home in your home. Good to know: Did you know that you cannot rent a car in Greece without an international license. Check with CAA or AAA to find out how to get international license before you arrive.

Perfect Vacation

Our family of seven adults stayed at Stargazer Villa in June 2011. The house was perfect and looked just as wonderful in person as it did in the on-line photos. The views from every room are spectacular and there are many balconies for enjoying the view. No detail was overlooked. The spacious rooms and comfy furniture were perfect for gathering together during meals or for chatting, playing games and reviewing photos in the evenings. The huge well-equipped kitchen allowed everyone to be in the kitchen during meal prep times -- even though some were doing more sampling than preparing -- and there was a nice outdoor grilling area. (Be sure to go to the meat counter at Galaxy Grocery Store and buy Menny's (sp?) meatballs to cook on the grill. She is really nice and makes the best meatballs and sausages ever!) The beds were so comfortable and there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out when they needed a little space. The hot tub and outdoor shower were big hits. The location near Schinias Beach was great for relaxing days at the beach clubs and enjoying the calm waters. The young adults went wake-boarding at one of the beach clubs and the adventurous ones jumped off the cliffs into the deep waters near the house. This was one of their favorite parts of our vacation. The house has wireless internet, a local phone and a U.S. phone line, and several televisions, so those of us who are technology junkies could maintain their habits -- my preference was to ignore tv and internet and enjoy being in Greece away from the "real" world. After spending 2 days in Athens, we arrived at Stargazer Villa. We were warmly greeted by Steve and Despina - they rolled out the welcome mat for us and made us feel like their beautiful home was our home. It was great to be away from the city and in the heart of Greece. We did a few day trips to Mykonos, Olympia, and Cape Sounion after getting great advice about things to do from Despina and Steve. They were available to us if we had questions, but we also had our privacy. They are such warm and friendly people and they helped us with planning and ideas for our vacation before we left the States and after we arrived in Greece. Our family gathered together for a big vacation after our son's Navy deployment to the Middle East. This was the first time we had all been together for almost a year and it was the perfect family vacation. Lots for everyone to do in the perfect house with the perfect hosts.

Stavros and Bespina have created a beautiful house in a great area about an hour from the Acropolis, and 45-50 minutes from the airport. We stayed in the smaller villa, and it was more than spacious enough for a family of three. Well-appointed, beautiful furnishings, large and well-stocked kitchen, Wi-Fi and entertainment center, and stunning 180+ degree views of the Aegean Sea. There's even a lift if you need it (we just took the stairs). We spent a week here touring by car. This is a very central location to visit Delphi, Corinth, Athens, and many other places. Stavros (Steve) is a PhD historian who has written many history books. He delighted us with stories of Greek history. The beach area just down the hill is where the battle of Marathon took place around 500BC -- what historians consider one of the most pivotal battles in all of western history. We would definitely return to Star Gazer Villa on our next visit to Greece.

As our trip to Greece has just finished (Feng and I were in Mykonos until yesterday), I'd like to send you a quick email to thank you for the great time we had at Stargazer Villa, and for the warm welcome and the help Rosa provided us with. The villa was just perfect, with breathtaking views, utmost comfort and exquisite furniture and equipment. This was a fantastic trip. The house is better than the description; breath-taking 360 views, all the amenities. Stavros and Rosa are extraordinarily nice people who were invaluable. We would highly recommend availing yourself of their assistance. The owners are very nice and willing to answer any questions/etc. Negatives -> zero. We would definitely go there again.

Amazing View, Amazing Villa, Amazing Hosts

When I stumbled across Stargazer Villa on the internet, I thought it looked too good to be true. But it turned out to be everything I hoped it would be, and much more. The listing is completely accurate; the villa is absolutely clean and well-maintained. The view is incredible -- I felt like a movie star, staying there. My teenage son and husband loved jumping from the rocks into the sea. The sandy beach was good as well, with lots of nice tavernas. In fact, the area had several nice restaurants; and Marathon (short drive from the villa) has a great bakery and butcher shop. The owners, Steve and Despina, were extremely helpful in recommending where to shop, eat and swim. The area is full of interesting sites, especially those connected to the Battle of Marathon. But what really sets Stargazer Villa apart is the owners' thoughtfulness and concern for their guests. While we were there, my daughter fell ill (nothing to do with the villa!) and had to go to the emergency room in Athens. Despina phoned her personal physician (who spoke English) and asked her to meet us at the hospital. Despina also drove to the hospital with us so she could translate and make sure we were OK. My daughter recovered; and what could have been a vacation disaster went as smoothly as possible, thanks to Despina. I would recommend Stargazer Villa to anyone.

