The location of this property is a huge strength. It is walking distance to a park along the cliffs with a walking/running trail. Staying here gave us a good feel for "living in San Fran". The property is clean and maintained. It is about a 20 minute drive downtown. You would have to walk about 15-20 min to ge to a local shop. Owner was helpful in answering our questions. What we did not know until we arrived is that the floors are very creaky and doors are squeaky. This was not ideal at night when some people were asleep and you're awake. We had the downstairs apt and some guests arrived in the upstairs apt. the evening of our penultimate night. The walls/floors are very thin so we could here each footstep loud and clear as well as music and conversations without difficulty. They were not present our last night but if they were, it would have been irritating. These were the only negatives of the place.

We stayed 6 days /5 nights at Seal Rock Dr, and we had a marvelous time. Just steps from the Sutro Bath ruins and beautiful /scenic walking/hiking trails, we walked every day, sometimes twice or three times, to various spots; sunsets every evening were spectacular. The neighborhood was nice and quiet (not sure if it's always that way, or it was just the after-Christmas lull), and we felt like we were truly relaxing even though we were in a big city. The back porch is perfect for lazy afternoon reading, and night-time star gazing. The unit was sparkling clean, with a gourmet kitchen decked out with everything you need, if you like to cook. Great restaurants / delivery nearby, too. All in all, a perfect spot.

This is a nice and accommodating space. We loved the proximity to the beach...very scenic, and though we had a rented car, mass transit to downtown wouldn't have been hard. There were four adults in our party, and the small bath was a a bit of an impediment. More hooks and towel rods wild have helped. The kitchen was great.

Great location, wonderful apartment, with an incredible kitchen. Perfect place to enjoy downtown, but far enough away it is quiet and peaceful. Fantastic walking trails just down the road.

Our recent stay at Seal Rock Dr. was perfection ! We had sunshine and fog, rain and dry days over the four day visit to San Francisco for a wedding. I am so glad we decided to opt for staying out by the ocean with easy access to all areas of the city especially the Noe Valley where most of the happy events occurred. The decor was beautiful and comfortable. Our adult daughter who met us there for our stay never wanted to leave. She decided it had everything she needed to be happy and we agreed. We did not take advantage of the amazing 6 burner Viking stove or the fire place, but should we be lucky enough to go back, cooking will be part of the plan. The location is ideal in that we were able to be at the beach in 5 minutes at most and took advantage of walks along the beach each day. The owners, Marie and Jim were wonderful, accomodating and helpful. We felt like we were staying at the house of friends. It was such fun to open the window at night to catch the cool air and curl up on the comfortable bed under the down comforter. We will contact you again when we return to San Francisco. We are telling all of our friends about how easy it was to find this flat and work with Marie to book it. Thank you for your hospitality!

Seacliff was everything it advertised. Everything we needed was there and there were clear directions provided. The beds were great! The trails were beautiful and minutes away is The Cliff House and the beach if you are a hardy soul. The only drawback we had was our TMobile phones didn't work in the apartment.

We spent several days during our family road trip at this condo. We have three children, ages 4, 10 and 13. There was room enough for the 5 of us. We really loved the location. It was the perfect place for getting some fresh sea air after a long day in the car. Despite hitting all of the great tourist locations in San Francisco, the best moments for us were the hiking trails near the condo with the great view of the sea and Golden Gate Bridge. The pictures and description on the VRBO site were accurate. We would definitely love to stay here again.

This is a gorgeous place and a block from the roiling pacific. We walked several times to the Cliff House - fabulous food and best views in the City. The kitchen had everything we needed so we ended up cooking more than we probably intended. This part of the City is a distance from the touristy attractions if this is your first visit, but we had a car and the flat had a garage so we were set. If you want to chill in a lovely flat with a fireplace and enjoy walks along the ocean this place can't be beat.

The surrounding area is just breathtaking. The hikes to the cliffs, the Sutor ruins and the beach were magical. Very comfy. We stayed four nghts with our 23 and 17 year old daughters. Location was super. Near golden gate bridge and a short drive to Sausalito and Muir woods. Within 20 minutes of anywhere you'd want to go. Great kitchen too, although our cooking was limited to the toaster oven microwave and coffee maker. Luxury at a great value. We would definitely love to stay here again.

