This large turn of the century vintage home was built in 1900, and still has its original woodwork and exposed beams. The house is perched on a rocky rise, literally steps from the ocean. The layout provide an ocean view from nearly every room.
You enter the house into a large family-style living room featuring a large fireplace at one end, and leading out to an enormous wrap-around porch overlooking the ocean in the back.
The dining room is large enough to accommodate two plank dining tables next to each other and capable of seating about 15 people comfortably. Enjoy a lobster dinner by the fire or simply enjoy the spectacular ocean views.
The kitchen is huge with two sinks, loads of storage space, and a lovely little breakfast table with views of the lobster boats, kayaks, and Thatcher Island. From the kitchen, there is a service room with laundry and a set of stairs leading to what was once the upstairs maids' quarters.
The upstairs has seven bedrooms, each uniquely decorated with treasures from the past. In the master bedroom, you will find a working fireplace and four-poster bed complete with gorgeous views of the ocean.
This home is perfect for extended families getting together. It is a quiet retreat just a mile from downtown Rockport and walking distance from the beach.
