I rented the property to a have girls weekend. We are all from the souther california area so we knew the area is not near any big shopping or entertaiment areas. The place was very clean, it has a great kitchen that we used and a great fireplace with great views. It was my first home away experince and the owner made it simple for me. We have already talked about renting the place again. If you are not from the area, you should know that even if the beach is across the freeway, there is no easy access to it and you must be aware that there is a major freeway with construction right in front of the property.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at this property. We found it to be much larger than we expected. The owner was very easy to work with and the condition of the rental was clean and cozy. We were suprised that the noise from the freeway could hardly be heard in the bedroom. If we had any complaints it would be that we were there to visit friends in Santa Barbara and when returning to the house going South you have to drive about 5 miles past it to turn around and drive back North...however it does give you an reason to check the surf at Little RinconRecommended for: Adventure seekers
Owner response: Thanks so much Jesse! Appreciate the kind words! Jesse's right.....When driving down from Santa Barbara, you do have to go an extra 2 miles past the house to go under the 101 highway and enter the town on North bound entrance. Ends up being about a extra 4 mile loop/5 minutes drive but, atleast your looking at the Oceanside the whole way!!

To begin with, during the 6 months leading up to our stay the owner was easy to communicate with and very kind. Upon our arrival we found the town-house to be everything advertised and so much more. Exceptionally clean, nicely decorated and very welcoming; we loved it immediately! The view was awesome, especially through the binoculars we brought, the beach access was opened while we were there and the beach was amazing. While there are no shops, coffee or otherwise if you require those things, they are only about five minutes away. We thought it was even more charming because of the fact. Actually there was a little produce tent which went up everyday with a variety of fresh produce and fruit. Sooo good! Lastly, the people of La Conchita were very nice to us, even though we were not " live-ins". And while we didn't expect it, we met the owner and he was was friendly, relaxed, helpful, and great all around. As aresult of our experience, we will continue to rent this home each year for as long as it is available!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Pros: Ocean view, proximity to Santa Barbara, overall size, cleanliness, very nice and accommodating owners, giant bathtub, large/long bathroom, spacious living room, 2 fireplaces (non functioning), well stocked kitchen, Quiet bedroom, community is away from all the business of a city setting. Cons: Noise from freeway right in front of your place, 15 million light switches, living room/kitchen upstairs - bathroom downstairs makes for a lot of stair climbing, no beach access while we were there (although climbing through a skinny drainage pipe to get to the ocean isnt exactly what I'd call "beach access" anyway), cracked my head on the underside of the stairs when I quickly stood up in the bathtub (ouch). Got a little chilly...had to contact owner to actually have him turn up the heat since there is no thermostat in the guest unit (pain), Construction with massive machinery bangin away right in front of the place while we were there...AT NIGHT! Overall for the discounted rate we got it wasnt all bad since we essentially just slept there (we were out doing stuff all day and night every day) but if I had paid full price for this rental I would have been a little frustrated.Owner response: "Great News" we are currently getting a new beach access tunnel put in thats set to be finished by late summer/early fall 2012! There is construction on the highway during the M-F 8-5 hours and there will be very occassional times when they will be working nights. (Maybe 4 times or less per month) In the meantime, we do encourage all renters to use other beach accesses like Rincon point which is within a mile including bathrooms, parking, easy access to the beach. There plenty of other beaches as well within a 5 mile radius as well. If you really want to access the La Conchita beach, you can park on the southbound side of the Hwy 101 and climb down to a nice mile long beach in front of the property. Lastly, we do have our vacation rental heating on an auto set thermostat for a comfortable 68* temperature. If you need more heat, we do provide an extra portable plug in heater in the master bedroom closet. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us anytime! Thank you, Kirk

What a fantastic time we had staying at this little gem!! The view is amazing, the bed is one the most comfy beds we've slept in and to top it off the jacuzzi tub is soooo relaxing! It's right across the tracks and fwy from a private little beach that you walk through a tunnel to get to, 5 mins away from Carpinteria and a short drive to S.B!! We actually got married so this was the perfect spot for us to get away from the rest of the craziness! A huge Thank You to Kirk (the owner) for all that you did for us!!! We will definitley be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a very relaxing stay at this place. The owner was helpful & responsive. The place was great & open. Towels & linens were provided. Gas grill was nice. We really enjoyed the sunset view from the living room & patio/deck area. The only thing we didn't like was the route back to the house when coming from SB or northern area... no left turn lane to get to the property due to construction; we had to drive passed the property going southbound to do a u-turn at the nearby hotel before getting back to 101N to finally get back to the property. It can get very confusing & easy to miss especially at night. Hopefully, the route will be easier after the construction. We would love to stay here again. :)Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This little home was perfect. With family & friends up & down the coast we were able to visit in a comfortable location & travel easily on PCH from La Conchita. Watching dolphins right out the window was always a beautiful sight. The bed & bath were exceptional. We highly recommend this property & look forward to staying here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing

My wife and I rented this property for a week, and we loved it. The main living area is bright and sunny with lots of windows giving a nice view of the ocean. We saw dolphins a couple times and pelicans every day. The memory foam bed was really comfortable -- made us think about getting one for our next bed. The kitchen and bathroom are great. We really felt at home the whole time. One downside is the beach access. If you are tall (as I am) or claustrophobic, the beach access tunnel will be an ordeal, as the ceiling is quite low, and gets lower halfway through. There are other ways to get to the beach if you drive a little ways on the PCH, however. The noise from the highway didn't bother us at all (it's just white noise). The train is louder, but didn't bother us too much.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We recently stayed at your home in La Conchita and this was by far the best rental we have stayed in while renting from VRBO. Where many properties boast about their amenities but fall short, this house was incredibly understated. Everything that the owner has written about his property is true and then some. We hardly noticed any of the traffic noise. The furniture was extremely comfortable, the view was amazing, everything was very relaxing. We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

What beautiful views! & location is great, look out the window to north & see if Rincon is firing, or drive less than 15mins south to C St Ventura. House is great too, upstairs is warm & bright, downstairs is cozy & bed is very soft, not to mention the whirlpool tub was great way to relax. My wife & I really enjoyed staying here & look forward to visiting again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

The place is absolutely magnificent. The short walk to the beach took us away to the private beach that was so breathe taking. The sunsets are bold yet calming. Lastly, the duplex is a 25 on a scale from 19 to 24. WHAT!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My wife and I enjoyed our stay here generally, but the 101 is between the house and the beach, and it does get quite noisy if you have any windows/doors open. It becomes a bit of a conundrum when it is hot upstairs and noisy with the windows open. Other than that, this is a great location with lots to offer.Did you find this review helpful? Great house, great neighbors! Three different people offered us use of their surfboards. We spent mornings with our coffee by the huge windows and nights tucked in the comfy bed. The bedroom is on the back side of the house and is quiet as a tomb, which makes it very easy to oversleep. House had everything I needed and was decorated with easy comfort in mind. Located right on 101, quick trip to Santa Barbara and still close enough to LA. Would definitely stay there again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3
