The Carriage House is nestled in Old Town Safety Harbor. In 3 minutes you walk to the Pier on Tamps Bay, the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa, the Post Office and Starbucks. There are seven Restaurants within a 10 minute walk including the 'Almost Famous' Whistle Stop Grill where you will find outdoor seating , a laid back atmosphere and live music at least 3 nights per week..
The Carriage House' unique architecture and fenced back yard will make you feel like you stepped back in time..to a slower pace. ..Built in 1925 the Carriage House was originally just that- 'a carriage house 'not far from Green Springs Resort. It is the oldest wooden structure in Safety Harbor.
Step out on the brick patio for breakfast and have a drink on the wood deck at night. The bedroom is a second floor large loft with a large window to view the Bay about 100 yds away.
There is a working fireplace, TV and DVD, and a full kitchen.

We felt so away from it all..but yet very close to everything. The back patio was our sanctuary. And within minutes we could be on Main St. downtown . The Whistle Stop Dinner was a highlight..thank you very much.
We enjoyed the bikes & Kyacks you provided and all of your great suggestions of what to do & see in the area.

This place is even more beautiful than the pictures portray. The cottage is spotless, beautifully decorated and in a fantastic location! The cute little town of Safety Harbor is a short walk around the corner. There are many things to do nearby without even driving your car. You feel like you are in your "home away from home" the minute you walk in. The cottage has so much character, yet it provides all of today's amenities. The owners are friendly and helpful . If you are looking for a one of kind get away, not your run of the mill lodging , and want something to write home about...I highly recommend this place! We have been wintering at The Carriage House for the past 5 years. We absolutely adore being there. It is so quaint & comfortable. It feels as though you stepped back in time & life slows down. Yet it has all the amenities of today and is close to everything. You can walk the Safety Harbor Spa, The Marina , Philippe Park and downtown. Downtown has many good restaurant and bars and a few cool shops. Clearwater Beach is 10 miles west & Tampa is 10 miles East. The hosts, of the Carriage House Dawn & Patrick ,own The Whistle Stop that is in downtown Safety Harbor. It is an Old Florida restaurant & bar with great food & live music. They always give a gift card to come down to the restaurant as their guest. Dawn & Patrick have owned both the Carriage House & the Whistle Stop for 16 years. They are wonderful hosts. Enjoyed our stay very much, house was clean and nicely decorated. Owners are very friendly as was their dog (Marley) who payed us many visits. Safety Harbor is one of our favorite little towns, looking forward to next year.Owner response: We love hosting wonderful people in our cottage by the sea! Safety Harbor is a friendly, fun' Mayberry' kinda town with lots of cool places to shop & eat & drink. We also invite our guests to come to our own restaurant here in Safety Harbor, The Whistle Stop!
