Why the Owner Chose Charlotte Amalie
I chose this location for my house for the incredible views, constant breeze and central location to everything.
The Unique Benefits at this House
What we like the best is having group meals on the balcony with the cool breeze and great views. You cannot go to any restaurant in St Thomas and have nearly as good views as we have right from our decks. You truly have a 300 degree view from the balcony and the pool deck. Another bonus is the house is so high on the mountain the temperature is consistently 8 degrees cooler than down by the water. 66-70 at night and 74 to 82 during the day, could not ask for anything better.
Located at almost the highest point on St Thomas. Most incredible views, breezes and foliage plus great house, pool and decks.
Great place for kids and snorkeling. Has a nice little restaurant at Larrys Hideway just next to the beach that is very kid friendly
Great place to go with the kids to see sharks, rays, bird etc at Coral World and when you are done doing Coral World you can snorkel on Coki beach
Family friendly and great deck to eat outside. You can also call in for orders to go. Very close to house and huge portions
This grocery story will have almost everything you need if you are just missing a few items
Very good grocery store with everything you will need including fresh meat, organic vegetables etc..

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your villa. The views from the villa were amazing and was very nice and comfortable - I would have been just as happy staying at the villa the whole week as I was touring the island. I loved using the binoculars at the villa; it was fun investigating the island and its wildlife from the comforts of the covered porch. The books there were also a nice touch and added to our relaxation. The beaches on St. Thomas and St. John were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen!! Island driving was an adventure, but fun once we got used to it!! Thanks, again for sharing your villa with us. We look forward to visiting again, Deb H. Cincinnati OH

Blue Horizons Villa is the perfect place to enjoy St. Thomas and to have a "home-base" for day trips to neighboring islands. The view is so spectacular and the house is very charming, spacious and relaxing - a perfect getaway in the Caribbean. We were welcomed at the airport by Debi, the house manager, and she provided us with excellent advice and recommendations and made us feel very welcome. She checked in on us frequently and made us feel so welcome and taken care of. We loved the location of the villa - we felt as though we were close to everything yet being up on top of the mountain gave us beautiful views, quiet away from the busy town and cool Caribbean breezes that kept the heat and bugs away. This villa (and Debi) are true treasures of St. Thomas - you can't help but feel relaxed and happy sitting by the pool watching cruise ships come and go. Also, every meal we ate out was excellent; from burgers to seafood and from little pubs to fancier restaurants, we enjoyed each meal very much. Thank you to Louis for the suggestion to begin each greeting with "Good morning, good afternoon," etc. ~ we found people to be very polite and friendly and we were happy to know the proper way to greet one another on St. Thomas. Thank you to Debi for recommending Sib's; we arrived on a Sunday evening when many shops & restaurants were closed - Sib's was open and we had a delicious meal and just a short ride back to the villa afterwards - we enjoyed it so much we ate there again at the end of our trip. We had a fabulous vacation at Blue Horizons Villa and we recommend it very highly.
Owner response:Melissa thank you very much for the glowing review and I hope to see you back next year.

Six of us ladies from Wisconsin spent a week at this wonderful home away from home and couldn't have asked for anything better. The villa was roomy, clean, had everything we needed, and was a quiet, serene place for all of us to unwind and find some "quiet" in our lives. We ventured out pretty much every day for some reason or another and driving the windy, hilly roads were quite an adventure to say the least. Hopefully we'll get the rental van back to the airport in one piece. We always loved coming home to our awesome view and quiet away from the crowds. Debi was great and was there for anything we needed. We did have a trasher bird that seemed to think he was staying with us for the week. One night we came home from dinner and found him in the master bedroom eating a candy bar that he found on the bedside table. We had quite a laugh trying to get him coaxed outside. We came across a few other strange critters, but it kept things interesting. As far as activities & restaurants - we ate at Duffy's Love Shack and Hook, Line & Sinker which were just "okay"....Iggies on the Beach was our favorite. We spent the afternoon at their beach, had a great dinner, and stayed for the live music. We spent a day at St. John's also which is something everyone should do when staying on St. Thomas. We ate a few of our meals right here at the villa and ate out on the deck with the wonderul twinkling lights of the harbors. It was something we've never experienced before on a vacation. Louis & Debi - thank you so much for everything you have done to make our vacation week the best it could be. We couldn't have asked for anything more. These Wisconsin Girls are sad to have to go back home to below zero temps and the new 20 inches of snow that fell while we were gone. Thanks again for a wonderful vacation!
Owner response:Thank you for your kind words. I am very happy that you had a good time and hope to see you back soon.

