My family and I have just returned from our visit to Truro and I am already excited to plan a trip back for the future. From the moment we arrived at the cottage, I was incredibly surprised with all of the "extras" available to us at our home away from home. When an incredible rain storm came in our first afternoon, we passed the time by the roaring fire playing trivia games and completing the jigsaw puzzles found in the closets upstairs. With the sun shining the rest of the week, we quickly developed a morning routine of drinking coffee on the beach, and with the oversized coffee mugs from the cabinets, we walked forever before coming back for refills. During the days, we pried ourselves away from our haven to take in all the sites. Eccentric people and unique shops kept us entertained in town for hours, and despite the sunburn and sore muscles (from carrying all of our purchases!) we returned more than once in an effort to see it all. In the evenings, we walked to the local markets to pick up a fresh catch or grabbed some meat and veggies for dinner on the grill. After a quick game of football on the beach, we sat out on the deck to watch the sun set while we ate dinner. The cottage had everything we needed and so many extras. Plastic dinnerware and trays, along with skewers, made eating Shish Babob on the grill a cinch, and left more time for games and happy hours. The large dinner tables allowed every meal to be a family meal; it felt like a holiday dinner everyday. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful experience our trip was. The owners, Ross and Mike, provided so much information ahead of time, and the books, journals, and brochures that were in the house gave us ample opportunities to discover new places and try new things. Extra quilts in the closet allowed us get nice and cozy by the fire on the cooler nights, and the plethora of windows throughout the house gave us an incredible breeze during the day. All of the pots, pans, serving dishes, and cookery made cooking so easy (much easier than at my own house!) that we only went out for one meal during our 5 day stay. We will definitely be back! This place is perfect for a family trip, but also for trips away with a group of friends. Looking forward to our next opportunity to get away to this paradise by the sea! Ashley

The best way to describe this cottage is home-away-from-home. Like others have said, the pictures only begin to tell the story of this lovely 'quintessential' spot. Each room tells a story and the decor throughout is original and creative. You will want to roam the beach and relax on the deck for hours on end. It was quiet and pristine, we felt as though we were on only ones on earth. Can’t wait to go again. And of course, the owners are as wonderful as the cottage. A must!

I cannot say enough about this property. It was more beautiful than we expected. The house had everything you would need for a week away from home. The beach was the best on the Cape. We had the time of our lives.

When you think Cape Cod beach house, this is the house and location you picture. Great deck to relax on and enjoy the view of Cape Cod bay. The bed were very comfortable made even more so by the cool sea breeze coming in the windows. The upstairs shower has a view to die for. The kitchen is very well equipted and functional. I would highly recommend this house to everyone! Thanks Ross and Mike, it was a dream vacation.

What a great way to unwind after a long winter! Relaxing and cozy, but with beautiful rooms that made me want to redecorate my own home...We woke up and took walks on the beach right outside our door...the dog was welcome, and it was a short bike ride into town. If we ever had a house on the cape, this is what we would want. Couldn't have been happier with our stay. We would definitely recommend it!

This is a really special home right on the beach! We had a 4 day April girls getaway with my sisters and three of our teenage kids. It was perfect for all of us. First off, the location is amazing. Right on the beach with a beautiful deck, comfortable seating, a grill, and gorgeous dining table. We read outside, drank wine watching the sunset, had a bonfire (complete with s'mores) right on the beach off of the house. The house itself is lovingly decorated, immaculate, and extremely comfortable. All of the bedrooms have water views and the beds are great. The kitchen was completely equipped and there was a great indoor dining room for colder evenings. The living room has a lovely original fireplace and the kids were really happy with the large flat screen , dvd player, etc. There is a large assortment of board games and the chance to reconnect over a killer game of Scrabble. The house is an easy bike ride or walk from the center of Provincetown and all of the action. Half of the businesses were open when we were there and we had some great meals and plenty of shopping time. The spot must be amazing in season but it was perfect also for a quieter spring vacation. Time to walk on the beach, take naps, enjoy town without the craziness. Without kids it would be really romantic too. We'll be back. Thanks so much for the recharging!

