There, you shell, stroll, fish, throw frisbies, build sand castles, fly kites, or simply lounge away your day on the beach in the provided chairs and umbrella.
A desirable unit on the 2nd floor, this condo provides spectacular views of the famous Sanibel beach. Screened lanai, living room and master bedroom are all Gulf front. Decorator decor and soothing tropical paint treatments make this a tasteful retreat perched on the edge of the sea.
WHAT KIND OF AMENITIES DO YOU PROVIDE?
Because we use this sanctuary ourselves, we've appointed it with amenities to make it to arrive and settle in quickly. You'll enjoy a full kitchen with gourmet touches, soft-as-a-feather beds, flat screen TVs, DVD and VCR players, complementary wireless internet, covered parking and many other amenities that create your welcoming ''home away from home''. Master bedroom includes walk-in closet and private bath. Guest bedroom has its own bath adjacent and built in California closet.
WHAT ABOUT QUALITY?
The condo is inspected after every departure so you should not find faulty amenities. If something should break during your visit, on site staff will correct the problem swiftly, on the same day, if possible. I review the furnishings semi-annually to assure they are in top condition.

The Bailey-Matthews Shell Museum will give you background and perspective on the shore's treasures. The Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge will introduce you close up to tropical birds, migrants, alligators and one crocodile. Three championship golf courses are right on the Island with many more nearby in Ft. Myers. We spent a week at Ocean's Reach in a very comfortable, clean, well appointed 2 bedroom condo near the quiet side of the complex but with a view of the pool. Being in a corner unit enabled us to see the sun rise every morning from bed-wow! The office staff were helpful and accommodating. We had ordered bicycles for the week and they were waiting for us in the car park. We rode all over the island on the paved bike paths. It was an unusually cool week, but it didn't stop us from being out on the beach--shelling, bird watching during the day, and star gazing at night. The resident ospreys have eggs they are sitting on in a nest near the pond and it is very entertaining to watch the activities as they come and go. Went to Doc Ford's and the Lazy Flamingo for lunch, and had dinner at Sanibel Steaks and the Mad Hatter. We have been to Sanibel in the past but keep returning to Ocean's Reach for the perfect vacation.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

The staff of Oceans Reach were excellent and helpful and available. The condo was very nice and the one we stayed in 4C2 had very comfortable bedding (A major priority for us). We enjoyed the pool area that was very quiet -no children around and a lot of great adult conversation. The veiw from our Lanai was amazing. Truly a place to relax and enjoy. Very comfortable accommodations. Management on-site is very good. The location simply could not be better. Quiet, off the beaten path, a real hidden gem. The beach is divine. We visited other beaches but there isn't any reason to! The one right out the door of the condo is perfection! Sanibel is a lovely tropical paradise that cherishes it's natural features. A lot of the island is protected wildlife preserve area. Riding one of the rental bikes is a great way to enjoy it all.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

About the owner: I am a retired public relations and marketing consultant and volunteer my services with Iowa Religious Media Services, an ecumenical media library that has six mainline denominations and their churches as members. I also play my flute with a group, sing in my church choir and enjoy cooking, gardening and working out.
Why the Owner Chose Ocean's Reach:
I purchased this unit with its perch on the edge of the sea because I am a water person. My mother, who also loved the water, had just come to the end of a long and productive life, so when I stay here I also remember her energy and inspiration. Ocean's Reach is a special sanctuary for me as well as a place where I have developed many friendships. The office staff is phenomenal. I serve on the board, was president during and after the hurricanes of 2004, and the way everyone pulled together to recreate us from that disaster is inspiring. Our vision was to create a first rate vacation destination and guest feedback tells us we have accomplished that and more.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Sitting in my condo, I can watch the changing moods of the sea from morning till night, from sunny days to storms. I am just 19 steps to the shell-beach, where I can go day or night as curiosity leads me. If I have a problem, the staff is always available to solve it. Cooking is a pleasure with a full kitchen and then the gas grills in the picnic area are also available. I can rent a bike on the property and follow the more than 14 miles of bike trails around the island, or veer off into an unpaved street to explore nooks and crannies.