Our Stay at the Stargazer

I want to let you know how very much we enjoyed our stay at your beautiful Stargazer Villa. I totally understand why you chose the name "Stargazer". Each night it was a lovely site to stand outside and view the stars twinkling in the sky, see the moon's reflection on the the water and look at the lights of the town almost dancing in the night air. Just wonderful! The view was breath taking. We have many memories tucked away from our stay. The accomodations could not have been better. We enjoyed (as a family) preparing meals in the kitchen with all the conveniences there for our use. We had great fun playing games, watching movies together, taking walks along the path by the villa, greeting Stavros & Rosa's pooches, (what sweet animals!) sitting outside on the various balconies with our coffee and relaxing. Stavros and Rosa are just the most wonderful, gracious people. They helped us with any questions and were so generous and kind. Stavros picked us up from the airport, took us to the bakery, the grocery store and gave us so much first-hand info about the history of the area, the vegetation, the people, and he and my husband had a few rather deep philosophical discussions. When we arrived at the villa, Rosa was there with her beautiful smile and warm welcome. She had purchased a box of delicious cookies for us to enjoy. So sweet of her! At first glance, we were just overwhelmed by the space, the lay out and the beauty of the villa. Even though we had seen pictures on the website, it was so much more being there!! Just amazing!! I would highly recommend this villa. Our family vacation was the best!

Thank you so very much for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home! After 6 weeks of traveling all over France and down through Italy and taking the 17-hour ferry over to Greece, we finally slowed down and truly relaxed for the past 2 weeks here at Stargazer Villa. It truly feels like home! Bill& I, not cooks by nature, really enjoyed making salads, pasta, breakfast, etc. in the open, spacious kitchen, then enjoying our meals at the table by the windows enjoying the spectacular view! Thanks for the many special personal touches such as: the welcoming basket, breakfast items left in the refrigerator for our first breakfast the following morning, plenty of paper goods and washing products, the conveniences of a washer and dryer, computer, phone line to the U.S., etc. We enjoyed the Acropolis in Athens, amazed by the drive to Delphi, Corinth, Nafplion, and Mycenae, but we really enjoyed the quiet solitude and beauty of the natural God-made surroundings of this lovely area. Despina, it was always a joy talking with you by phone or exchanging e-mails. Would love to meet you and Stavros one day. It was a delight to meet Rosa and Stavros. They were wonderful and very helpful during our stay. Thanks again, and God bless you both for making it possible for us, and so many others, to have a special place like Stargazer Villa to come to and make memories that will last a lifetime. We had an wonderful time at the Stargazer, and Despina and Stavros were AMAZING hosts! The view is even better than the pictures, the local beach and the tavernas were a welcome break from sightseeing in Athens, and the lower guest house space is huge and homey. I definitely recommend renting a car for future guests so that you can get around easily (which we had) and also hiring their neighbor (also named Stavros) for a private tour up to Delphi! It couldn't have been a better field trip for our family or euros well spent. Cape Sunion was also an easy hour or so from the Stargazer, which we found with the help of Stavros' directions on our own. I hope we can come back some day soon. You could spend months at the Stargazer and never get tired of the sights! I would love to stay in the upper penthouse next time...

Despina and Stavros, It was amazing staying at the Stargazer Villa. The veiw from every window in the house was amazing!!! It was fantastic waking up every morning lookig out at the Adriatic Sea. There was so much room in your house! 10 of my apartments could fit inside your home. It was AWSOME going to the beach every day.At Schinias it it was nice to swim on my own because the beach was so shallow and when you got hungry you could just go up on the beach to the Taverna/Tabepna and eat fried sardines and french fries and bread. Another cool thing was zig zaging up the mountain to your house. it was nice when we arrived and you welcomed us into your home and took us down to the beach .( And waking up at 4:00 in the morning to say goodbye to us when we left. ) I hope that I get to go back to the the Stargazer Villa! What a wonderful time we had at Stargazer! Our family, consisting of my wife and me, our son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren, and our daughter, found the house to be well-suited for both family time and separate time. The high-speed internet and direct line to America certainly helped us keep in touch with the happenings of home. The property was well-furnished with every possible amenity and was very clean. We very much enjoyed Rosa and Stavros, who helped make our time in Greece very pleasant. Stavros was our guide for several days and was very knowledgeable about the area and its history. I had always dreamed of a family vacation on mainland Greece, and the minute I saw the Stargazer Villa's website, I knew I had found the perfect spot and hosts for our adventure. From the moment I contacted Despina and Stavros, they were most helpful and gracious in providing us with all the information and advice we needed for our trip. Their villa is absolutely fabulous with so many amenities and so comfortable and roomy for my husband and I and our three teenagers. The villa is so close to a very relaxing beach, and centrally located to visit many wonderful historic sites. Ten days in Greece was not near enough to enjoy it all. In their gorgeous villa with the incredible views, Despina and Stavros will treat you like family. I guarantee that a stay at Stargazer will be incomparable to practically any other vacation villa you have ever visited! Thank you Despina and Stavros for everything!!