We stayed in this lovely villa with three other couples who came to St. Thomas to attend a beach wedding. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived as the views from this villa were magnificent. We so enjoyed the pool and were pleased it was out in the sun. However, it we wanted shade there were four large umbrellas with double wide lounge chairs under each. The porch was used as we ate all meals outside. The house was extremely clean, bright, and very cheerful. We would definitely stay here again. We appreciated the way the villa was kept up. Thanks for making this a memorable time for us.

This house was great for our two combined families. This owner is wonderful to work with, and it is extremely nice to have someone on the island while you are there that can respond to the guests (he has someone that is local that you can call for information or assistance.) The private pool was my son's favorite part of the trip. I would highly recommend St. Thomas and this particular house. You cannot have a better view!!

Just a quick note to say thanks for allowing us to stay at your home during our vacation to saint thomas. It was a beautiful property and we all had so much fun there & exploring the islands. When I first walked into the house I was happy to see that it was nicer than the pictures had shown. Debbie was so wonderful and welcoming. My only regret is only staying one week. There is so much to see and do it was hard to pack everything into just one week. The house was beautiful with great views. Everything was as it is described. Very large, open rooms, high ceilings. We had everything we needed at the house.

Ideal St Thomas Setting

We had a wonderful week at your St Thomas house! The view, pool, and layout of the house made it an ideal setting. My parents travelled with us so having the bedroom downstairs meant that they did not have to get up at the crack of dawn with our 3 and 1 year old girls! The full size crib meant our 1 year old slept just as good as she does at home and everyone was happy! Mornings on the porch were one of our favorite times of the day. The house and surrounding property had plenty for the girls to explore-namely the iguana's, lizards, and birds! We definitely enjoyed dinners on the porch and in fact, grilled out every night we were there. We appreciated the fact that it was a bit cooler up at the house than down on the beach. Magen's Bay Beach was superb. We were a little worried about having to drive to the beach rather than walk but Magen's Bay Beach is so convenient that we often went there twice in a day. Beautiful sand, lots of shade when we felt hot, crystal clear water, and friendly people. The house and location totally suited us and the needs of our young children. If we return to St Thomas we would love to stay at your place again!
Owner response:Thank you for all of the kind words and we hope to have you back in the future.

My husband and I stayed at this great house in February. It was just the place we needed to escape and unwind from the Indiana winter snows. The home was extremely comfortable with plenty of room for any size family, couples or a girls vacation. Very clean. The view of the island from this mountain house deck are absolutely breath taking. The photos listed are up to date and accurate. The owner and property manager were very courteous and were there to assist with any requests. A car/suv 4x4 is a must for this location.
Owner response:Susie, I really appreciate the kind words and hope to see you back next year. Susie mentioned that you need a 4x4 but this is only if you plan on going off of the main roads. I just rent a little compact when I go and it is fine. There are very few places on the island that you really need a 4x4 and typically not places tourists will even know about.

A perfect retreat in St. Thomas! The house is simply amazing. The view from the balcony is the most beautiful view on the island. It is open, spacious and comfortable for more than one family traveling together. The balcony provides a beautiful setting for dining or peaceful moment reading in the hammock. The pool and deck are an added bonus. The house has great linens and a fully stocked kitchen. We would love to rent this amazing retreat year after year. The owners know everything there is to know about the island. They were so helpful in planning a perfect vacation! It is fabulous!
Owner response:Thanks for the great review we hope to see you year after year.

I fell in love with this beautiful home. I could have not left the property for the entire vacation! The home was clean and decorated so beautifully. The linens where that of a 5 star resort and the owner was so helpful to us. The 5 minute drive to the beach was great and the restaurants close by were delicious....but we ate a lot of meals at the house and sat outside on the patio and just enjoyed. One of my favorite things was to wake up every morning and watch the cruise ships come in! I cant wait to go back to the beautiful island of St Thomas.
