Loved our honeymoon so much that we want to retire in Careyes!

My husband and I rented this condo for 2 weeks for our honeymoon. We arrived through puerto Vallarta airport and rented a car. The drive was very nice and picturesque. Upon arriving at El Careyes, we were greeted by very friendly and accomodating staff. The breeze and views were hypnotizing. I've enver felt so relaxed (I'm not a fan of resort style destinations bc they're usually loud and too touristy - this is definitely not). The pool overlooking the ocean and outdoor lounge with the bonfire pit was the perfect serene romantic destination we were hopting for. Our room was very clean and the bed had local red & pink flowers shaped into a heart which I thought was a sweet touch. The food at the restaurant was AMAZING and very affordable. For breakfast we had such things as huevos rancheros or yogurt with fresh local fruits, granola and honey. The french pressed coffee and capuccinos were great too. I highly recommend doing the oceanside private dinner for 2 which invoved a torch lit walkway to our own table at sunset, multi course meal with wine or beer and our private waiter (we did this on our last night but wished we would have done one more). As for things to do, you can either lay out by the pool or lay out in one of the many cabanas on the beach. There's a wonderful spa that has indoor jacuzzi, gym, showers and massage rooms. We had a very relaxing couple's massage that was great. There's kayaking, snorkling and there are seasonal excursions that can be set up by the front desk. There's also a private theatre just for guests where you can pick what dvd to play. Honestly, we just loved relaxing in the outdoor couches listening to the ocean. We also loved getting breakfast sent to the room and having it on our balcony overlooking the pool & ocean. We came back the following year for our 1 year wedding anniversary and plan on going back every year. Also, even though we don't have children, we did notice other couples who were there with children and were having a great time. From what I noticed, the front desk can find you a local nanny, or maybe the owner of this condo also knows of a local nanny if needed.

Wow, what a fantastic trip we had! My husband and I spent our holiday in Costa Careyes, and the apartment was just the place we were looking for. Clean, beautifully decorated, and of course the fantastic sunset. We were also able to use all the hotel amenities which was a great added benefit! Will definitely be back!
