This is the house to spend the vacation of your dreams in wonderful San Miguel de Allende. If you love sun, beautiful gardens, sunset views of the town and mountains on your private rooftop terrace and private outdoor dining overlooking the garden this is the place for you.
From the moment you enter this new Spanish colonial house through the "cantera" columned entry way, to the garden- lush with bouganvilleas and scented with jasmine, and flower covered fountains, you will be enchanted by the color, architecture and furnishings of this lovely beautifully decorated fully furnished home. Designed and built by a well known artist family, it has wonderful details, with artwork is in every room.
The lush, flower covered gardens and patios, the elegant, comfortable beamed -ceiling living room and dining room, the open gourmet kitchen, the comforts of the 4 well-appointed bedrooms, luxurious tiled bathrooms, the spectacular 360° views, multiple terraces, large rooftop dining and lounge area, and original art work, will make you feel warmly welcomed.
You can have breakfast as you sit on the covered patio overlooking the walled private garden filled with climbing bouganvilleas or have coffee on your private terrace Enjoy watching is the sunset or relax with cocktails on the large rooftop terrace. In the evening, you will see the churches light up, flocks of birds flying in for the night and the hillsides reflect the glow of the sun with a 360° view. The terrace is perfect for entertaining with its vistas and gas BBQ and bar. You can enjoy the warm sun or lunch under a shaded area furnished with tables and chairs.
From the master bedroom, look out from your plant filled balconies to the garden. On nights with a slight chill, light the fireplace in the bedroom or living room, both with high ceilings with authentic beams throughout. Relax in the living room, which opens with French doors to either the garden or the outdoor patio with lovely cantera fountains. The ground floor patio is furnished with table and chairs for outdoor dining, or dine indoors in the high-ceiling dining room with authentic beams.
The house has all the room and conveniences you need. There is a masterbedroom suite with king-size bed with comforter and pillows and fireplace. The suite has a private bathroom with shower and tub and double sinks which overlooks an interior plant filled courtyard and large walk in closet. Two balconies are on each end of a fireplace and glass doors open to a terrace.
There are two other upstairs bedrooms, one with twin beds and one with a queen bed with a balcony with lovely town/church view. Each is equipped with hand-carved furniture and linens and comforters and pillows. There is an additional private bathroom upstairs as well.
The wide staircase, with a boveda (domed brick) ceiling and tall floor to ceiling windows leads up to the upstairs large terrace. A separate laundry room with washer and dryer is located there as well.
The kitchen has modern appliances with old-world charm with its tiled walls and tile mural. It has a stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave, reridgerator, ample counter space, handmade wood cabinets and a separate pantry. The kitchen is open to the diningroom which has a small indoor patio covered by a skylight. The kitchen also opens up to the outdoor patio.
The open design living space flows from the dining room with cantera columns into the comfortable living room which is equipped with TV, wireless internet, etc. and opens to the garden. The outdoor garden can be seen from all the downstairs rooms. The downstairs study/bedroom overlooks a flower covered cantera fountain and there is a bathroom with shower on the ground floor with light from the interior courtyard.
There is indoor parking with an automatic garage opener, and intercom system throughout.
While the house is on a small, quiet, side street, it is a fairly flat stroll into the main Jardin (Garden square) and Parroquia (main catherdral) along main streets where you will enjoy wonderful restaurants, art galleries, and local craft filled shops. Wonderful outdoor hot springs, swimming, hiking, classes, organic market are nearby.

Owner Description
My family has been a part of San Miguel for close to 50 years, through artist father who was one of the original North American painters to settle here. His work is widely collected in musuems and books/catalogues about him. A number of his works are in the home along with other well know San Miguel artists.
I designed the house as I planned to live there. It has a Mexican feel, and with assistance of my architect sister, has the light-filled and open feel and amenities that North Americans enjoy.
We hope you love San Miguel and stay as much as we do.

Let me start by saying that if there's a better person to rent from than this home's owner, they must be an extraordinary individual. From our very first contact until our very last day, nothing was too much trouble, any minor issues were addressed immediately, and we really felt like she wanted us to feel like this was our home to live and relax in. I really can't sing her praises loudly enough. My wife and I have been traveling now for over 9 months, and during that time we have rented many properties, and in terms of delivering on what is promised, this rental ticked all the boxes. The home is in a lively colonia (suburb), with many little tiendas (delis), some great gourmet shops within 5-10 minutes walk, and a handful of high quality local restaurants. It is also a short walk into town, or if you're not into a walk, cabs are always easy to flag down in the nearby main street. In terms of the accommodation itself, the master bedroom is extremely spacious and comfortable, the kitchen more than serviceable and the roof top view first class, while the small gardens-- lovingly cared for by Angel --provide a serene outlook and attract hummingbirds and other species that are a delight to watch during breakfast or over a quiet afternoon glass of wine. If you want to stay in a gated ex-Pat compound, then this isn't the place for you, but if you want to live like a local, in a safe, diverse and intriguing part of San Miguel, with a sensational landlord, then ;look no further. We'd happily return, and we hope you have the chance to experience it's charms.

Bellísima casa y excelente atención por parte del propietario. No se pudo concretar la renta por falta de comunicación de mi parte pero con muchísimo gusto iría cualquier fin de semana. Le agradezco mucho las atenciones. Altamente recomendable.
