My family of three and two friends joined us for a week long vacation at the bird house in December. The house is gorgeous and in a very scenic location on the hills. We had a great time!!! The home was well-cared for, nicely decorated and very clean. When we did run a minor issue with the front door locking mechanism, the owner immediately contacted the caretaker to have it resolved. The caretaker was a very nice man who had a lot of advice for things we could do while staying in Kauai (hikes to scenic places) as well as recommending restaurants that were particularly good (Brennecke's in Poipu was one of them). The owner was fantastic, answered every email in a very timely fashion and was very concerned with making sure that our stay in his home was fabulous. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who is going to Kauai--we will be definitely staying here again on our next visit to this beautiful island!!!!

Stayed here for one week with my extended family for my son's memorial service on his native island. House was comfortable, caretaker great. Staying here made a hard time much easier and no worries for the family.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bird's lovely home on Kauai. The four bedrooms, one of which, was a separate suite, provided comfort and privacy for all members of our large family. We especially enjoyed the main lanai with a hammock. It provided ideal space for family time. The lush tropical garden setting was magnificent. The kitchen contained large quantities of dishes and every kitchen utensil and appliance we could possibly need. The large dining area allowed us to enjoy meals together. The location on the island was perfect. We were only a few miles from the south beaches and equidistant from the attractions on the East and West coasts. The Bird's were very accommodating for our special needs and quickly responded to all correspondence. The house provided wonderful accommodations for a great stay on a beautiful island.

Our family just spent a peaceful 17 days in the Bird House. It was everything we had hoped for and more. The place was fantastic for our girls (ages 2 and 5), as well as roomy and comfortable for my wife and mother. The house is set in a very green and beautiful rural environment just outside of Koloa, and the views each morning from the master bedroom were breathtaking. The Kitchen was well stocked and easy to use. We hit the beach every day, and relaxed in the evenings. I would repeat the vacation again right now if I could, it was that good. Raul was a fantastic caretaker, and I was in touch with the owners during the trip. It was remarkable. Thank you for an amazing trip (thank mother nature too for the unrelenting sunshine in January).

The birdhouse was fantastic, we couldn't of had a better time with our 3 college kids. Koloa is only a 5 minute drive to Poipu Beach which was wonderful. My husband and kids all boogie boarded with turtles (very friendly) Surfed from the locals tent right on the beach. We loved this house because it's close to the beach, sights etc and come back to quiet, private home. BBQ on the lanai with FRESH fish from town market. The golf coarse kept twin boys and dad happy as well, many to choose from. My daughter and I chose to get message on lanai from a darling girl who know the surf tent people. We will hopefully get back soon and bring another family because the space has a lot of privacy. Never did use the downstairs. We took a lot of pics in the yard too which the gardener keep up perfectly. The Birdhouse is a must if you decide to go south of Kauai.

My husband and I just stayed at the Bird House for a week and it was the perfect place to stay on the most beautiful island! The house is just gorgeous and we were so comfortable here. We probably stayed in more than we should have since it was so relaxing, but it was a wonderful vacation for us. Next time we visit Kauai, we would definitely love to stay here again.

My family and I just returned from renting this beautiful home on the island of Kauai. Given our unique need for four separate bedrooms this home was a perfect fit. The house is very expansive and equipped with the latest appliances, weber grill and updated bathrooms. We went to the island for two weeks for a family reunion. We were able to entertain family members with ease and each one raved about the home. The view from the balconies and master bedroom is spectacular. The landscaping with so many native plants is very impressive. We thank Kevin and Megumi for making our vacation a most memorable experience.

If I could think of one word to describe everything it would be amazing. We stayed here for a week. In my opinion I think it is the perfect location. Koloa town is beautiful. It's also very close to Poipu if you dont want to travel far to a beach. Koloa town has alot more then you think. Take a look around there are two awesome tour companies also right there in the town.

We spent 10 wonderful days at the Bird house. Everything was easy from the rental car, to Costco in Lihue for the fridge, and the road to the house. The house was perfect and everything works. It's nestled in a botanical wonderland with papaya and Bananna trees. The upstairs bedroom has an amazing view of the trees and birds. When we were not at one of the many beaches in any direction you travel, we watched the Masters on T.V. to further relax. The town of Koloa is exactly one mile from town, it's small, quaint, and has everthing you need. Use the bikes at the house for a great ride. Great fresh sushi at every market and the people were very gracious. You can explore the entire Island by road in one day. From that point on it's all available which is a very comfortable feeling. If its raining on one portion of the island, look to the sky and drive a few minutes to where the sky is clear. Salt Pond Beach is 10 miles West and Kapa'a is to the East where shopping was fun. We enjoyed Joes' on The Green for breakfast as well as their Happy Hour in Poipu (2 miles). The little corner burger stand by the market in town has great Mahi Mahi Burgers and the Pizza in town was good also. You can rent gear for any outing, snorkeling, surfing, even chairs for the beach. If you are a golfer you will love the courses. We did not bring our clubs this time, but we did check out courses and found the prices very affordable. If you want to stay close to town and go the the beach we lounged on two. One was the beach in front of the Sheraton in Poipu. They have a walkway access for non-guests and showers to rinse off with. They do not discourage the beach it's for everyone to enjoy!! Another beach with a dirt road, but fun and a little more secluded was past Poipu (we can't remember the name). It was fun to explore and I found great pieces of coral there. Enjoy the many small beautiful towns which surround the Island. Best vacation in many years, Yes, truly a Paradise. We definately recommend this property and will be there next year if available. Paul and Kate, Oregon
