Everything was clean and functional. Plenty of room for family+ to spend time together and feel at home. Although somewhat dated in style, everything was as it should be and the owners are very pleasant to work with. Would use them again.

Recently 7 of us stayed at this property for 3 nights while we were visiting Missouri to watch our daughters play college softball. We were very pleased. This home was very clean and comfortable. We felt very at home. All the beds were very comfortable. Everything you need is there. The kitchen is very well stocked. Ann and John were very welcoming - we felt like family. When we walked in, there were fresh flowers, fresh baked bread, and some tasty wine from a local winery. What more can weary travelers ask for? We would definitly stay there again and recommend to anyone

We rented this property over Labor Day Weekend. We had 7 people stay in the home and a total of 19 that visited with our soldier. This property is very close to Fort Leonard Wood. NIce quiet neighborhood. It was truly a home away from home. John and Ann were great. Home has large rooms, patio in backyard with fire pit, large family/dining room. Fast Internet Service. You will save a ton of money cooking your meals in the full stocked (utensils, plates etc) kitchen. Very large room in basement area, we had a great time playing Pictionary that was at the house, You should of seen Nana draw a picture of "Dolly Parton" you can only imaginge how we guessed it was her. During our time with our soldier, he proposed to his girlfriend in the living room area. This home will always be special to us. A few soldiers came home with us to enjoy a Lasagna dinner. To all the cooks, make sure you cook John and Ann a dish or two while you are here, he will for sure surprise you in returning the favor. One day he brought over hot fresh gourmet dougnuts and then another day some of the best bread pudding I have ever had. John and Ann were just property owners when we first made the reservations, after meeting them, we learned that they were far more than just property owners, they are sincere, caring, and fun. We have developed a friendship with them and will always keep in touch with them. Invite them over for some cofffee and you quickly be informed of Missouri History as John is a retired History teacher with over 30 years. You will not be dissatisfied with this property. 8-10 minutes from Fort Leonard Wood. I will gladly answer any questions, just email me at flytoyougirl@yahoo.com Lastly, John is an honest man and will provide you true correct information. God Bless The USA !

Our family rented this home for 3 nights for our sons Army graduation in May, 2011. The photos of the inside of the home accurately reflect how it looks, but not the outside. Check Google Earth pic for a more accurate depiction of outside appearance. Pros: plenty of room. Clean interior. Comfortable beds. Plenty of dishes and cookware. And the obvious advantages: comfort and price wise over numerous hotel rooms. Cons: Squirrels in attic that wake you up at the wee hours of the morning (owner aware), 3 old toilets with chairs on top of them on the back patio. Other discarded items tossed about in the back yard. Stairway to back patio leaning. Rotting window frames. Holes in interior ceiling. Old food in refrigerator. We barely had room for our food. Had to stop payment on deposit check, as owner would not respond to multiple e-mails over a month and a half later. Summary: it appears the person maintaining the inside, general cleanliness, is doing a pretty good job, but not so much the person maintaining the lawn and structure of the home.
Owner response:Before this review, we found an exterminator who is trapping the squirrels and releasing them far away. Their entry point has been sealed. We had replaced all the toilets with new, chair height ones and had not yet hauled off the old ones. The holes in the interior ceiling are cutouts in the laundry and half bath, under the upstairs plumbing. Our elderly parents' health required us to stay with them (without internet service.) We did not return the deposit check promptly, but had not cashed it either.

Our family of 8 adults and 2 small children stayed here for 5 days the beginning of June for our son's graduation at FLW. We had a great experience!! There was plenty of room for everyone to relax and not feel crowded. The Jarretts were great hosts and went above all of our expectations. The large backyard seemed to be everyone's favorite place to visit and watch the kids play. The front gate was only a few minutes away making it very convenient to FLW. Also check out The Hub restaurant if you like great German food or Prime Rib,delicious! We would most definitely stay here again if coming to the area

Our family was in Waynesville to attend the graduation of our son from basic training on March 24, 2011. We stayed for two nights and the house was great. We had plenty of room for all of the family. Eight of us! You can't find a better deal at a hotel. John Jarrett is a great guy and accommodated our family in all the right ways. It was an experience that we will always treasure. Thank you John and Ann.

