Everything one would need in their own home is furnished and well thought out. We would recommend this property and the one next door without hesitation. Situated in the great village of Carlsbad makes it more than a perfect vacation spot. Within 1 to 4 blocks you have access to some wonderful restaurants and such a variety. A highlight for us was the fenced in yard for our dog. It is not easy to find a beautiful spot like this that welcomes your pet/pets. Property inside and out was immaculate. Dealing with the owner was a pleasure and we hope to be back within the year!!!

This was a great place for our small family get together - 2 grandparents, 2 parents, and 2 grandsons, ages 2 and 7. It was great to be so close to the ramp to the beach, the train station, many great eating places, and the awesome bike route from Carlsbad south. The big plus was a beach house on one level with one step to this wonderful fenced in front yard. With smaller kids and all of us rather independent, we definitely lucked out in choosing this place.

My family and I (4 adults & 1 dog) spent the Christmas holiday week staying at this wonderful beach house. The house was everything we expected. Plenty of room for everyone. Great location. Very clean house,and front yard. Well maintained inside and out. Comfortible beds. Owner was easy to communicate with, and checked in with us to make sure everything was going well. Description was accurate. We loved watching the sunset from the front yard each evening. Only wish the house was closer to the Del Mar dog beach, but it was a nice drive down the coast to Del Mar. We will stay here again, if we decide to go back to Carlsbad. Highly recommend this beach house.

My husband and I stayed at the cottage with our daughter and dog for several weeks and we enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. It was kid and dog friendly and we loved the proximity to the beach and to the village - it was great being within walking distance to food and shopping. The owners were responsive and keep the property well-maintained. We highly recommend the cottage for a vacation stay.

This was our second vacation at the cottage. There is no better location in Carlsbad and the cottage has everything a family needs to enjoy the fabulous weather and the beautiful beach. New floors and new television sets make the experience even better. The owners are a pleasure to deal with. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

GREAT LITTLE BEACH COTTAGE

We've been coming to Carlsbad for several years. Stayed at this house for the first time. Everyone loved the house including my Yorkshire Terrier and Maltese pups. Very comfortable home, wonderful location so close to the beach, you can hear the sound of the waves if you're in the front yard! The enclosed front yard with chain link fence was really nice for dogs - no worry that they could leave yard. Having a washer & dryer to use with no charge was great. We definitely would stay here again!

This was our first time doing VRBO. My husband, 3 year old & 1 year old & myself wanted to do a beach vacation. This was the best fit for us. The cottage was clean, close to the beach, close to town (about 2 blocks) and had a small yard to get a break from the sand! We had a fantastic time. Walked all over Carlsbad and went to the beach at least twice every day! This cottage had everything we needed, even a pack and play! :) I would come back in a heartbeat! THANK YOU for a fantastic vacation!

We LOVED our stay here. We have two young children (3 and 1 1/2 yrs.) and this house was perfect for us. The beach is at the end of the block and all the shops and restaurants are within short walking distance. (The drive to and from San Diego is a short one, too!) The location couldn't be anymore perfect. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything that we could possibly need for our stay including sand toys which were a big hit with the boys. Thank you for the great memories!!

Great Vacation House

My daughter and her two sons, age 5 & 6 and I spent a fun filled week at this property. It was very clean and well furnished and very close to everything. Darla was easy to work with and we would definately stay here again in the future. The location was perfect and the boys enjoyed the beach, Legoland, Sea World, the Wild Animal Park and attending a Padre's game. For shoppers, the Carlsbad Outlet Mall is great. Had to eat at kid-friendly restaurants, so not much fine dining on this trip.

My family and I stayed for our Sprimg Break and it was perfect from the location to the amenities. It is a charming and clean cottage provided with all that we needed for a comfortable and fun stay. Carlsbad village is absolutely charming and the location is great within walking distance to great dining and shopping. The best part was the easy access to the beach! My family and I have been traveling to this area for vacation for as long as I can remember. Until our last trip out a few weeks ago we have always stayed at Hotels near by. Well let me tell you that will never happen again! This house had all that we needed and so much more. The location is perfect, the view is wonderful and it's a minute walk to the beach. We had all the comfort of Home and found everything we needed at our finger tips or in walking distance. There is something to entertain kids of all ages, even our pooch had a great trip. We couldn't have asked for more. Darla is a wonderful hostess and we cannot wait to visit again!

St. Paddy's Day Weekend

Great location, only got in the car to go to the market. We walked everywhere. Beach is one-minute away. Restaurants, shops, bars are all within walking distance. Coffee and bagels on the front patio in the morning, enjoying the beach view. We also prepared a feast with local goods including fresh fish from the nearby market. Property was clean and comfortable. We were six people so we had to coordinate use of one bath. Knowing this I would not hesitate to recommend or return to this property again.

We spent three wonderful months at the Beach Cottage with our two dogs. Everything we could ask for and more in an extended stay get-a-way! Steps to the beach, brief stroll to the village, everything within walking distance. Cottage is well equipped, spacious and in a safe, clean neighborhood. We'll be back next winter!

This cottage is adorable!!! The three bedrooms were perfect. We wondered how the 1 bath would be, but it all turned out great because we "shared" well. One suggestion: please add two more kitchen chairs to the table. Highly recommend it, especially if you have kids!

Thank you for an amazing two months at this perfect Carlsbad vacation home! We loved walking to downtown to enjoy all the Carlsbad fun, crossing the street to watch the sunset with all the locals (and their dogs!), playing at the beach and eating at Senior Grubbys and Pizza Port! While this house isn't beach front it is across the street and a few houses up. You can see the ocean from the front yard, but you can't hear it. The house is great place to stay for more than two people, the only downside is one bathroom, but for the price it was worth the bathroom wait. The owner was quick to respond to emails and most important expedient in returning the security deposit. Carlsbad is a great place for a family vacation and the beach was beautiful.

This was our second summer at the Carlsbad beach cottage. The property is so well maintained. It is near shops, restaurants and the beach. Perfect for families. We loved to sit out in the front yard and have dinner with an ocean view. We had such a great, relaxing time. Worth every penny. The owners are very agreeable and easy to deal with. We would recommend the property and hope to come back ourselves.

My husband, son, and I stayed in the beach cottage this past week and had an amazing time! We were minutes away from the beach and less than 10 minutes away from LegoLand which was a big hit with my son! The city of Carlsbad is really a cute area that we hope to visit again in the future. I have MS and the temp. was perfect. I could live here year round! I would totally recommend staying at this beach cottage. The location was also minutes away from Seafood, American, and Mexican cafes. Wishing I were there now :)

We had a great time, as we do every year in the Carlsbad beach area. Your place was very comfortable for our whole family. The beach access was so easy and quick. location was excellent, you could see the ocean from windows and a great view from the patio. spent many hours out there! we loved that the bedrooms were separated providing privacy, rooms were pretty big. all the necessities were there, including enough towels for beach and showers. the area is great with shops, many restaurants, convenience store, etc. we didnt use the car the entire week, everything within walking distance. great place, owners were attentive and friendly. we will definitely come back. thanks!

We spent a week at the Beach Cottage and had a wonderful time. We have been vacationing in Carlsbad for many years and this was the best experience yet. The cottage has a great ocean view and a fabulous front patio. You can be on the beach in just about 30 seconds and in the charming village in two or three minutes. We parked the car, tossed out our shoes, and had a great time. The owners were easy to deal with and the cottage has everything you need to enjoy a beach vacation.

There simply is NO better beach access in Carlsbad! You can see and hear the surf from your window. Great location, close to shops and dining, good price and LOVE those sunsets!
