"Island Pointe" is a 2200 square foot luxury home located on the Main Channel of Lake Wylie. Getting to the home, you go down a 2 1/2 mile paved road which winds through the middle of 1300 acres of preserved forest. Wildlife is abundant in that their habitat has been preserved and it is not unusual to see the deer grazing by the road. Trails are available for you to walk or ride your bike and observe the wildlife or just to enjoy the quietness of nature.

If you love the lake and nature, this is the perfect Vacation Home for you. The house has deep waters throughout the year available for swimming or if you like, you can just sit on the dock or under the gazebo and watch the boat traffic. If you bring a boat, you can go on the lake and enjoy the water or get to know other boaters at the spot known as the "Sandbar." Even better--at the end of the day, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the sun setting over Lake Wylie.

If you decide you want to enjoy the sites and tourist attractions of Charlotte, you are within 10 minutes of Interstates 77, 85, and 485. Retail shopping, movie theatres, and a vast array of restaurants are in close vicinity of the home. Because of the location of this home, you can enjoy the best of both worlds within a ten minute frame of time.

  • Our week at Island Pointe made a business trip into a joyous retreat. We fished before going off to a meeting, spent the evenings on the back deck watching the hawks over Lake Wiley. The house is beautiful and comfortable and when we asked about DSL, since we needed to do business, Martha and Randy had it put in. A perfect retreat, a great place to work ... and play.

  • After staying at Griff's Place for 10 days and then 5 days at Island Pointe, you can't have better landlords than Martha and Randy! Island Pointe is so different and so spacious - the great room is fantastic and views of the lake are incredible. It is truly a luxery rental home in "The Sanctuary", but so accommodating, relaxing, and impeccable when it comes to cleanliness. We enjoyed our mornings drinking coffee on the deck watching the boats and mist coming off the lake and the evenings having cocktails enjoying the sunset - it doesn't get much better that that! Our many thanks to Martha and Randy for the pride they have in their homes and sharing them with us!

  • Wow! 8611 Island Pointe is not your typical rental. Every aspect of the Owners was to make their quests extremely comfortable and welcomed. This truly is a superior VRBO in every way. The lake views could not have been more beautiful and relaxing. You are steps away from the lake. Our only complaint was the fact we didn't have longer to stay. Our busy lives forced us back to reality. Randy and Martha, thank you again for making our stay so memorable! Warmest Regards!