Our family spent Spring Break 2010 at this lovely two bedroom flat. We have three sons, ages 3,6 and 10. There was room enough for the 5 of us. The boys loved the location. Some of their favorite moments from the trip were hiking on the trails and beach right by the house. We were very familiar with San Francisco as we used to live in the Bay area and we knew this would be a great location for a family get-away. We were not disappointed. Everything was as advertised and we would stay here again on a future visit.

We wanted a alternative to hotel stays while visiting San Francisco. We found the price of hotels and lack of parking to be disappointing at the least when we last visited SF. This home was THE perfect alternative. It is as amazing, exactly as advertised and in an excellent location; away from the noise of the city but close enough to enjoy it. The beds were large and comfortable, the kitchen was roomy and a joy to use and the living room allowed us to kick back after a fun day in SF. My family enjoyed this vacation very much and the accommodations this home provided went a long way in helping us enjoy our trip. Hopefully we can return sometime.

WOW what a place and comes with a great location. We spent 6 nights here with my husband, our two boys and my dad. The house is in a great location about a block from Cliff House and the most scenic walks in San Francisco. We travelled by public transport into Fishermans Wharf, downtown, and the Golden Gate Park. It was so very very easy. The house itself was brilliant with everything that a travelling family required and then some. If your coming to SF you really should consider this area it has so much more to offer. PS if you do come do the cliff side walk.

146 Seal Rock is a great place to stay and so conveniently located to the city. I have just returned home from San Francisco and would stay at the same place again if I ever went back. I enjoyed being so close to the ocean but yet very close to the city. Great restaurants within walking distance. Linda Dixon

We had a great time staying at this place. I had friends visiting from out of state and I wanted them to see a part of San Francisco most tourists do not visit. The weather was perfect for our visit. We enjoyed breakfast at the Cliff House, walking along the bluffs above the ocean and visiting Golden Gate Park and the Presidio. Will stay again.

The 4 Cs: CHEERFUL, CLEAN, COZY, and CONTEMPORARY make 146 Seal Rock a real gem! Upon arriving, the place was immaculate. The kitchen, dining room, and living room are bright, sunny, and offer ocean views. The entire flat is beautifully decorated and I was surprised to find the beds and bedding to be more comfortable than my own at home! The owners, Jim and Marie were not only accommodating, but very informative. They pointed us in the direction of some fantastic restaurants and shared the history of the Cliff House and Sutro Baths which made exploring these local points of interest even more special. On top of all that, I found their pricing to be very reasonable compared to other similar rentals. And the use of their parking space and back deck only added to the convenience of this centrally located flat! My stay at 146 Seal Rock definitely beat any hotel and would recommend it to anyone!

I rented this flat with three other friends, all coming from different places in the US. The place was just as advertised; 2 bedrooms, with plenty of linens, towels, etc. for four women. The communal areas were very comfortable, with plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. It was great having a place for all of us to gather! The place was such a treat to return to after a day of sight seeing. I would take this over a blandly decorated hotel room any day of the week!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely flat. It is both well-located and has the comforts of home so you can make yourself cozy by the fire, or take in the gorgeous views. It's walking distance to the Cliff House, Sutro Baths, coastal trail and a few restaurants as well as Ocean Beach. You just could not ask for a better spot with all of these things and more. Definitely a place to enjoy SF and one we would like to return to sometime!

I absolutely loved my time at Seal Rock. The apartment is great - comfortable, clean, quiet and cozy with plenty of amenities. But the experience there is about much more than the property itself. Some of the most beautiful views in San Francisco - or the country, in my opinion - are just outside the front door. A few steps down the street takes you to a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean - great for watching sunsets standing amid the tall grasses and trees above it all. To the left are the historic Sutro Baths where waves crash on the rocks. Beyond them, the Cliff House, a beautiful building and great place for drinks and dinner with incredible views of the water and Ocean Beach below, which runs for miles in the distance. If, instead, you turn to the right, you enter a beautiful network of paths and the Coastal Trail, which runs for almost two miles along the jagged forested coast line, affording stunning views of the ocean below and the Golden Gate Bridge in the distance. It's the perfect place for a trail run or walk and a picnic. All that right outside the front door and all within a short bus ride of the busier parts of San Francisco. If you want to explore San Francisco, but would prefer a more tranquil spot to do it from, this is a great one. It's beautiful!
