VRBO Bear stayed here:
The pictures on VRBO did not do this beautiful property justice. There were elements everywhere that made the condo feel like a true mountain chalet. I loved the antler chandelier over the dining table, old black and white photos of the town framed in each room, snow shoes in the shape of a heart on the wall in the living room, and rustic wood furniture throughout the condo. Two great sized bedrooms with their own bathrooms made the property a perfect candidate for future trips with family or friends. The kitchen had everything we needed including an iPod docking station. There was a bottle of red wine and two glasses waiting on the expansive granite countertop in the kitchen. The living room had an awesome bear sized leather couch and with a collection of comfy pillows and throw blankets. One of the pillows read “Home is Where the Heart Is”. This was probably my favorite touch, and a perfect pillow for a vacation rental.
Arriving in the dark we hadn’t seen the mountains around us. The next morning I saw the view, which took my breath away. The condo was so close to Aspen mountain that we could see lifts from our living room! I couldn’t get over the views from our condo. I kept opening the patio door to go outside, take pictures, and just be closer to the mountainous backdrop. The condo was perfect for those who plan on coming to Aspen to snowboard or ski. We were given our own locker right outside for snowboards. There was also a giant wooden bench for our coats, gloves, hats, boots, goggles, etc. The shuttle down the street took us to Snowmass. After a day on the mountain we came back and read through magazines on the coffee table, enjoying a glass of wine and learning about famous diners and pubs to try. Our muscles were given a chance to recover in the hot tub.
The condo is within walking distance to every shop, restaurant, and bar in Aspen. Knowing that everything was a short walk away made planning unnecessary and allowed us to enjoy being on vacation. We walked down the street to get groceries. We were able to walk to the shuttle that took us to each mountain which was awesome. We didn’t use the rental car all weekend.
We shopped one afternoon, stopping at an old pub to enjoy a drink and watch the end of a basketball game. Dinner was Italian and I enjoyed one of the best plates of lasagna I’ve ever had. Aspen is the perfect spot for a bear! I fell in love with the crisp air, snowy mountains, friendly people and simple way of living. The property’s owner, Brian, made sure we were more than taken care of and was super responsive when I had questions about Aspen or the condo. I could not have asked for a better person to work with. On our drive back to Denver we talked about coming back every year and bringing friends, always staying in the same condo because it was so special to us. I’m so bearrrrr-y thankful to have been given the opportunity to experience such a beautiful place!

We arrived in Aspen after dark on Thursday night and I was tired and cranky after five hours on icy roads. My mood completely changed after walking into our condo! The pictures do not do the property justice, it was absolutely beautiful. There were elements everywhere that made the condo feel like a true mountain chalet! Arriving in the dark we hadn’t seen the mountains around us. The view took my breath away. The condo was so close to Aspen mountain that we could see lifts from our living room! The sun was shining and we walked down the street to get groceries for breakfast. How lucky were we that a supermarket was so close by? The kitchen had everything we needed including an iPod docking station where we played music to get pumped up for the day of snowboarding ahead! The condo was perfect for those who plan on coming to Aspen to snowboard or ski. We were given our own locker right outside for snowboards. There was also a giant wooden bench for our coats, gloves, boots, goggles, etc… I did not want this trip to end. Manager response: No, Thank YOU! :) What a wonderful review, thank you so much! I'm so happy that you enjoyed your vacation and condo, I always want our guests to have the best trip possible. Working in the travel industry for over 15 years in Aspen I've booked 1000's of hotel rooms, condos, and homes. I believe the Chateau Roaring Fork condos provide the best combination of quality, location, amenities and value, and I only mange units in this complex. I certainly hope you can come back again soon, there's other ways to avoid the 5 hour car ride as well. (United Airlines has last minute fares that come out on Tuesday for travel that weekend. You can fly directly into Aspen, and in just 15 minutes you will pass 3 ski mountains and arrive at the condo. We offer some great last minute discounts as well so it's a perfect way to run away for a long weekend for a fraction of what it would normally cost!) And I agree, you really don't need a car once you're in town when you stay at Chateau Roaring Fork, saving you even more. Thank you again, and hope you make it back to Aspen again soon.
We had a great stay at this condo. The location is very nice, and is an easy walk to the lifts or the bus area. We also were able to to walk into town easily for evening festivities. Hot tubs were nice and close as well. I would definitely rent again.

