My husband and I rented this house with our close friends for a week the beginning of December 2010, just weeks after Hurricane Tomas. We were a little nervous to be heading to the island so soon after the devastation the island experienced, but we were greeted with nothing but warmth and good nature. The ride from the airport was long, nearly 2 hours, but the house was worth the drive. We were so happy with the house, the staff, and the views! The house has everything you need, and is quite comfortable. We were busy with a wedding and many events around the wedding of some friends and actually feel sad we didn't have longer to just relax and spend extra time in the home. There is ample space, and we felt at home the moment we walked in. If you are looking for luxary this is not the place for you, you will not find fancy linens or pristine quality of furniture, but you will find real life comfort. The views were by far the best part of the house, from every angle. We loved our stay here, and when and if we make another trip to St Lucia, we would love to stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

After two flats and a dead car battery we arrived @ Mandaris Villa to be completely blown away by the view of the twinkling town lights below and the smell of Jasmine in the air. The room decor is minimilistic but more is not needed. The only two negatives would be the mosquitoes and the roads leading to the villa. Pretty isolated, so taxi service must be taken just about everywhere unless you are a very brave and skilled driver. Tell your cab drivers that you are in "Mont du Cap" although not part of developement everyone will know where the villa is that way. Yet if you are looking for the perfect get away from it all, this is the place for you. The nearby beach that you can walk to is quite beautiful, beach chairs and umbrellas can be rented for the day. A day pass for the Landings resort entitles you to an unlimited lunch buffet . I read on the veranda everyday with the cool breezes coming in off the ocean. My husband and I were served breakfast every morning outside where the local little birds would join us as well. The pool an added bonus for cooling off in a relaxing and beautiful surroundings. John, the caretaker and the housekeeper/cook.. (regular person on vacation) were very warm, friendly and very willing to please in every way. The markets for groceries are in nearby Rodney Bay and there is a drugstore in the same shopping center for your toiletries. We went further up the road for 5 min to enjoy a lovely dinner and evening @ Cap Maison Resort which had a live band and dancing under the stars. Very much enjoyed a day trip to Ladera in Soufriere where their infinity pool has you facing the amazing pitons. A perfect place to have lunch.Marigot Bay was another wonderful day trip. The beach was beyond beautiful and incredibly tranquil. Enjoy your stay!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car.
