We had such a wonderful time for our girls getaway weekend! The cabin was beautiful and spacious for all of us. We loved waking up to a winter wonderland on Sunday and seeing the snow through the a-frame windows was absolutely breathtaking! We especially enjoyed the hot tub and being able to reminisce of years past in it and afterwards in the living room with a fire roaring. Thank you for providing such a beautiful getaway for us! I would highly recommend Aspen Hills Retreat to everyone!

Upon arriving to the cabin it was even better than the pictures portray! the cabin is BIG, cozy, and FUN FUN FUN!!! me and my husband met my parents there and it was such a relaxing trip. It was so secluded, snowed everyday, and it was so relaxing. The house had everything we needed and the owners where very friendly and easy to work with. We hope we can return someday!

We decided to have our annual girls vacation at Aspen Hill Retreat and it has been an amazing time. The cabin is beautiful and well cared for. Thank you for sharing this wonderful place. We saw a momma moose and her baby on hill above the teepee. Snow shoeing, cooking healthy food, hot tubing and most importantly have a cozy beautiful space to escape the "real world" and enjoy each others company has made this a trip we'll never forget!! Happy New Year!

My family and I spent this past Christmas at Aspen Hill. All aspects exceeded descriptions and expectations. Fantastic home. Immaculate condition. Family skied at Bridger, snowshowed, sledded, built snow forts, relaxed in home and hot tub, enjoyed great kitchen and dining area with great food. Plus home was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Owners were superb to deal with. Highly recommend!

We had 2 families staying here (9 people: 4 adults & 5 teens) and everyone felt comfortable and not stepping on each others privacy. We enjoyed sunrise coffee on the deck and then went indoors for big meals at the family dining table. We hiked the road and saw lots of animal tracks including bear. We also broke into teams to go geo caching on the hill/mountain behind the house. The brave hit the hot tub in the evening while the others cozyed up around the fire. Great family location for those wanting to enjoy nature.

This was the last major stop on a family trip that involved a drive of 5,000 miles. The house was so lovely that I didn't feel at all upset that we barely left to explore all the landmarks in the area. I am sure we will return here in the future to do a full Yellowstone adventure but this go round the hot tub, deck and beautiful surroundings were all we needed to unwind. Thank you for opening your home to our family and we look forward to seeing you again in the future!

Wonderful location. Great family bonding. We all did our own things from a day trip to Yellowstone as a family, Glacier national park, Livingston rodeo, parade, gourmet dining downtown, horse back rides through the mountains and the Lewis and Clark caverns. We loved relaxing in the deck and ate many family dinners in the large kitchen. Would love to come back. Thanks for all the wonderful memories. The tepee was a hit too!

Aspen Hill retreat was everything we expected from the photographs and more. Throughout our two-month stay we had many guests who were equally impressed with Aspen Hill Retreat, Livingston, and Bozeman. We had such a wonderful time we are renting again next year and will probably have to turn away return guests. The home is spacious and comfortable with everything provided. The setting is lovely and tranquil. Surrounded by wildlife and natural beauty, guests can hike the area or enjoy sitting on the porch, enjoying the dry, sunny days and crisp evenings. Fishing and horseback riding are nearby. The restaurants are great in Livingston: Montana Rib and Chop House; 2nd Street Bistro and Paradise Valley grill, gourmet; the Beanery for breakfast. Main St. is great to shop for clothes, art, and basic western wear. The feed store on the way out of town has a great boutique. The bakery in Emigrant has the best bread, ever. It's closed on Sunday and Monday. A meal at the Grande Hotel in Big Timber and a walk downtown is fun. Too many scenic sidetrips to take in for a two-month stay.

We drove down from the prairies in Canada to relax & enjoy some very different mountain scenery, and we were not disappointed! The house & surrounding area are both beautiful and serene. We did day trips to Yellowstone, the Crazy Mountains, & the Bozeman area. We saw everything from Bison to elk, hawks, and deer. We trekked around the 'neighborhood' as well, Mostly we only saw a deer family around the house. The hummingbirds were quite entertaining on the deck, drinking from the feeder and occasionally thinking one of us was a flower(bright shirt). There was one big storm overnight - buckets of hail. We felt very safe in the house. In the morning it looked as though it had snowed, as the hail still laid in accumulated piles around the house. Thank you very much for sharing your wonderful home! We enjoyed your mountain retreat immensely! Kim, Doug & Daisy (dog) (Copied from the guest book)

This is a beautiful cabin in beautiful surroundings! We've really enjoyed our stay here - only wish it were longer. A few deer came by to visit and on the first day we saw a bear! Thank you for letting us enjoy your beautiful home. Hopefully we come back.

                          Owner info

                          Year Purchased: 1995

About the owner: We built and participated in the design and construction of this home in the mountains between Livingston and Bozeman in 1995 as a place to raise our three children, then ages 9, 11 and 13. They are grown and live in NY, VA and MT. We are now living and working in Billings, making our home available to vacation renters. This is a perfect spot for a quite retreat with a loved one and large enough for a family reunion. Lots of hills to climb and forest/creek to explore, along with a night in the tipi down by the creek. One night we were wakened by a mama and baby moose feeding in the willows next to the tipi, we watched them in the moonlight for a long time. These are magical moments.

                          Why the Owner Chose Livingston:
We are only 20 minutes from the Yellowstone River and some of the world's best fly fishing and one hour from Yellowstone National Park. Bozeman is a half hour away and Livingston even closer. Bridger Bowl ski area is 40 minutes via Jackson Creek Road.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Having the mountains in our backyard and the creek and pond to play in added a unique dimension to our children's lives. One could feel the peacefulness of the area as soon as one started the five-mile drive home after working in town all day. Sitting on the deck and watching the sunset is a moment to cherish. We are still in awe of the great beauty here and are very happy to share our home with our guests. The wildflowers in spring and summer cover the hillsides around the house. If you like bird watching the deck is a great place to sit with a bird book and binoculars. Moose feed on the willows down by the creek, black bear visit occasionally, deer are abundant and a herd of elk may wander through the property depending on the time of year. There is never a dull moment in nature at Aspen Hill Retreat.