My family and I stayed at the home from March 16 - March 19th while attending my nephews graduation from Fort Leonardwood. What a pleasure it was to be able to go to a "HOME" and not sit in a hotel room with nothing to do. There was a total of 8 of us staying and there was plenty of room for my 6 year old to run around and make noise.. without being hushed to be quiet and not disturb the neighbors. The beds were AMAZING! After staying up late nights and visiting with family ( one group of us from Massachusetts, one group of us from Arizona ) it was great to be able to fall right asleep and be comfortable. If we are ever in the area again.. we will MOST definately stay at this house... PS. If you are looking for an awesome, one of a kind dining experience, be sure to visit "The Cave Restaurant".. and bring your camera!

In 2009, we attended a graduation for a very dear friend and had a hotel room. We were crammed into a hotel room and had to compete with the crowds in the restaurants. We made some memories but we wished it could have been better. In 2010, we attended our son’s graduations and staying at John and Ann’s home was night and day. We were a little leery renting a house from the internet. The pictures are a good representation but cannot accurately show how much room the house really has. My son had invited a friend and his parents to spend the day with us making twelve of us for the day and we had tons of room to spread out. The house is conveniently located near Fort Leonard Wood and the local hotels (for family members who want their own place) and grocery stores. We cannot recommend this home more HIGHLY!. John and Ann have gone to great lengths to provide just about anything you may need.

This lovely home made our trip to Missouri wonderful! The space to spread out and yet still enjoy our time together as an extended family was a blessing. If you are coming to Fort Leonard for a graduation and would need more then one hotel room for your group you should look at this spot. It's a great value! Clean, large, comfortable & truly a home away from home. The fully stocked kitchen allowed us to eat meals together as well as cook ALL of our graduating soldiers requested foods! There is not a lot to do around here & if we had not had this space I think the vacation could have been a bit of a disaster! It was so much better then being stuck in four or five different hotel rooms and the value was super. We each paid for one night & got to stay together for the whole week! Being able to use the washer & dryer meant we came home with clean clothes to unpack-yay! The large space allowed my soldier daughter to bring home two friends for the afternoon & all 3 soldiers had time for some peaceful napping! A true luxury after boot camp! I must say my favorite part was being able to just kick back, all of us together & listen to the tales of life as a soldier. Priceless!

There were 7 of us attending my niece's boot camp graduation. It was so nice to have some place for everyone ages 5-50+. Enough space so no one was in anyone else's way and the opportunity to spend quality time with Carolyn and a few other soldiers was priceless! I would highly recommend this property to anyone visting Ft. Leonard Wood and posted the information on both my personal Facebook page and the one established for FLW. I perfect location, well maintained and very comfortable.

We would recomend this home to anyone planning a trip to Ft Leonard Wood. The location is perfect and the home is comfortable and roomy. We stayed at the home for 6 days and enjoyed it very much. It gave our Soldier a place to relax and socialize with everyone at the same time. We would like to thank John and Ann for allowing people like us to have a place for us to feel at home while visiting our Soldier. We were able to cook all his favorite meals that he missed so much while in Basic Training. I am sure we accually spent less money by staying here than if we had went someplace else. Thank you Again for your hospitality.

We had a wonderful stay at this home while attending a wedding in the area. There were 9 adults and two children and the home is large enough that we didn't feel crowded. Unlike a motel, the children could be children without disturbing others. Everyone was pleased that we were able to stay together.

Our family travelled from 3 states to celebrate our soldier's basic training at Fort Leonard Wood and this incredible place allowed us the space to be together and all the comforts of home (plus incredibly comfortable beds!!). We will absolutely tell anyone headed to that area about this home, as it was so much better then staying in a hotel and really made our trip special. Thank you again for opening your home to our family. :o)

This home was perfect for us to attend our son's Graduation as an MP from Fort Leonard Wood. The home is close to Fort Leonard Wood, and shopping and restaurants. There were two families, 10 people all together. Plenty of space for all, comfortable beds and the linens were better than some 5 star hotels. The kitchen is well stocked with all the neccesary cookware to prepare our soldier a home cooked meal. We enjoyed the private backyard BBQ and firepit. S'mores were a hit. If we ever visit Fort Leonard Wood Mo.again, we will definitely check out this home.