Great condo in great location!
Great condo in great location!
My family and I had a wonderful stay at this condo in July. The condo was spacious and clean (exactly as depicted and described on VRBO) and the perfect fit for my family. My husband and I were traveling with our 1 year old and my in-laws, so it was wonderful to have a full kitchen, laundry in the condo, 2 full bathrooms and access to the pool. The owner was so friendly and easy to work with and even recommended a wonderful baby gear rental company, which worked out great as well. The location is perfect--a really easy quick walk into town and even closer walking distance to the main market in town, which was great since we had the kitchen. The wifi in the condo worked really well too. We would definitely stay here again on another trip to Aspen.

Manager response: Thank you! This complex is really great for families or even a reunion. The conference room above the pool can also be rented out for larger parties, and the kiddie pool next to the hot tubs is a nice touch too. Thanks for being great renters and taking care of the unit, we would love to have you back again sometime!
This condo is perfect for those who want to be close to town! We never got in our car the whole time we were there. It is well decorated and spacious and working with the rental company couldn't have been more efficient and friendly. Thanks for a great stay!

Manager response: Thank you so much! We believe no other complex offers the same combination or quality, location, and amenities, especially for the price of our units. We often tell renters that they do not need a car while they are here being so close to town and also with the free bus that stops on site. I'm glad you enjoyed this unit and thank you for taking such great care of it while you were here. I hope you decide to return again! Thank you again.
Nice condo, well worth the money!
Nice condo, well worth the money!
We (2 couples) stayed at this property last week. The unit was immaculately clean and was very well equipped, with upscale appliances and great amenities, such as fireplace, huge heated outdoor pool and a hot tub. Complimentary firewood was also provided in an outdoor storage. We didn't even get to use some of the basic necessities, condiments and seasonings that we brought along, since most of them were provided by our generous host, who even left us a complimentary bottle of wine! The only missing items were the coffeemaker filters, but we luckily brought our own, even if those misfitted a bit. It was great to have two equally big bedrooms and nice bathrooms, with TVs in each bedroom. The living room TV could have been a little bigger though. It was also slightly odd, not being able to find an HDMI input in it, to connect a tablet to and watch our own movies; although this is barely a complaint, since we had HBO and a lot of other cable channels. The rate was very competitive, although we found a cleaning fee to be on a high side, given the fact that we did the dishes, took out the trash and left the unit in its initial state. Changing the bedding and washing the towels would hardly be worth $150. This condo complex is located within 15 min walking distance from Aspen's restaurants. We ended up driving, anyway, as the shuttle bus' schedule was quite infrequent, even when going to/coming back from the mountain. We would definitely come back, hopeful for far more snow!!!

Manager response: Thank you for your suggestions. We have been considering replacing the TV in the Living room with a larger unit and will certainly heed your request for an HDMI input. I will also make sure that we get more coffee filters as well. The free shuttle runs twice an hour but as you said, it's also a short walk and the off street parking does help. I'm sorry you felt the cleaning fee was a bit high. In addition to changing the bedding and washing the towels and sheets, it also covers a complete clean of the unit. All surfaces, scrubbing down the bathrooms, vacuuming all floors, and replacing any lightbulbs if necessary. I know that other companies charge far more and we try to offer fair prices (everything in Aspen costs us more too!) :) Cheers and hope you decide to return again!
I really enjoyed my stay here. It was in a quiet area close to Main St. The condo was spacious and clean! It looked up to date and a newly remodled kitchen. The Living room TV, however, was a bit small and hard to see from the couch. The price was very affordable and the renters were very easy to work with! Overall this was an excellent choice!!

Manager response: Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed the condo, the location is great and you really don't need a car when you stay here. I understand you thought the Living Room TV was a little small, we will look into an upgrade during off season. Cheers!
Perfectly located, comfortable condo, would definitely return. Good price for the location and size

The condo was located perfectly for us. Easy walk to town even for little kids, but back in a quiet area to get away from the crowds during the holiday. We slept great! The kids were in the pool all the time and Dad was having beers in the hot tub, perfect vacation. We'll be back.

Great unit! Great location, amenities, furnishings, etc. Would readily stay here again. I live in a ski town and this was my first trip to Aspen. This was a girls' getaway and this unit was perfect. Chateau was a great VRBO find.
