Your vacation home is sited on almost 2 acres at the end of a cul-de-sac with gently undulating sagebrush and juniper hills. The tranquil setting is private yet opens to panoramic views of the Taos Valley and the majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains. The tastefully designed and furnished house captures the Southwest aesthetic with viga woodbeam ceilings and saltillo tile floors throughout and with all modern amenities.
An open floor plan includes a living room with a dramatic 12 foot ceiling, gas kiva fireplace and ceiling fan, and with a large picture window that looks out to unobstructed views of the mountains; a well-equipped, country kitchen and dining area; a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom; an additional winged bedroom for extra privacy; a den with a queen-size futon and kiva fireplace that can be converted to a bedroom; and another bathroom with shower.
The master bedroom opens to the patio and hot tub for private viewing of the Milky Way. The sombra (gazebo) on the hillside is perfect for hawk watching and for gazing at the incredible variations of the Taos sky and sunsets. The living room has an entertainment center with a 32” flat-screen LCD TV, satellite TV reception, DVD and CD players. A free, high-speed wireless broadband connection provides fast access to the Internet. Zoned radiant heated floors ensure comfortable heating throughout the house and the bedrooms are carpeted. There is a covered carport with a storage cabinet for skis and boots.
The Taos Plaza, art galleries, museums, restaurants and the Taos Pueblo, a United Nations Heritage Site, are all within 15 minutes. Taos Ski Valley is a 20 minute scenic drive away. Music, art and film festivals take place year round and Santa Fe, Georgia O'Keefe's Ghost Ranch, the Spanish colonial villages on the High Road to Taos, and Native American archaeological sites are easy day trips in the area.
