Make yourself at home at Gingerbread House! In town and right on the park. Complimentary hot springs passes. The cheery kitchen is stocked with coffee, spices and baker's basics. There are three comfy quilt covered beds. One queen and two doubles. The living/dining areas are furnished for homey comfort. Enjoy books, movies and CD's, play games at the dining room game table which converts to bumper pool or walk a few blocks to downtown shops, cafes and the river. The private back patio is a shady haven for coffee or a barbecue picnic. Swing and play frisbee or basketball in Alpine park across the street or walk a block to the library. The colorful Farmer's Market happens in the park Saturday mornings from June through October. It's convenient and comfortable for a couple, a family or group of friends wanting to step back in time in this friendly town.
Ask about discounts for longer stays. This vacation homes is "vacation ready" with a fully appointed kitchen, towels and linens. Hand, dish, laundry and shower soaps along with paper products are provided. Three night minimum is preferred, however, two nights may be approved with a $30 cleaning fee. Two night stays will not be scheduled over two weeks in advance during High Season and Holidays. Owners reserve the right to accept or refuse three night stays during High Season and Holidays.
A well behaved dog is welcome ($10/night pet fee) and has a fenced yard to play in and a mud room to wipe it's paws.
Availability is subject to owner use. A $45 fee includes check-out cleaning and accidental damage insurance. A cleaning fee may apply for stays of less than 3 nights.

People are drawn to Salida by its year-round outdoors life. There’s fishing and boating on the Arkansas River, cycling, skiing, hunting and the more passive pastime of soaking in the local hot springs. There are also three federal wilderness areas within about 30 minutes of town.(NY Times)
