My husband & I, as well as his sister & her husband and their son rented the Chalet for New Years Eve & could not have been any happier! We moved here from Colorado 7 years ago and spend a significant amount of money visiting several times a year! After staying at the Chalet we feel as if we have found a local Colorado that is only 60mins from our home in Godfrey, Illinois. The Chalet had a very nice Ipod Doc, that just made the living room scene the place to be! The beds were comfy & The owners are VERY good about having everything at the cabin you would ever need! The views from the deck were stunning, quiet & peaceful. We are definitely returning this winter as we want to go when it snows.... The owner was very pleasant to work with & made the process very simple! We just can't wait to return!!!!!!Thanks again.... Kate & Adam

Our family enjoyed a perfect Thanksgiving holiday at the chalet. There was fishing, hiking, dog walking, golfing, lots of games in front of the fireplace, football and of course, eating!! There was plenty of room for all 6 of us and everyone described the chalet as very "cozy". Thanks for the wonderful family memories. Renting the chalet is a definite do-over!

We rented two neighboring chalets and hosted our children and grandchildren for a fun-filled week! We swam, fished, paddle-boated and played games and read to the children. Our children LOVED it and our grandchildren LOVED it! We loved hosting this family event --- it is sure to be a treasured family memory!

Very attractive, usable chalet with such beautiful views to look into the woods or watch the full moon rise over the lake. A nice, well-equipped gathering place for having friends out for the day. Easy to cook in, lots of seating, and activities for kids. In the heat of summer, we really appreciated the air conditioning along with the quiet and green of the surroundings. Sarah is so helpful to work with.

The minute we walked in the front door we knew we were in for an amazing week. A photograph can't begin to describe this beautiful chalet and the incredible view of the lake. The chalet is beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and you truly feel as if it is your own home away from home. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked (if you need it, it's there!). We enjoyed sitting on the dock and watching the sunset each evening, just enjoying nature at its best. Sarah was incredible to work with. We lost power for a short period of time during our visit, and she was so easy to reach and began working on the problem immediately. We are already looking at our calendars to schedule a fall and winter visit, plus a stay again next summer. Truly, THE BEST trip ever!

This Chalet is beautiful! We brought two teenagers and two 7 year olds and the chalet had everything we needed. Lake Sonnenblick is quiet with a georgeous view from the deck. Chalet owner is very accommodating. Overall the experience was wonderful!

This site was perfect for our family reunion. Back to nature and childhood. It was so much fun to sit at lakeside for morning coffee, BBQ leisurely, caught up talking late nigths, play golf or eat at nearby resturant . Next trip we'll try the paddling and hiking. Clear directions, clean and well maintained. Want to get away...this is the place.

I can not recommend this place enough, it was just wonderful. We stayed for Thanksgiving weekend and had a truly relaxing weekend. Every little detail has been taken care of here, it is so homey and restful. My daughter had a blast looking at all this kids book and playing with the toys and she loved the upstairs TV nook. The pictures truly do not so it justice, it is so spacious and lovely. We will definatley be coming back!

A Little Piece of Paradise Right Here in the Midwest!

After just having ended my second stay in 1717, I am thrilled to say that I enjoyed both stays immensely in spite of the different purposes of each trip. Both trips were for girls' weekends, but one was a group of girlfriends and the other with girls in my family. The first trip was in the summer and we upgraded from camping to staying at Innsbrook. The chalet was beautiful and we were able to take advantage of the outdoor space completely. The deck is where we ate every meal and we spent a lot of time on the dock, paddle boat and floating in the water. The second trip had girls as well, but they ranged in age from 37 - 90. The house suited us perfectly. There were no stairs to get inside which was great for the oldest in the group, as was having a bedroom on the main floor. The house was very clean, the furniture is super comfortable and all the ammenities you need are right there. We made a fire every night and although we were only an hour from home, we felt like we were in some faraway treehouse in the woods. The house is so warm, cozy and inviting and the view is beautiful. Having Hanneken's right there on the resort property was perfect and the food was absolutely delicious! We were able to catch a movie after only having to drive about 10 minutes. It was a nice break from the hustle and bustle that we were all used to , yet just a short dirve away are movies, shopping, etc. I highly recommend this place and know that I'll definitely be going back! The owner is also fabulous to work with. She can be reached at any time should you have a problem, responds to emails promptly and makes enjoying the trip very easy!

What a Beautiful, Private Chalet Tucked Into The Woods!

This beautiful Chalet came complete with every amenity we could want. There is a deck out back, with a full view of the lake as well as a screened in patio. The stairs from the deck lead to a private dock where there is a paddleboat for a nice ride around the lake. The chalet is decorated very nicely and the owners are helpful in answering any questions you may have, giving tips of nearby attractions/activities as well. We really could not have asked for a more perfect getaway! My husband and I would both highly recommend this Chalet and will definitely return.

