Welcome-- come stay at our fabulous Penthouse suite (MARDI GRAS BOOKED). Faubourg Marigny is a lovely historical neighborhood next to the French Quarter- 10 blks away. Area has a nice European feel to it, and is very artsy and eclectic. This building is a 175 year old corner-store creole building with a HUGE wrap-around balcony. This is the upstairs 1,300 sq ft private space with a view of 3 old church steeples from every corner. If this one is booked, I have another larger unit below with a beautiful courtyard for the same price; it's 1,500sf #256427. You can also rent both units for large groups--very popular. We cannot allow Events or Batchelor Parties at this home-this is a residential area, sorry.
This area has all you need within walking distance--grocery 2 blks away, coffee shops w/ WIFI, restaurants, antique/thrift shops, yoga, bars. 5 blks away is a Country Club with a great restaurant and pool/hot tub you can lounge in all day.
My home has 14' ceilings, wood floors, full kitchen with all you need, 2 baths, 2 bedrooms (one bed/bath is in the loft), washer/dryer,WIFI,cable TV,DVD,CD player,stereo. I have all new things-furniture, sheets, towels, beds, etc. This neighborhood is special; lots of people use their bicycles to get around, or walk. Luckily, we never got any flooding- we are on higher ground here.
Treat yourself--this is WAY better than a hotel!! Located 10 blocks to the French Quarter, 8 blks to Frenchman St. & 2 miles to the Convention Center. If you want to go to the Quarter, it's easy to park a few blks away from the Quarter, and walk in-the parking in the Quarter is crazy, so this works well. Parking is on the street, you always get a spot next to the house, and there are no meters to pay here! yea!! Rent or bring bikes-- best way to see the City!! Why the Owner Chose Marigny-Bywater
Vacations are very important, and i love being able to accomodate people with a great home in a great location--New Orleans is a special place, and buying this property is part of my contribution to restoring a beautiful section of New Orleans. Faubourg Marigny is very artsy, and eclectic. It is walking distance to a grocery, pool, great restaurants. It has a european quality to it that I love, and has the character. I also live here part time- I love the area!
The Unique Benefits at this House
4 blks to a wonderful thrift store and coffee house (great brunch),5 blocks to The Country Club pool and restaurant to lounge, 2 blks to a grocery, many 2nd lines cruise down the street with fun music and dancers every now and again.....only 8 blks to Frenchman St (great music and food), 10 blks to the French Quarter.

This is my second stay at this property; both times I felt 100% at home! I visit the city every 2-3 months--usually on a solo or +1 status. However, each time we have stayed in this house it has comfortably slept 3 couples. The property is clean, the neighborhood is lovely, and working with Carrie is as easy as pie! Yes, you need to drive to the quarter and surrounding attractions, but it's well worth it! Believe me, you wont regret booking this house!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

I stayed here with seven total people, and we had plenty of room. There's a small grocery store two blocks away, and the walk to the French Quarter and Bourbon Street was very doable. The living area is very comfortable - I even had some friends who live in New Orleans say this would be a cool place to live!

I rented this house for my family of five. Everyone loved the house atmosphere, and all was as described. The house was a great place to hang out, and I wish we had more time to spend there, but we were in town for the music. The neighborhood includes a great breakfast/coffee shop, groceries and supplies. Although the house is outside the edge of what you would call the tourist area, the walk (or drive) to the french quarter is picturesque. We had a car,but next time I would plan to rent bikes to get around and see more of the city. I would definitely stay here again.

I rented the Gypsy House for friends coming in to town for my 25th birthday. We were so impressed when we came into the front door. We went running around the house like the castmates on MTV's "Real World" do, it is SUCH a cool spot. It was very cold when we arrived, but heated up quickly. The owner left a great 'manual' with menus and sights to see for the guests. The kitchen was fully stocked, and when I lost my voice after a long night of partying, I was happy to search the kitchen and find herbal tea and honey. This place totally made my birthday weekend worthwhile for me and my guests. We were all able to live together and not be isolated by separate hotel rooms. We were able to cook a big breakfast and enjoy each other's company in one space that easily accommodated the 6 of us. One recommendation is to be bring an extra mirror (we did) if you will have a lot of girls with you as there is only on bathroom with one round mirror. Having the extra mirror made what could have been a serious traffic jam, almost seamless. DEFINITELY do this if you have a group visiting New Orleans, great quiet location- just minutes from the French Quarter and totally cool space. Lastly, I live here so it wasn't a big issue, but I would rent a car. its just easier that way.

Four of us (2 couples) stayed here for a long weekend and were very happy with the accommodations. The place is as presented and has a very relaxed feel to it. The neighborhood is cool, lots of local activity - had a great dinner nearby at Feelings Cafe. The owner was great to deal with, very upfront about small issues in her instructions to us although we experienced no problems at all.

What a great spot in a great neighborhood! We stayed in this beautiful, convenient condo for Jazz Fest. Just the two of us. Old college sweethearts who had not seen each other in 29 years. We truly enjoyed the space, sitting on the balcony for sunsets, walking to Flora's for coffee in the morning, walking to Feelings for dinner in the evening. What a wonderfully romantic spot to rekindle an old flame. We can't wait to go back.
