-- Perfect for Wedding Parties, 8 Golfers, or family reunions! --

Enjoy the panoramic view of THREE different Donald Ross originals...holes #15, #16, #17 of the wonderful Pinehurst #3 golf course. We believe our views of three greens from the screened back porch are among the best that Pinehurst has to offer.

Three Green Retreat offers an ideal location at 45 Briarwood Circle and rests beside the Par 3, 16th. Situated close-by to the Pinehurst clubhouse, take the short walk up through the 18th fairway. At the house, enjoy plenty of space, a billiards room, HDTVs throughout, a private backyard, and an outdoor Jacuzzi. Furniture, beds as well as all linens are new. For Wedding Parties, you'll be pleased with the extra large mirrors in each bedroom!

For those unfamiliar with the Pinehurst area, please understand that only courses #1-#5 play to/from the legendary Pinehurst Country Club. The beautiful #6-#8 are located in nearby residential areas.

Your tour may vary, but our visits seem to proceed this way:

1. Breakfast on the back porch while watching the day’s prep of Pinehurst #3
2. Golf
3. After a round (or two), relax on the back porch, be a golf spectator or perhaps spend a few minutes in the Jacuzzi
4. Dinner at one of the area’s best
5. Billiards in the lower level

It’s a tough itinerary; we hope you’re up to it. Don’t overdo it --you just may have to repeat this routine again tomorrow.

Our home offers 5 bedrooms (8 beds in total) and 3.5 bathrooms:
~Main floor: One double twin bedroom, plus a half bath.
~Upper level: One king suite (includes bathroom/shower) and two additional bedrooms which hold 2 twins each, plus a full bath.
~Lower level: One queen bedroom with a full bathroom.
Other house features include a fully-equipped kitchen, large dining room (seating for 8), living room with fireplace, laundry room, and wireless access. From the main floor's living and dining room, three sets of French doors lead to a spacious open deck and screened porch that offer beautiful views of the course. The finished lower level features a complete billiards room with bar as well as walk-out access to the backyard and Jacuzzi.

Cleaning is performed by a professional cleaning company. Also, all linens are cleaned off site for highest sanitation.

Your expectations will be met at the Three Green Retreat!

Why the Owner Chose Pinehurst

Pinehurst is a place where people really enjoy golf. It's more than a game, it is the common thread that connects all of it's residents. The first time you arrive in Pinehurst, you may wonder what all the fuss is about. That feeling lasts for a very short time until you realize that you are now completely immersed into the American Home of Golf and wish that you could stay forever.

Owner's Map of Pinehurst

We live in CT and play golf regularly at a wonderful old (1917) Willie Park JR designed course called Shuttle Meadow.

After making a few trips to Pinehurst for the annual "guys golf" trip, the allure of the area was simply too strong. In the Spring of 2008, we made a family trip to the area. Fate brought us to our home as we rented (through VRBO) the house directly across the street and stared at the For Sale sign on the Three Green Retreat for 3-4 days. Although this property was priced considerably higher than what we originally were seeking, the panoramic views of the golf course were too amazing to pass up.

After viewing some properties in the Myrtle Beach area, we returned to CT. After a few phones calls and some serious number crunching, we decided that the quiet, quaint Village of Pinehurst was the right destination for us!

In sum, your house was wonderful and worked out perfectly for our group. While we all certainly could have doubled up, everyone enjoyed having their own space. Not surprisingly, we spent the bulk of our time either in the basement or out on the patio. Michael, the caddie that you recommended, was simply excellent. Our group was generally not burning up #2 when we played it (although, in fairness, we didn't struggle horribly either), but Michael seemed to enjoy our good-natured group. Michael was an excellent recommendation on your part, and I let him know that when the round was over. As for #2, we thought it was brilliant. I had fallen into a bit of a funk and wasn't playing especially well during the days before, and thus had mixed emotions about #2. However, once we teed off, what a fabulous experience it was. Absolutely no regrets, and I think the rest of my group felt the same way. One of my buddies shot 1-over on the front (so I will never hear the end of that), although the pendulum swung and he played far worse than normal on the back. So goes golf. We also very much enjoyed #4 - as we were told and expected, a beautiful course. We also played #3, although we weren't especially sharp in doing so. We generally had a great time in the Village - had some nice meals, saw some live music, and pretty much took over the karaoke experience at Doogan's on Thursday night. Our trip was a rousing success. Thanks very much for your the use of your house.

Hi Scott, Thanks, the weekend went great. Had a great time playing #8. Shot 87 which was OK since I haven’t golfed much the past 2 years. Luckily I dropped one in from about 70 feet on 18, otherwise flirting with 90. Fantastic course, best I’ve played. The weather cooperated, we only got some rain at night. Had some good meals at Ironwood and Magnolia Inn. The house was great, we loved the porch and it was easy to relax there. Loved the golf deco and my parents commented how it was a nice feel. No comments really, we were happy with everything. Thanks, Mark

    • To Scott, Our group had a great time during our trip to Pinehurst and especially enjoyed your Three Green Retreat. It was really nice and a great central location to the many sites to see especially in the village of Pinehurst (about 2 minutes away, if you hit the stop light wrong). First of all, the house was great. Nice layout, plenty of room and in good condition. Great porch/balcony off the back that is screened-in, with great views three holes on Course #3 (#15, #16, and #17) I believe it was. No problems. The guest guides were very helpful, in terms of taking care of trash, TV channels, dining suggestions, internet connections and so forth. Golf, groceries, dining and shopping are all within 5 - 10 minutes of the house. In terms of dining, we tried Vito's over in Southern Pines (which I believe was on your recommended listing) and it was great. Also, we took you up on the suggestion of the Pine Crest Inn. Very nice and quaint. Must go to the bar first then dinner. Very good meal with lots of character. We also enjoyed the Ryder Cup Lounge in the Carolina Hotel. Neat, neat hotel property with great old photos of its history. We also took in a little of the Pinehurst Clubhouse, some shopping in the Pro Shop, as well as the Donald Ross Grill and the veranda overlooking the 18th green on #2. Great, great way to spend an hour or two. Otherwise, had a great time. Thanks for the accommodations. You have a very nice place down there. Enjoy it! Ken Feaster St. Louis, MO

Hi Scott, The house was very nice and worked out great for our group. I think we will be back next year. The weather was a little warm, but we didn't really get caught in any rain. We all had a great time and the house worked out very well. Thanks and talk to you next year! Jim

    • Perfect! Superb Location, Tons of room, Beautifully Decorated, Everything you need including Pool Room and Bar - Normally when you rent a house on holiday you get a sanitised, renter proof bare minimum. This house is like a home from home, luxurious, beautifully maintained, very comfortable and really good value. Close enough to the center of Pinehurst to walk - Plenty of room and the Owner Scott is a pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be recommending this home to any of my friends and family who are visiting Pinehurst again in the future. Thanks for making our trip truly memorable.
