Wolves, bear, moose and elk abound in our area of Yellowstone and the Beartooth Mountains. There are beautiful mountain views from the back deck. Some of the best wild trout fishing in the world is minutes from the house. These include the Yellowstone River, Lamar River, Slough Creek, Soda Butte Creek, and the Clark's Fork of the Yellowstone.
A great family day can be spent touring the famous features of Yellowstone or taking a day trip to Cody, WY to see the Wild Bill Cody Museum, a real Rodeo nightly, a gun fight at the original Irma Hotel, good food, and many shops including the Sierra Outlet. Best time for animal watching is June and early July, while the best time for fishing is mid July through September. Hiking is fabulous anytime. It is clean, spacious and comfortable, with Great Room and fireplace, modern kitchen and laundry on first floor, bedrooms & a newly remodeled bathroom upstairs.

We stayed at the cabin in late June with our 4 kids. The cabin was spacious and comfortable and the washer and dryer was a great benefit. The towns people in Silvergate were warm and friendly and the folks at the store across the street were more than helpful. The kids enjoyed the nightly campfires and the wildlife scopes set up outside. wildlife was abundant both in town and in the park, bears, elk, wolves, moose, eagles to name a few. I would recommend this house to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient location to the park. Thanks for the best vacation!

What a surprise this has been! I caught fish everywhere I tried - Soda Butte, Lamar Canyon, Slough Creek, and The Clark's Fork of the Yellowstone. It was great to get back in Yellowstone after 20 years.

Who needs Yellowstone when so much wildlife happens outside the front door in Silver Gate. Honestly, we loved being so close to the Lamar Valley and all the wolves, grizzlies, and buffalo, just to name a few. We had a wonderful time.
