- Bike riding is a must in this coastal community. You can ride for approximately 4 miles along the coast, and to the Oceanside Harbor. You can also ride the coast highway to Carlsbad for a change of pace. Seasonal whale watching. Dolphins swim by very close almost daily. Surf breaks right in front of home and up and down the coast.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
Oceanside is a wonderful area to vacation in. Its a very bike friendly community and you can literally park your car, and walk or bike to almost anything. It is also colorful with all different types of people which makes for very fun people watching.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The home is REALLY beautiful and very comfortable, you are able to really relax and enjoy the view. With approximately 4300 square feet, it is perfect for large groups or families of varying ages. The downstairs game room is perfect for extra sleeping space if needed as there is room for the roll away beds and a full bathroom. Not to mention the pool table, comfy chairs and a sofa, wet bar complete with refrigerator, microwave and a dishwasher.
The 4 car garage and two car driveway, make beach parking a breeze and provide storage for the many bikes that are at your disposal. Riding bikes in Oceanside is one of the best things about vacationing in Oceanside, The Strand where this home sits goes for about three miles and you can then decide to go right to the Harbor for some fish and chips, or to a local brewery for a handcrafted beer. On Thursday's its nice to either walk or bike to the local street fair. Its a famrkers market type in the morning and becomes food fest int he evening. You will find almost every kind of food you could dream, and live music, fun people watching. There are some really good restaurants that have opened up in Oceanside and you can walk or bike to almost all of them.

"Glorious!!" We arrived at the house after driving down a beautiful frontage road leading to the last house on the Strand, "Our house" The first thing we noticed besides the beautiful beach to our right was the gorgeous deck overlooking the Pacific ocean. We pulled into the garage and noticed all of the beach and bike equipment to satisfy anyone...bikes, boogie boards, kites, pales, shovels, chairs, umbrellas. Upon entering we noticed the big game/TV room with a big cozy couches. Perfect for the kids. We went upstairs and there was a sprawling kitchen, dining room and great room. Which drew us again to that deck ahhh we made it to heaven!! There were lounge chairs and a BBQ out there where I was already planning our first BBQ. The bedrooms were big and lovely. The master was especially nice with a huge bathroom and tub. The linens were of the highest quality and there were ample towels and beach towels as well. All you really need to bring is yourself and you'll be ready to sit back and enjoy. We happen to be there on one of those gorgeous 3 day weekends so my husband surfed all day, my 5 yr. old played on the beach and my 2 teenage girls loved riding the bikes up and down the Strand. There is a lot of great people watching while I relaxed on the patio. A momma's dream vacation. I can't wait to go again. And thank you Stormy for all the help with Legoland and finding the perfect restaurants to visit. See you again very soon. K. Flowers

This house was perfect for our family reunion. Plenty of room, fabulous kitchen, wonderful sunsets and a master bath to die for. We had such a great time cooking, watching the beautiful sunsets. The property manager is great and was always there when we needed her. We dubbed the downstairs room the Man Cave as it was perfect for playing pool and watching sports. Also the kids had a great time playing with their WII and the adults could enjoy the quiet up stairs. Plenty of room for cars.

The property was not clean and well maintained. The owner was not helful. I will not recommend this property to any friend or relative.
Owner response:This is the first complaint we have ever had. The wife of this family was one of those people that was not going to be happy no matter what we did. They pushed to get into the house early even though I explained that we needed the full six hours to get the cleaning right, so they came in early anyway, and brought a dog that had not been disclosed, and paid no pet fee. We had a new sofa being delivered and it was late getting there, so the husband told me it wasn't a big deal. It turns out the delivery company only had one person to deliver this sofa and the husband offered to help. I wasn't aware until the wife called me in hysterics, and I sent someone over right away. They decided to not tell me and stay late through check out even though we had someone else checking in the same day at 4. They were actually quite hard on the home. I still sent their full deposit back, since they had to deal with the couch delivery mess. I wouldn't rent to them again either, so the feeling is mutual. Please keep reading the other reviews, this is a wonderful home and we have hosted many happy returns with many repeat and referral vacationers.

For 5 years we have been coming to the San Diego/Oceanside area for a beach vacation, and by popular vote, this was the best house ever. We bring 6 adults with 4 children ages 8-11 and all voted this was the best. This was not a typical beach house. The amenities, the space and the decor far outreached any of the other places that we have stayed for our beach week. I will confess that the first impression when I arrived, was skepitical from the outside. I was concerned with the parking lot next door and the vast vacant lot on the other side and then I walked inside and WOW. The parking lot was not an issue at all. Having the bikes and boogie boards were such a bonus. Every morning the children would get up early and sit on the deck and watch the dolphins while we cooked breakfast. The big screen TV was also a hit for our World Cup Soccor Fans. Daily we would ride the bikes to the food kiosk and buy frozen drinks, churros and street tacos. We discovered the outdoor food market in Oceanside on Thursday and enjoyed a lot of the offerings there. The location is great for side trips to Disneyland, Legoland and Seaworld but most of all we really enjoyed the beach and boogie boarding. We are looking forward to coming back next year. We have recommended this property to our friends.

This home was fantastic for a big family get together. There was plenty of room for everyone. Beautiful kitchen to share our meals. We could send the kids downstairs to play pool and watch movies. Beach is right there. Loved hearing the ocean at night. There were bikes, boogie boards and beach toys that helped us enjoy our stay even more. The pier is just up the street. Very fun! Will rent again!

I would say that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The house is very serene and comfortable. Our entire family stayed put and went out to dinner once. The ocean view was incredible. We enjoyed watching people go bye. The master bedroom was beautiful. It is great for teenagers because the whole bottom is separate from the upstairs kitchen etc and gave my sons privacy as well as playing pool and listening to their music without getting in our space ha ha. Would definitely recommend this home for a stay at the beach.