If this cottage is available, look no further. You’ll find it exactly as described, no surprises. It’s one of the finest kept cottages on the bay and is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Provincetown. The inside is a perfect mix of new and old with a warm “at home” charm and a functional fireplace for cooler nights. The views of the bayside, parabolic dunes around Pilgrim Lake and night views of Provincetown are breathtaking. A favorite bayside view is out the window in the upstairs shower. We particularly appreciated the owner’s genuine efforts to communicate the details and ensure our stay was pleasurable. We definitely hope to return.

Just wanted to drop you a line to express how happy and enjoyable our vacation was. Seeing the pictures of the house in the add online do not do this rental property justice. The house, the area and the beach were fantastic. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The new deck was perfect. Great house. Great job. We would like to make this a yearly vacation destination.

We've rented 584 Shore Road four or five times now in virtually every season. The location is ideal with bayside beach access out the back door and PTown, the National Seashore and the rest of the Outer Cape a short drive (or shuttle) away. The house is magnificently appointed yet simultaneously functional and comfortably livable. The maintenance and responsiveness of the owners makes it obvious that they care dearly about the property. 584 has quite simply become a home away from home for us. If you're so lucky as to rent this property, please treat it with the love and care that we do!

I spent the week between Christmas and New Years in this lovely, warm, welcoming home. It is astonishingly well insulated for a winter stay. The entire house is comfortable, well-designed and well furnished. It expanded easily from a solitary haven to accommodate friends and family who joined me at the end to welcome the New Year. The kitchen is amazing—with more tools and utensils than I have at home. The owners kindly called to check on me. I would highly recommend this property. There wasn't much going on that week down the road in Provincetown, but there were still plenty of restaurants and shops available.

This is our third stay in Truro at the Cape Cod Beach Cottage on Shore Road. From our first visit, my husband and I knew this was a special place. The owners have taken such care to make this a "home away from home". Comfortable bedrooms and beds, well supplied linens ,updated and well supplied kitchen and a cozy livingroom to relax in after spending time in town, a day at the beach or exploring the beautiful seashore and sand dunes. There are oceans views from inside as well as from the outside deck were the ocean views are spetacular from sun up to sun down. There are many great restaurants near by along with many fresh seafood markets if you decide to cook in. We are looking forward to our 2009 stay and many more in the future. This truly is a Cape Cod Beach Cottage. John & Kathleen

My family rented this home from reading and seeing pictures online. We were so happy when we got there to see that the home was even more beautiful in person. The house is beautiful on the outside with the new landscaping in the front yard and the addition of a shed for renters to store their bikes. It was clear to us that the home is so well cared for by the owners, every bathroom has been updated and the bedrooms are new and clean with fresh linens and comforters. The dining area was nice to have but we found ourselves eating out on the expansive deck overlooking the water far more often. My children enjoyed watching movies at night in their room while my husband and I watched football in the family room. The beach is clean and steps away from the back deck. The owners seem to have gone to a lot of trouble trying to think of everything that a family would need to make their stay comfortable. Just over 3 miles away we found fantastic restaurants for dinner and breakfast in Provincetown. The proximity to Provincetown offers so many opportuities for fishing, boating, whale watches and shopping. You can bike from the home to many trails through the dunes as well. There is no other home down the Cape that we would rent now that we have found this.

We have rented this home twice over the last few years from the owners directly. We found it on the internet and knew the general area from prior visits. The owners did a great job in renovating the place and it is simply wonderful. The house may appear small however it really is quite spacious with plenty of room to work in the kitchen - eat inside or outside - grill outside and everything. You cannot beat the location...you can walk out to the beach in the backyard and just enjoy the water and the view of P-Town. You are on the Bus Line so you can take the bus right into P-Town and not worry about parking. We enjoy riding our bikes and its a great spot to do that - they even have a new shed to keep all of your vacation toys for your trip. We are going back this summer (2009) for our 3rd trip and cannot wait.

I love this house. The information in the description doesn't give it the justice it deserves. The owners have provided the comforts of home rather than the cheap junk of a tag sale that's found in most rentals. My experience well exceeded what I read. This is a well loved house that deserves to be rented by people who care about other people's property and care about the quality of where they stay. I will not look for any other place to rent when planning a vacation on the Cape.
