Venice is a great little area. Ideally located just South of Sarasota and North of Fort Myers.
Our home is fully loaded with high quality linens and a fully stocked kitchen ready for entertaining. We just finished remodeling and the new kitchen and bathrooms look great. The master bath has a huge shower and the guest bath is fit out with a soaking tub. Directly on the golf course you can't beat the views. For news junkies like us; a 50+" TV is in the living room and both bedrooms have TVs as well. Oh, and we have closet space galore...
Since you do not go on vacation to clean; cleaning service is provided for stays of one month or more on a bi-weekly schedule.
You will find fantastic beaches within 15 minutes of our home, plenty of golf as well as other sports and activities are easily accessible. There are many eating establishments to choose from which include; reputable chains, friendly personalized “hotspots” and high end establishments all in close proximity.
We like Venice for its quaint old world charm – the Island of Venice is about a 10 minute drive and has a terrific main street (called Venice Ave). Grab a burger at TJ Carney’s or take in a show at the Venice Playhouse. You might like to browse the antique shops, craft and art galleries in the village. On the mainland you can find nearly every big box retailer or choose from a variety of malls all within a short drive including St. Armand’s Circle, a unique area which has beautiful boutiques and restaurants – great for a special day/night out.
If you like the beach you have come to the right place. Venice has some of the best beaches you can find – see information and directions in the “Beaches” tab of our welcome guide. Our home is also located right near Englewood and Manasota Key – which also have fantastic beaches. If Venice is the ‘Charming Old Village’, Manasota Key is the relaxed beach community – not too crowded or overbuilt, but you can find a great lobster roll and a cold beverage while taking in a beautiful sunset.
We are also located a half hour from Siesta Key and Boca Grande – which are both known as having the best beaches in the US and some claim the World.
For the baseball fans; this is a home run... More than 9 major league spring training camps within one hour or less. Come watch the pros in the relaxed setting of a neighborhood park.
Sarasota – is the “city” of the Central Southwest. It has numerous art venues, Botanical Gardens, museums and other attractions. There is a catalog of local events and activities at the house to get you started.
Lastly; Tampa, Orlando and Naples are all less than a 2.5 hour drive with all the amusement parks, casinos and shopping you could visit in a decade.

We moved to Florida in 2005 for work, school and family reasons and were drawn to Venice. Born and raised in the NorthEast, I was taken by the beautiful beaches and amazing weather. While work has brought us back up North we love our little slice of heaven in the South.
Why the Owner Chose Plantation Golf & Country Club
We just fell in love with the area. It was so charming and beautiful without being overdeveloped. The beaches were pure white sand, the water clear and the most amazing colors of blue and green. The center of town was perfect old Florida with all of the modern amenities we are used to close by and bunch of hidden gems to call our own.
What I liked best is that it is Always sunny. Being from the NorthEast I love the changing seasons but down here I am always happy because the sun is always shining...