Thank-you to Despina and Stavros for their wonderful hospitality in their beautiful villa. The views of the ocean from the deck and from the large picture windows were absolutely gorgeous! Closeby are sandy beaches, hidden rock coves, tavernas with delicious Greek salads and cold beer. The house is roomy and beautifully decorated. We stayed with our three teenagers and there was plenty of room to spread out. Despina and Stavros were very thoughtful giving us advice as to where to visit and good restaurants to try. They even invited us to join them for a lovely 4th of July barbeque. We have wonderful memories of our stay at their villa.

Trying to find information on villas on the Greek mainland was about as painful an experience as pulling out your teeth with a pair of pliers, or it was until I found the Stargazer villa website. This was in a different class to anything I had found beforehand. It looked very professional, contained all the relevant information, and gave me a good feeling about the villa even before we had stayed there. And my instincts were proved correct following a fantastic 13 day stay. The villa and views are spectacular, the main beach is secluded and child friendly, and the owners are extremely hospitable. The comments in the guest book paint an accurate picture and I can only add to them by saying that it certainly has the 'wow' factor and I would recommend this place to anybody.

We have spent 4 weeks at Stargazer in August 2007. We would spend 44 or 444 weeks there, the villa is so comfortable, spacious, well planned and beautiful, it feels like home right away. Despina and Stavros are by far the most gracious and kind hosts I have ever seen! One poet said: "You can see the big thing only from the big distance". Now than I'm back to United States I can see our vacation in Greece as it was - as one sunny, wonderful, happy day, one of the happiest days in my life.

Renting this villa is the best way to experience Greece. The area is so relaxing and quiet, while the views are sensational. Despina will address your every need and make sure that your trip is perfectly planned. Don't forget to ask about Stavros and his tours! Both he and his wife were fantastic! On our vacation here we had a wonderful time, The Stargazer Villa is turly sublime. And as our time here draws to an end, These are the thoughts we wish to send. Stavros and Despina are so dear, They are warm and helpful and full of good cheer. The magnificent vistas are splendid and restoring, And bring us relaxation which never gets boring. To see the sites both near and far, You must allow Rosa and Stavros to take you in their car. The greatest treat is the hike on Evia, For good views, cool pools and food from Evanthea. The Stargazer villa was fantastic in so many ways! It was a delightful setting for our adult family's vacation. The natural beauty of the home's location overlooking the sea was enhanced by the warm hospitality of Rosa and Stavros who manage the property for Despina when Despina is back in the US with her grandchildren. After so much e-mail correspondence with Rosa in preparation for our family vacation, I felt as though I knew her before I even arrived at this spectacular villa. Rosa's husband Stavros met us at the airport and made our transition from travelers to vacationers as smooth as a trans-Atlantic trip can allow. He even took the time to stop by his favorite bakery to assist me in purchasing a freshly-baked loaf of bread. When we arrived at the villa, Rosa was there to welcome us and help us settle in for our week in Greece. She had purchased all of the food and wine that I had requested, and then arranged for us to meet later over wine and pizza to discuss our plans for traveling around Greece during the week with the help of her husband Stavros who operates a personalized tour company. If you go to Stargazer, you definitley want to engage Stavros as your personal guide. He has so much cultural and historical knowledge to share, while all the time making you feel at home in this country he so obviously loves. Rosa and Stavros introduced us to their favorite local tavernas and helped us overcome our lack of knowledge of the Greek language by introducing us to the taverna owners and helping us order from the menu that was filled with Greek delights such as lamb chope, Greek salad, calamari, and fresh fish. I can wholeheartedly recommend Stargazer as a fantastic villa for a vacation with your family or friends!

