Memories Are Made at Eagle's Nest!
Year Purchased: 2000
Why the Owner Chose Westcliffe
We have traveled all over the world, but still love the unpretentious laid back atmosphere of the towns of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff, the ranching valley and the majestic peaks of the Sangre de Cristos. If you are an early riser, you can see the morning sunrise cast it's first rays on the mountains, causing them to have a red glow for a few seconds. This is what caused the Spanish explorers to name the mountains Sangre de Cristo meaning "blood of Christ".
The Unique Benefits at this House
Relaxation with a capital R is our favorite pastime at Eagles Nest. Actually having time to read, take a nap or watch the sunset from our high ridge is a real luxury. There is very good dining in the area if you don't want to cook. Outdoor activities abound in the area. Eagles Nest is a perfect spot from which to take a variety of day trips to other parts of Colorado.
Owner's Map of Westcliffe
Westcliffe and the Sangre de Cristo mountains have been a part of our families since the mid 1950's. Both our parents fell in love with the area and built summer cabins up in the Sangre de Cristos. In 2000 we had an opportunity to purchase a home across the valley with the most amazing views of the mountains and spectacular sunsets over the mountain range. It's a completely different perspective to all the years of being in the mountains. We still own one of the original log cabins built in 1955, but spend a great deal of time at Eagle's Nest Vacation House enjoying the solitude and quiet of the location.

My family thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful home and the wonders of what God made in Colorado! Your home is very comfortable and we enjoyed every minute of our week long stay, especially the awesome, unobstructed mountain view. We sledded on the adjacent hillside, drove the short 1 1/2 hours to Monarch to ski one day, had lunch in a small Westcliffe cafe, drove around some of the beautiful mountain communities near by, and had great family time. Thank you for opening your home to us!
Owner response:We are so pleased that Eagle's Nest fulfilled your expectations and provided a great family experience for you. The majesty of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range, especially in the winter, is amazing to see.

We loved being close to great hiking trails, fishing spots, river rafting, picnic areas and also San Isabel National Forest. We also enjoyed the good shopping & variety of restaurants nearby. The views from the house of the mountains were breathtaking. We also enjoyed all the wildlife in the area... So many deer, antelope, big horn sheep, chipmunks and beautiful birds.

My family just spent that last week at Eagle's Nest and have been very pleased with our choice of rental home. The listing and photos were accurate, but didn't fully do the place justice. The views, wildlife and stars were amazing. The solitude was very relaxing. However, it was the little things that made the difference - things like multiple walk-in closets (for napping the babies), miscellaneous items in the pantry and fridge (to avoid the trip to town for ketchup) and really good cell phone reception (an unexpected plus when experiencing solitude). Thanks for a great week!
Owner response:Eagle's Nest does provide a unique opportunity to really relax and enjoy the peace and quite. Our goal is to provide guests with the best vacation home experience possible. Thank you for selecting Eagle's Nest for your families vacation!

I can't say enough about this home! The view was amazing! My dad woke up early enough to take pictures of "The Blood of Christ Mountains". Beautiful!!!! we stayed at this awesome home for 5 days. It was very peaceful and relaxing. The home had everything we needed in it. The animals that we saw were deer, rabbits,a humming bird that came to our kitchen window every morning, and a family of blue birds feeding there young. We all had a GREAT time. We all do recommend this home very highly. We wold very much like to stay there again~~ Sincerely, The DiMarco Family

We had a great first visit to Colorado. Eagle’s Nest is just as pictured and described and we had everything we needed for our stay. The view of the mountains is awesome and we loved the privacy as well. Westcliffe is a cute town with nice shops and friendly people. We would love to go back when there is snow on the ground!
Owner response:We are so pleased that you enjoyed Eagle's Nest and the amazing views as well as the town of Westcliffe. A vacation to an area that is not overly developed can be a real treat. The fall and early winter months are just as wonderful as the summer in the valley and we hope you can make another visit to Eagle's Nest for a little taste of winter.

You have a beautiful home! We had a wonderful time - enjoyed the views, cooking in the kitchen and frankly fell in love with the place! So much so that we have started to think about buying property in Westcliffe, but in the interim, we hope we can stay at your place again.