We just came back from the chalet lake home and I am so sad to be at work and not sitting on the dock overlooking the lake. We had a wonderful time and the home is beautiful, it is much prettier then the pictures show it. It is so peaceful and relaxing. When we drove in through the gate we were greeted by the most awesome sceenery and 8 turkeys and baby deer.! Then when I got up in the morning I had hummingbirds and woodpeckers to keep me company.This is one vacation I can say I came back rested and not exhausted. Sarah , thank you for allowing us to be a guest in your beautiful home, all I can say is we will be back!! I would definitely recommend this to my friends and family members

This chalet and its owner did everything to live up to expectations for a peaceful get-away. The chalet is clean, settled in a nice cove on a small lake. Hummingbirds loved it, too, while enjoying the feeder just outside the back door. This place provides the serenity needed to get away from the busy life outside Innsbrook. Although having WIFI helps when choosing to work at your own pace. This chalet is close enough to the main "attractions;" golf, tennis, pool, sandy beach; and provide enough opportunity for diverse enjoyment. Innsbrook provides a nice, quiet relief not too far from the city. The beds are clean and plenty comfortable. The property owner is quick to respond to issues to insure the stay is all it needs to be. 1717 is highly recommended! (Wish it was lower in rental costs. LOL)

Living less than a hour to this beautiful lakeside chalet is at the top of our "Traveling Samsonite Bucket List". The chalet was very clean and well-maintained. The jewel of this chalet are the stairs all the way from the house top deck to the bottom deck right on the water. Sitting on the bottom deck on the water with soft music, glass of wine, soft dim lights from neighboring homes and watching the moon come up was priceless. I highly recommend this beautiful vacation home for people with a busy lifestyle and need a weekend of relaxing.

Sarah has the chalet stocked with games, books, and extras ~ she's really thought of it all. FIVE stars!! "The chalet is AWESOME! We fed fish, there are tons of catfish at the dock! We played tinkertoys, took walks, played in the lakes and rode horses, too!! That was cool. Us kids want to come back for the whole summer next year, it was so awesome! I'm serious!!" Old Fashioned Fun!

I took my daughter and four of her friends for her 12th birthday party. They had so much fun returning to the simple pleasures of life. The peddleboat was a huge hit and they loved feeding the fish from the dock. They spent hours playing sand volleyball and shuffleboard. The loft area with the pull out sofa/sitting area, bedroom and bath allowed them their own space and I had my own private bedroom and bath downstairs. I was really able to enjoy myself too while relaxing on the screened in porch and deck. Everything we needed was provided from the ipod dock, dvds, games, and kitchen utensils. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by nature and the sounds of birds. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer to walk the trails and take in some other Innsbrook activiites. Several of the girls' mothers have told me that their daughters said they had a blast there. None of us wanted to leave. I can't wait to return again soon. This is the perfect close getaway for us and Sarah was wonderful to work with. She provided lots of information before we arrived and kept in close contact. The directions were dead on also! Thanks so much for sharing your little slice of heaven with us. We can't wait to return.

The chalet was on a beautiful, secluded site. It was clean and well-equiped. If anything, it even surpassed its description. Not only would we recommend it to friends and family, we hope we can stay there again ourselves! We enjoyed lunch at the grill at the clubhouse; the food was good and the service very attentive. We also had dinner at the Conference Center and it was excellent!

My husband and I were in need of a relaxing break, away from the busy, and stressful work world. The Bernard's Chalet turned out to be even better than we could have imagined. The weather was absolutely beautiful - allowing us to sip wine on the deck and take in the sunshine and the gorgeous views of springtime in bloom. The furnishings were topnotch and very comfortable and the many windows provided spectacular views from any location in the house! We had forgotten what "peace and quiet" really meant until now! Our dog was in heaven, too - she especially enjoyed watching the fish near the lower deck. We plan to come back soon for a longer visit and to see what changes the other seasons bring. Million dollar place

First of all I should say a big sorry to all readers for this very late review..the kind of wonderful stay my family had, i shud have written a review long back..but this was in the back of the mind for months..and so here i am writing a review...We had a few cousins visiting us back in saint louis, so i wanted to give them a surprise..and this chalet was a picture perfect place for that...they were thrilled to be in such a beautiful location, enjoying the the feel of the place and the beautiful lake nearby...we stayed there jus for a day and would love to go back, if we get a chance again...there was a good fireplace and still cant forget the candle light dinner...and the breakfast at the lakeside..i have no words..but this is a wonderfully kept chalet..clean, beautiful and luxurious...We stayed there almost eight months back..and cherish every moment of it..so dont miss a chance if u get to stay here :) thanks sarah..Thrithamara Srinivasan and family...

My family and I had a wonderful time here -- despite the fact that it snowed and our car didn't make it up the steep hill just before the chalet. Fortunately, we called the owner, Sarah, who was immediately responsive and called the maintenance guys to come and help out. It all worked out. Perhaps next time we'll try summertime. Just returned from a delightful two night fall foliage getaway. This chalet has all the modern amenities we desired and is surrounded by forest and sits on a lovely small lake. The owner provides everything for a comfortable, memorable respite from the busy world we left at home. We would definitely return. The stay was absolutely perfect! You have thought of almost everything in order to make your guests very comfortable and enjoy a most pleasant experience. We took in as much as we could.....swimming, fishing, horseback riding and even a horse drawn hayride Friday evening. Of course the weather was incredible, especially for July in Missouri. We discovered that my four year old grandson loves fishing and he caught his first fish ever right off your dock. We had a great time at the Chalet. Went with three couples and there was tons of space! We relaxed, fished, played games and had a great time! I recommend the chalet to any group of friends or family outing!

Very relaxing and quiet area. Our 16 year old daughter loved having the upstairs rooms to herself. The internet service (wireless) was great! I had to laugh when at one time all 3 of us were sitting in the front room on 3 laptops! The chalet offered all the necessary kitchen items. We loved sitting on the deck and enjoying the birds, especially the hummingbirds which came up to feed even with our dog on the deck. Feeding fish from the dock was fun too. We ended up feeding 3 racoons (by mistake) when we left some fish food on the dock one evening. Sarah was incredibly helpful in planning our time at Innsbrook, she even mailed us some brochures when she found out we were going to canoe the Meramec river while there. She also offered suggestions for day trips and where to grocery shop.

We stayed in the chalet with another couple for 3 days and it was top notch. It was comfortable and clean and well supplied. I would stay there again.
