Location: Harstine Island, Puget Sound, Washington State, USA (Located 40 Miles from Olympia, 90 Minutes from Seattle)

Accommodations:  Cabin, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath (Sleeps 5-6)

Harstine Island is located 16 miles from Shelton, a peaceful little town located between Highways 101 and 3 on the Olympic Peninsula. Harstine Island is the third largest island in the South Sound (after Vashon and Bainbridge) consisting of 40 square miles with 30 miles of shoreline. The island is non-commercial and rural with dense forestation and abundant wildlife.
Located on a quiet cove, our cabin is a place to let your cares slip away. You will love the old fashioned romance of the antique filled cabin on 5 secluded acres. Two sets of French doors open to a covered porch. From the porch rockers or the porch table and chairs you can watch the tides rise, blue herons take wing and otters pop their heads up to peer at you. Your own private deck with a gas bar-b-que and table and chairs overlooking the saltwater cove.
Peaceful accommodations with spectacular views. Rest awhile on a garden bench or on one of 3 large decks overlooking the Puget Sound and the snow capped Olympic Mountains.
Complimentary treats frequently appear-scones with homemade jams, hot cookies, muffins, cheese and crackers--whatever the weather or season inspires.
Leave the hustle and bustle of city life behind and reserve your special moment in time.

    • My Wife and kids spent a fantastic weekend in the awesome cabin. We brought our dog and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The cabin was very cool with its rustic setting and decor. We loved it. It is such a relaxing place. We also loved the tour we were given of the main Log home that Mike and Judy own. They were so gracious and invited us in to see their beautiful home and incredible view. We totally loved it. We plan to visit again for sure! Thanks for everything!

    • My wife and I, along with our two children (12 and 9), just spent a week in the cabin, and the only negative was that we had to leave. The cabin, the setting, Mike and Judy...everything about it was fantastic. We spent at least part of most days in the lagoon and on the beach collecting our dinner (clams, crabs, and oysters), then to the raspberry patch for a snack. We also dragged ourselves away a few times to explore the island and locale, including the southern bits of Olympic N.P. The cabin itself is very comfortable, cheerfully and thoughtfully appointed, and very well maintained. Mike and Judy couldn't have been better hosts, doing their very best to spoil us. We are already trying to figure out how and when we can make a return visit.

    • Peggy and I spent 7 days at the cabin. It was a wonderful time. For less than the price of a decent motel you get the little vacation cabin that you always fantasized about. Actually this is a better deal than your own vacation cabin. You only pay for it the days that you use it. The beach in front on the cabin yielded oysters that are perfect for the barby. The views of Pickering Passage are spectacular. The boat launch is about 3 miles away and you can launch/retrieve at low tide. Mike and Judy are great hosts and they do not invade your privacy. Judy's raspberry jam and strawberry shortcake with whipped cream were wonderful--also the fresh eggs. Absolutely everything was provided, as promised--it was a quaint and cute country cabin.

    • This is a truly wonderful property. The cabin is laid out so efficiently and is so roomy, it's easy to forget it's one bedroom. It is not only equipped with everything you might need, it's decorated with all kinds of cool vintage 'stuff', which gives it a personality all its own - far different from other impersonal rentals. The property is PERFECT if you're looking for some peace & quiet - it's an oasis of sky and water on heavily forested Harstene Island - but it's also not far from some interesting places to go & see so you needn't feel like you're too far from civilization. Judy and Mike treated us like royalty and made us feel as if we'd been specially invited. We are definitely coming back. Go here, and take your dog! Our dogs had the time of their lives. I could go on...but in brief, it's just a wonderful place.

    • I've known Mike & Judy for over 30 yrs. and was actually the first of their friends from Yuma to venture onto this wonderful property when they were building and still had a primitive, dirt road. It is truly a haven of serenity and peace. Mike & Judy are amazing hosts!