How do I even start? It was a fairy tale come true. I searched for villa's in the area, and to my amazement, up pops Stargazervilla... it took my breath away!! After contacting the owners, who were very very quick to respond, Despina, I booked 6 days at their villa. I had some special requests, in order to make it perfect. Despina passed me onto the lady that takes care of the guests...Rosa... what can I say about Rosa? There are no keys on this keyboard to express myself. Upon communication with Rosa, she went about arranging for all my special requests. I provided her with this very long shopping list, and we chatted back and forth prior to my arrival ... When we arrived, the villa was more then I could have imagined! Breathtaking view, beautiful accomodations EXACTLY as shown on the website, yet one has to go there to really get the affect of this place. When we arrived, we were greeted by Rosa and we followed her, and when we stepped into the house, it was a fairytale come true..soft music playing, flowers all about, food and champagne as requested, balloons all around, a special cake from her on the table, with fruit, cheese, breads, chocolate, etc..all that I had asked for and more!! All was arranged perfectly all about, and all the special groceries carefully arranged inside the kitchen. The Stargazer villa was the best value I have ever seen...I stayed in Athens in a small hotel room for MORE then this large, romantic villa...I will never be the same after this visit and I will come back, that you can be sure of. Every need was met, every request was granted, and Rosa was totally an amazing woman during our stay..even calling to see if we needed anything since they were going into town. I'm in the food service business, and I pride myself in customer service..I must say, this far exceeded even my expectations !! and my heart will always have the vision of that view, out those big windows, sipping our coffee..amazing view, amazing villa, amazing price, amazing owners, and the amazing Rosa...I am so blessed to have found STARGAZERVILLA !!! I will return with my family in 2008 and it will be my surprise to take them here and watch their eyes bug out of their heads at the vision that lays before them. The Stargazer villa in Schinias was the most beautiful villa in Schinias. Located on the top of the mountain with one of the most beautiful water views I have ever seen. Even though you feel a million miles away from the hussle of the city the villa is very close to private beaches, ports and Athens. Despina is FABULOUS! Her hospitality and guidence while we were in Greece was second to none. I can't put in to words the amazing time we had in Greece and how renting the Villa made us feel like we were home. Thank you for everything you did for us while we were visiting. We have already told everyone we know about how amazing the villa was and that they MUST rent it if they ever travelled to Greece. From the moment we arrived in Schinias until we departed, one week later, we experienced first-hand all of the amazing Greek hospitality we had heard and read about. Stavros and Despina were exemplary hosts. Stavros took time to show us around Marathon in his personal vehicle, so we could get our bearings. He provided us with the history of the area, showed us where to pick up groceries, and recommended the best restaurants. The Stargazer villa itself is absolutely amazing! The panoramic views from the living room are breathtaking. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and tastefully appointed. We spent several afternoons and evenings on the terraces enjoying ouzo and the cool sea breeze. Stavros and Despina answered any questions we had about navigating through Greece. One day, we decided to drive to Olympia. I highly recommend doing this, if you have the time. On our way to Olympia, we took the main roads. On the way back, we took the mountain road. If you have the nerves for driving on crooked narrow mountain roads, I would definitely take advantage of the mountain road. We passed through several picturesque villages, and were able to take some amazing photos. When we decided to spend a day in Athens, Stavros recommended Stavros the taxi driver. I am very glad we hired Stavros the taxi driver. He did a great job taking us around Athens. The restaurant he suggested for lunch was delightful. The food was fresh, delicious, and most important – affordable! Thank you Stavros and Despina! We will definitely come back for another visit, and I will make sure to tell everyone about your wonderful home and hospitality!

Staying at the Stargazer Villa was everything we hoped it would be and more. The Villa was beautiful inside and out. we had phenominal views looking out over the water. Stavros was very helpful in showing us around the area for things to see, where to buy food, or get a good meal. He helped us plan our agenda by giving excellent advise on which archeological sites, islands, cities, etc. we should see. If you stay at Stargazer Villa take a little time to talk to Stavros about Greek hisory, culture and politics, he is very knowledgable in these areas. I feel a significant portion of the success of our trip was due to the spacious accomodations of the Villa( which was great for our family of 5) and the hospitality of Stavros.

We would like to tell the world about "Stargazer" Villa and how fortunate we were to find it. The panoramic views from the Villa's balcony/patio are breathtaking. It has the most fantastic sunrises and at night the lights of the coastal communities are beautiful. Stargazer Villa comes with the most accommodating and interesting hosts Stavros & Despina. Their caring for us began with my calling Despina from Athen's Airport to advise of our arrival and continued until our departure. Directions to the Villa were easy to follow. Stravros introduced us to Marathon by taking us to the local grocery store, suggesting foods and wine which we might like to try. He also found us a wonderful guide who took our party of four on a full day of sightseeing. As we told Stavros we would rate Stargazer Villa a 10+. My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Stargazer Villa. The view, the atmosphere, the entire experience was so magical, so incredibly unique! And the owners could not have been more accomodating and welcoming. I highly recommend this as a perfect vacation home rental for those who want to experience a truly relaxing and momentous getaway!
