My husband and I and our dog just spent 6 nights at Cinder Cone Cottage, and it was perfect! Lots of windows, the livingroom was comfy to lounge in at night, and the kitchen is very well stocked. The hot tub under the stars at night was a real treat. Our dog loved exploring the back yard, and lying on the cool grass in the warm sun. Downtown is within walking distance, and many good restaurants and breweries. Our favorite was 10 Barrel Brewing - good atmosphere, beer and pizza! We had a grand time, and would definitely stay here again.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.

We had a great weekend here for my husbands 33rd birthday, such a cute house, we loved it! The hot tub was awesome (of course) and our pups loved the backyard and Overturf Park. I think our favorite meal was breakfast at the Victorian (2 blocks away)...23oz Bloody Mary and a 'Manmosa' You can't go wrong!..We'll most definitely be back to explore Bend some more and we'll definitely book The Cinder Cone Cottage again. OH! We loved the bikes too! Thanks!

The dogs love the fenced yard and exploring Bend. We headed out to Tumalo Falls yesterday and ended up enjoying a great hike (skiing had been the plan). We wandered the parks in the afternoon and enjoyed a few local brews on the patio last evening. We are looking forward to returning in July for the Deschutes Dash. The Cinder Cone Cottage has become our home away from home in Bend.

It was perfect for the 2 of us. This was a great central location for all of our activities. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub. Both were wonderful complements to our daily adventures. Snowmobiling was crazy fun with amazing views from the top of Paulina Peak at 7984ft. The perfect winter vacation.

We really liked Cinder Cone Cottage. The location is very central (we were able to walk to breakfast and to the river). The back yard is very big and pretty and our dog loved it. Everything is quite roomy and it is filled with light. We stayed three weeks and enjoyed it very much. We got our deposit back in a very timely way.

Owner response:The large skylights and high ceilings do a great job of providing lots of natural light...and we haven't met a dog yet who doesn't approve of the back yard :)

The 5 of us came to town for the High Cascades 100. All of us fit in here well. Loved the hot tub, the location was perfect to ride around town and get to our 5:30am ride at Bachelor fast. We will certainly look up the property for our next visit!

My race buddy and I stayed at this wonderful cottage on the weekend of the Pole, Pedal, Paddle in Bend. The location was perfect as we were walking distance to the start of the race (and the beer garden at the finish). I was able to bring my dog with me and he loved the backyard to explore. We appreciated the hot tub after a great race! I look forward to returning again soon. Thanks!!!

Our daughter loved the loft. We took our daughter to Juniper Park for the Easter Egg Hunt and she loved it. When watching the local news this morning, we saw her on it! Anyway, now we know where to come for our annual (hopefully more frequently) visit to Bend.

We had a great time visiting our friends and getting more familiar with Bend (on our own). The cottage was perfect for the 3 of us and would have housed a second teenager without any problem. The spring snow was a nice extra touch.

Mini-family reunion here for us!...LOVED the beautiful little gas stove and simple living!!! All was neat and clean when we arrived. We usually rent a different cottage from VRBO.com - but will now come here, for only $10 more per night we were much more comfy!

We had a wonderful 3 days here, skiing and shopping. The weather and snow were great. After skiing we all came back for the hot tub, dinner, watching the Olympics, and having some serious Connect 4 tournaments. The kids didn't even want to go out for dinner, since they were so comfortable. Thanks for the wonderfully well-stocked kitchen. We wish we could stay longer.

A Stone's Throw Bungalow was fabulous place for our family to celebrate Christmas this year! We skied Bachelor on what the locals said was "the best day in the last 3 year". We hadn't skied in over 10 years so the beautiful hot tub helped in a quick recovery! We even grilled under snow fall, nice BBQ. Loved the hot tub, the BBQ and the cottage layout. It was very clean, had good quality appliances and nice upgrades. It's only 20 minutes from great skiing on Mt Bachelor - great location!

We stayed at A Stone's Throw over Halloween weekend. We just wanted a nice relaxing and fun weekend in Bend to get in some mountain biking, hiking and good food. We got all of that, and staying at this bungalow was the perfect place for us. It's in a great location, close to town, all the activities we wanted and many good places to eat, several within walking/biking distance, and within biking distance to the trails. The bungalow was clean, cozy, well laid out and we loved the decor. The binder of information for activities and restaurants in the area was just one of the thoughtful touches we found in the bungalow. We didn't have any problems and would stay here again in a heartbeat.