Thank you soooo much for sharing your wonderful home. We were visiting Fort Leonard Wood for our son's basic training graduation and having a home to come back to each night was so much nicer than staying in a hotel. Your beds were amazingly comfortable - better than home! The kitchen was well stocked also. I hope we get to come back again when it is a little warmer so we can take in a few more sites. We did manage to visit the Cave Restaurant and Resort and had a great time - a definite must-see if you are in the area! Thanks again!!!

This house was perfect. It has everything you could possibably want in a vacation home. My family and I were in Fort Leonard Wood for my son's Army graduation. There were 11 of us and we had plenty of room to spread out. We watched television together in the living room and the games provided in the family room were a very nice touch. The dining room table was great also because we all sat down to breakfast and dinner together. It was also very nice having a home to come back to for family day which was our first day visiting with our soldier in over 5 months. The kitchen was fully stocked, it was just like being at home. I was able to cook my soldier's favorite meal before he had to return to the base. The amount of space was wonderful and we really enjoyed the fireplace. We met John on our first night in town and we ran into him a couple of time at the grocery store, it was just like being at home with the neighbors. If we ever need to stay near Fort Leonard Wood again I would stay here again without a doubt. Our stay was Dec 16,2009 - Dec 19,2009.

Wow!! What a super place for our family to "nest and share" with our Grandson who was graduating from M.P. School at Ft. Wood. We received a warm welcome even though it was COLD in Decmember 2009. The Jerretts are great folks...there when you needed them and not there when you don't! They were just idea hosts for us. The house was clean and comfortable and just what the ad said it was. We would recommend everyone stay there and enjoy your journey. We drove down to Branson and took in a show as well as graduation at the Fort. Go visit John and Ann, you'll love it!! God bless...Bill Birdsall

The Jarret house was perfect for our stay in Waynesville! Five family members headed south for our daughters graduation from BCT in May, 2009. Here is what we were able to do with our soldier that we COULDN'T have done in a hotel setting. We lounged on a well furnished patio during the day and enjoyed the fire pit in the evening. We were able to bake lemon bars!! We enjoyed steaks and chops grilled on a new gas grill. Our soldiers pup, Sam, was welcomed, yes welcomed, by Ann when she brought over tongs for our bbq! How thoughtful! We were able to stretch out, relax and more fully enjoy our time together. Several times our daughter said, "Mom....this is just perfect!" What a blessing! The house is wonderful folks....the Jarretts are top notch. I highly recommend the Jarrett house!

Feb 16, 2009: This is the ARMY's (Fort Leonard Wood) Best Kept Secret!! We just spent two nights at this lovely home while attending a Boot Camp Graduation at Fort Leonard Wood. The house is very nicely furnished and very well equipped. We made the reservation and checked in with no problems. Ann is really great to work with. The rooms are very large and we felt like royalty in their comfy king bed with crisp linens and sparkling white towels. If i had to rate it like a hotel it would be a 4 star!. It is only a ten minute ride to Ft. Leonard Wood. After graduation we went back to the house where we had a great breakfast, watched graduation films on the big screen TV and latter enjoyed supper before returning our soldier back to the US Army. They even had beautiful tablecloth and cloth napkins for the two celebration meals. Our son's girlfriend joined us there and they were able to spend some quite personal time togther whilw we expored the quaint town of Waynesville. This 4 plus bedroom house is great for families visiting their soldiers. I only wish more of our family could have been there. It really made the graduation day very special..so much better than hanging out in a hotel room or at the Post exchange. Thanks again Jarrett family for opening your home to us. Gianni and Julia

Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us. Our son was in Iraq last Christmas and made it home just a few days before Christmas this year. Our entire family wanted to be with him for his return and Christmas holidays. Your home gave us the chance to reunite in a "home" instead of a hotel. Everything was perfect and was above expectations. You will be hearing from us again and again if he stays at Ft. Leonard Wood. I also have already made recommendations to other military families.
