I grew up on the farm which includes this property. I built this house when I was in college at UGA many years ago. The cabin is a wonderful respite from the hustle and bustle in Athens. I started renting the cabin after I left for medical school in Augusta. I am now an Ob/Gyn in Asheville, NC where I currently live with my spouse and daughter.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
The property offers complete relaxation! While visiting there I enjoy fishing, swimming, and relaxing around the campfire.

What a relaxing retreat!

We had a wonderful time in the cabin this weekend! We have rented various lake houses and/or chalet houses in the past, but never have we stayed in a place that was so well-equipped, with every kitchen item we could want (not just pots and pans and dishes, but also a food processor, blender, muffin tins, wire whisks, and even chip clips...the little things you always wish for when you are away from home but don't want to schlep all the way to a vacation house). While we were there this weekend, we saw a host of wildlife, including geese, chipmunks, a rabbit, and several deer – there was even a small nosy deer that came all the way up on the porch and was caught looking into the cabin through the glass door! (We think it was Rudolph, checking to see if we were being nice)! We saw so many TAME inhabitants also, including Lance (a Terrier mix), Arthur (a Bulldog), Buster (an old Red Dog), and Hobbs (a Husky mix), two Arabian horses, the owner's sweet mother Nancy, who lives on the property, and Aunt Linda, who lives around the corner)! It was very nice to be so close to Athens’ activities but be so remote and secluded at the same time. Very close by is Georgia's largest flea market and a great bike/walking trail, that leads right into downtown Athens. There is so much to do here. We had a lot of fun! We can't wait to come back!

The cabin was wonderful. We had a blast rowing across the lake. The fishing was fun, only caught one,but got lots of bites. The cabin is decorated so nice and the location is away by itself, just like the picture. The kids and grandkids enjoyed sitting on the porch playing the board games. Jamie and her mother were so friendly and helpful! I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone that wants to be in a down home, relaxed atmosphere. We will be back!

My husband, adult children and their families had a wonderful weekend to celebrate the birthday of my grandson. Opportunities are few to spend peaceful time away from the cares of every day life, and we were thrilled to experience the serenity "off the beaten path" yet so close to the town of Athens. The setting is truly beautiful and the night sounds of the woods and lake were captivating. Dinner on the wraparound porch and rowing on the lake enticed us all to the outdoors. We will definitely return when possible--comfortable, inviting, secluded and spacious, these are just a few adjectives which aptly describes the setting. The photos presented a true glimpse of what to expect, and we've already recommended a similar visit to my sister and her family who hope to visit in the next few months.

A perfect getaway! Located just 20 mins from UGA. It was the perfect reunion spot for my family to meet for my daughters launch into freshman yr at UGA! The owners are helpful and mother lives on property up the road! Cabin is appointed with all the comforts of home and I just can't say enough about the beauty of the views of lake and the overall setting of the cabin. We all enjoyed rowing on the lake and fishing! The cabin was more than we ever expected. Highly recommend this property!! We hope to return!

This lovely cabin was the perfect location for our family gathering. The furnishings were comfortable and charming, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The huge wrap-around porch was the perfect setting for relaxing on the porch swing or enjoying an outdoor barbecue. The location was just beautiful, with the lake for fishing and the woods surrounding the cabin. I am only sorry that we did not discover this cabin sooner, as our son just graduated from UGA and is moving to Iowa. I would recommend this cabin for any family that is visiting their UGA student, as it's price is not much more than the cost of a hotel room, and it is much better!
