This was our first trip to Edisto Island and we can't wait to return! We don't consider ourselves "beach people" so staying at Peters Point Crab Shack fit our needs perfectly -- we loved being on the marsh and having the dock to be able to crab and fish on Store Creek with the beach being just a short drive away so we could enjoy that as well. The people of Edisto are super friendly! And we love that the place is not over-commercialized. There is a great Serpentarium that you can visit and Botany Bay is a 'must-see'! Note: They do allow hunting on Botany Bay so if you come during hunting season like we did the only day it is open to the public is on Sunday. The house itself is in good shape -- does need some upkeep, but it is still comfortable and enjoyable. I will say that the drive back to the house was interesting the first time -- I thought for sure we were lost and in the back of someone's property as we wound our way through the trees, but alas we arrived. I would give a word of caution to anyone hauling a boat though -- there are some tight squeezes. Overall I would definitely recommend this place to people -- can't beat the location and price!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children.

We had a family vacation here in September of 2011. It was the most amazing vacation I've ever had. I loved how secluded the house was & so did the children. We took walks down the driveway almost every evening we were there & always saw some kind of wildlife....we saw turkey & deer! It most definitely lived up to it's name....we caught nothing but crabs! lol They were delicious, but it would have been nice to catch some fish along with them. We saw dolphins in the canal several times during our stay. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the rental price....it was amazingly cheap! I can't wait until we come back!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Peters Point Crab Shack is a secluded and quiet place to vacation on Edisto Island. We came down to celebrate our anniversary and loved every minute of our stay. We went out on the dock each day and tried our luck for crabbing and fishing, but did not catch but two small crabs that we were unable to keep. Even though we did not catch anything the covered dock was a great escape to relax. The home was perfect for our stay. We wanted to everything quiet and that was exactly what we got. We brought along our pets and they loved the home also. We would consider this renting this rental again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
