Location: 8.7 miles (west) of the Asheville City Limits and 5.7 miles off of I-40. The middle of Asheville can be reach in 15 minutes and downtown in 20 minutes. The Biltmore Estate and entrances to the Blue Ridge Parkway in 25 minutes via I-40. (Entrances to the Blue Ridge Prkwy. intersect Asheville at US 25, 70, 74 and NC 191).
General Description: Newfound Cottage is two stories, 750 sq. ft. total, 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bath downstairs. The decor of the cottage is elegant but comfortable. The wood tongue and groove cathedral ceiling soars up from both the dining and living areas to the second floor creating a more spacious feel. Hardwood floors cover the main floor, ceramic tile in the downstairs bath and high quality carpet upstairs. Out the back door is the most private, romantic and secluded hot tub we've heard tell of! But if you don't sit on the covered front deck and take advantage of the properties natural surroundings . . . then you're missing the stress-busting feeling you came to the mountains to experience. Sit quietly . . . listen . . . take it all in.
Sleeping Accommodations: There are two bedrooms each with a queen-size bed. There are chest-of-drawers style bedside tables with lamps and alarm clocks, closets with louvered bi-fold doors which have coat hangers and blankets and a ceiling fan is over each bed. Each side is furnished, decorated and functions the same. I've been told I could charge more for such a place simply because of the private secluded location and the effort put into the provisions and decor, but the rates charged reflect the 750 sq. ft. size of the cottage with just 1 bathroom.
Provisions: We provide all of the various-and-sundries that ease you into your vacation including paper products, linens, towels, liquid soaps for all sinks and shower, shampoo/conditioner, laundry detergent, coffee/coffee filters/flavored and plain dry creamer, flavored teas, cooking oil & cooking spray, simple breakfast foods, salt 'n pepper, plastic wrap and aluminum foil in the kitchen. Besides satellite TV(DirecTV - also has music stations!), we also provide a small DVD library (which I'm always adding to) of sci-fi, action/adventure and kids Disney movies and provide a combo DVD/VCR/CD player. Board games are also provided for when rainy days keep you indoors. The cottage is equipped with central heat and air, ceiling fans in the bedrooms and a "wood-stove" style set of gas-logs in the dining area for winter ambience. The 4 person hot tub is in no uncertain terms the best one you'll ever find (see photos)!
Information provided: at Newfound Cottage, dare I say, may surpass most vacation rentals in how much and how diverse. It spans the gammmet from nearby ice cream stands to directions and menus of prominent downtown restaurants to hiking trails. I have taken great strides in providing you with "what to do and how to get there" with attraction brochures and information I've gathered on my own. One never knows what someone else visiting may be interested in. So when you stay at Newfound Cottage you won't be asking "what is there to do?"
It's not too good to be true, we really are on a private secluded mountainside among a forest of trees and wilderness! Pictures cannot convey how in reality this cottage lives or feels. The hot tub, covered front deck and all of the convenient homelike extras thrown in plus things for your children to do inside and out - this place just can't be beat! There are a lot of wonderful places to have a vacation rental, but Newfound Cottage is situated to be called "among the best". To experience nature in the quiet and calm of a mountainside setting is a luxury some never get to experience. I've been told I could charge more for such a place simply because of the private secluded location, but the rates charged reflect the 750 sq. ft. size of the cottage. You won't be disappointed with the setting of Newfound Cottage. Yes, this is the "cottage in the woods" you've been looking for.
Cancellation Policies: Cancellatins made 30 days or more prior to a reservation are refunded less taxes and a $75 cancellation fee. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to a reservation will forfeit 50% of the reservation payment also less taxes. Transferring a reservation is treated the same as a cancellation. No refund is given if a cancellation is made on the first night rented. No refunds due to inclement weather. |
