Casa Cielos Azules was completed in the summer of 2006. It is a large Spanish-style villa perched on a bluff only 150 meters from the Pacific Ocean.
The house has a second floor master bedroom and bath with a wrap around deck commanding 180 degree view of the Pacific. Two bedrooms on the main floor have their own full baths. The grand room is surrounded by open-air porches enabling outside dining and relaxation.
The custom built kitchen contains all the conveniences of stainless steel appliances, under mount sink and dual fuel cooking. There is laundry room equipped with washer and dryer. The house is situated and designed to capture the natural breezes and all rooms as well as the outside porches and decks are equipped with ceiling fans to enhance the sea breezes, The two main floor bedrooms have optional air conditioning. Maid and caretaker are on premises for house cleaning and laundry.(Maid does not cook)
Casa Cielos Azules is surrounded by a grand yard in a quiet, undeveloped and unspoiled Pacific beach community. Its relative seclusion guarantees tretches of almost deserted beaches suitable for surfing, body surfing, kayaking, shelling, fishing, sunbathing and long walks.
Horseback riding, deep sea and freshwater fishing are available nearby. Longer day trips will allow you breathtaking mountain views and ziplines, rain forests, caving, white water rafting, mountain adventures and thermal spring swimming. There is an assortment of small local restaurant choices nearby offering a variety of dining and entertainment options: from simple open-fired Tico meals to multi-course European feasts.
Small convenience stores in Junquillal and Paraiso can satisfy most needs. Complete grocery stores in Santa Cruz--30 minutes away.

My wife, daughter and I had our dream vacation at this wonderfull property. The house far exceeded our expectations and the setting is spectacular. Private beaches, a great variety of restaurants and the Costa Rica Lifestyle resulted a relaxed fun filled get-away. The house is exquistely designed to take advatage of the sea breezes while provided awesome views and a background of crashing surf. If you are looking for shopping and nightlife you might look elsewhere, but if you want a true Costa Rica vacation this is the place. Thanks for sharing your home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Dan--I am glad you enjoyed it--you appreciate the same things I do.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and could not have been happier. The house is huge and beautiful, and we could sit on the upstairs porch for hours on end, listening to the waves crash and enjoying panoramic views of the Pacific. The beach is a 5-10 min walk from your door, and you'll probably be the only people there! Finally, the world's coolest and happiest German Shepherd ("Raúl") will keep you safe and play fetch on the beach! If you're thinking of staying here, do it!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: I am glad you enjoyed it...Raul says Hi...

Our overall experience was wonderful. Your descriptions of places to go, see and experience was right on. We particulary enjoyed Rincon and the Zip line at pura adventura. Local area restaurants are good and very reasonably priced. Mary's, Villa Serena and Villa - my mind went blank but it's just across the road from Mary's. You highly recommended it and I concur - we went there a couple of times. Burgers at the beach bar at sunset aren't bad either. As far as the house is concerned, it exceeded our expectations. Liset was very attentive and kept it clean which is a real task with the dust that blows during the dry season. Eduardo stayed after the property as well. We particularly enjoyed the view from the upstairs deck - accompanied by a good glass of wine of course. Some of the kitchen pans were a little beat up but that happens with a rental. Besides, I'm kind of a nut when it comes to cooking. I would have no reservations about recommending your house to anyone. It provided serious comfort while we were vacationing in paradise.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed my paradise. Pura Vida I replaced the pans--sorry I was tardy Chef..

This house is fantastic and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a vacation home in the area. A couple of things that I liked the most would be: 1} How spacious and open the house felt. We had 6-7 people staying there and space was never an issue. 2) The wrap around deck outside. Whether enjoying a book on the large deck chairs or lounging in the hammock, the deck area provided a great place for us to just hang out and take in the view. 3) The house overall. The house's design gave off a sense of authenticity and practicality. I thought the vents/windows above the living room were quite useful and provided just the right amount of airflow to keep it comfortable within the house. In all honesty I could not say anything negative about this house. I am extremely pleased I was able to experience Playa Junquillal and I couldn't think of a better place to stay while doing so.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for kind words. Hope to see you again soon.

The house is absolutely incredible, with plenty of space for a big family or a group of friends. The kitchen has everything a great cook needs, and while the bathrooms are nice, everyone fought for the outdoor shower. We went with a group of friends for Spring Break. Our days consisted of waking up early with the howler monkeys, taking a bike to the mini super-mercado up the road to get fresh produce, then walking the short distance to one of two beaches in the area. We'd all meet up again for lunch, then take naps on the porch (the lucky ones score the hammock). We'd usually go exploring after that, taking the canoe out into the nearby fresh waterway, or going to the bar on one of the nearby beaches. There are restaurants and great surfing spots not too far from the house, too. The house is secluded enough to be a great getaway, but is close enough to attractions and town that a group of young people will have a blast too. Check it out!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

I have nothing but great memories of my trip to Costa Rica, and it was largely due to the wonderful accommodations. First, I'll give you some tips on the house. If you want somewhere that is touristy and in the middle of the hustle and bustle, this house is probably not for you. But if you want somewhere that has an incredible view, a "homey" feel, and is within walking distance to a sparsely populated beach...this is the house for you. Although it's pretty low key, there are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby if you don't feel like cooking or want to get out of the house. But if you want to cook dinner and stay in, it's perfect for that too. The house is beautiful and sleeps a pretty big crowd comfortably. It's two stories, has huge walk-in showers, a wrap around porch with hammocks all around, and a modern, fully equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking for large groups. And I really cannot say enough about the views! The house is on the top of a hill, and the view, especially from the top floor master bedroom is incredible. As far as the beach goes, just a 5 minute walk, and you're basically on a private beach. A few people may walk by here and there, but not many! It's also fun to go down the road about 15 minutes to the beach where the bars/restaurants are and hang out there for the day. There, you can order your favorite blender beverage, have some nice lunch, take some surfing lessons, meet some locals and other vacationers, etc. And since it is in a smaller town, the local people are incredibly friendly. I really can't say enough great things about this house, and if you have the chance, I highly recommend it to anyone!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

My wife and I stayed here with friends the weekend after we got engaged and had an amazing time. The house is huge with high ceilings and a spacious kitchen. The patio has a dining table, comfy reclining chairs and a hammock, and is located on a hill so you have a beautiful view. We would have been fine spending the entire trip relaxing there, but the house is also just a 4 minute walk to a beautiful, private beach (keep an eye towards the trees you pass on the walk and you may see some monkeys!). The house and entire property was extremely clean and well kept. You're also only a 10 minute bike ride away from a small grocery store and a beach with a bar/restaurant that makes excellent plantains and pina coladas. The description accurately states that the house comfortable sleeps 8 (we actually had 9 for parts of the trip and it was never a problem). The property itself is actually quite large and there's plenty of room in the yard to toss a football or frisbee around.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

I have visited twice and both of my stays were fantastic. The property is clean and there is daily cleaning service while you are there. The kitchen is fully stocked and there is a nearby grocery so you can do lots of your own cooking when you don't feel like going out to one of the many restaurants. The view is beautiful too! Its close to a lot of things but you will need to rent/have a car to do a lot of the sight-seeing. There is a beach within walking distance that is very quiet - its like having your own private beach! I would recommend this property to anyone looking to take a trip to the Costa Rican coast for a quiet and relaxing vacation. Owners are fantastic people.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Rachel--Glad you enjoyed your visit---looking forward to more...
