Well, where do I start? We are a family of four - Mum, Dad and two children 4 and 1. Whether you are travelling with children, small or big or just adults - this truly is a brilliant place to call home for your stay in Victoria. I'll tell you a little bit about why we like it. It's in an area called Broadmead which is close to everything.

Now, I know a lot of people will say that but honestly, this home really is! We love that we can hop on our bikes and be downtown in about 30 minutes, summer or winter. Lochside trail is accessed less than 1 km from our home and is a beautiful trail system surrounded by trees, farms and ocean inlets. There are no major hills to speak of so having lunch and a glass of wine will not pose a problem for the return trip!

We love the many beaches we can enjoy throughout the year with stunning mountain views. Island view beach, just up the road is a favorite in the winter for a stroll with the kids. Cordova Bay beach is great anytime. We celebrated our New Year's at the beach with friends and family and, of course, a bonfire with marshmallows. Butchart gardens, about a fifteen minute drive offers spectacular gardens to wander in.

It doesn't matter how many times we go there, we're always so taken back by the beauty that surrounds us. The butterfly gardens are just before Butchart and are definitely worth the admission. We love to cook and find our local grocery store in Broadmead village has never disappointed with even the most unusual ingredients.

You will love cooking in our kitchen! It's massive and has all the bells and whistles a good cook could wish for. A functional layout and design with good utensils plus wall oven and glass cook top are a nice touch.

We also love to eat out. I guess we just love to eat! We can't begin to tell you the gorgeous restaurants you'll have access to just a stone's throw away and further afield within the city plus the great shopping, museum, galleries, bakeries, pubs and so much more.

I know I'm probably forgetting so much to tell you. I was just at The Empress today for afternoon tea with my brother and sister-in-law. What a fantastic way to spend a day and then be able to come back to the comfort of a gorgeous home. I feel like I'm bragging but you have to know these things!

This home was completely renovated in 2006/07 from top to bottom with modern design and colors. Gorgeous windows with lovely views from every room allowing lots of natural light. The neighborhood is well established and is considered one of the most desirable areas to live in Victoria.

Our neighbors are great. Friendly and helpful. I'd love for you to stay and enjoy everything Victoria has to offer knowing luxury and comfort are awaiting you every night.

- We've owned our home for just over a year and can honestly say it is truly beautiful! We have two small children, 4 and 1. The layout and design plus the gorgeous flat back yard with toys galore plus a swing set, trampoline and more to keep children entertained will certainly be a must for the travelling family. If you are not traveling with small children - you've happened upon a little bit of paradise for yourselves! This home was completely renovated in 2006/07 from top to bottom. The quality and dedication to detail plus the fantastic location being close to bike trails, shopping, beaches, parks, playgrounds, tennis courts, golf courses, neighborhood ponds, excellent recreation centers, libraries, excellent restaurants... I really could go on and on. The airport is about a fifteen minute drive, the ferry terminal about 20 minutes. The heart of downtown Victoria about 20 minutes. Hop on one of the seven bikes we have (bought especially for company!)

- I didn't check off downhill or cross country skiing as this is located about 2.5 hours up the Island at Mount Washington. Having said that, this is a great place to call home base and spend a few days up there too with a gorgeous home to return to and a fantastic city to explore. We moved to Victoria almost five years ago from Northern Alberta. We truly believe we've found our paradise. With two children (4 and 1), our lives are rich with time spent at the many, many beaches so close to home. Both winter and summer there's always something to do at the beach. We love to bike and have found this particular location offers excellent access to downtown and Sidney plus all of the surrounding areas with no huge hills to speak of. My mother-in-law bikes with us and the kids so it truly is available to all ages and we have seven bikes for every size! The recreation centers are amazing with great pools, gyms, libraries and programs for adults and children to enter.
