Napili Point - nearly perfect

Just returned from a week in Maui. The property is in the Napili Point Resort C-16. The pictures presented here are representative of what you'll find; it is very nice. You can google other units in the Resort for comparison. Everything is very nice. The view is beautiful. Honokeana Bay is directly ahead. Sea turtles and surfers, humpbacks beyond! Napili Bay (the beach!) is accessible via a small path along the rocky (but very passable: even barefoot carrying beach chairs) point. You'll pass the Gazebo restaurant (great breakfast) along the way. You could also cut through the parking lot (plenty of parking) past a few resorts along the busy, narrow road with no sidewalks to the public access path. There is a small general store here where you can buy your own toilet paper! (also snacks, or snorkeling gear, or those other must have nows!) This condo doesn't come with maid service, though the resort can provide this for an additional fee. There is a washer/dryer in the unit to keep your towels fresh though. The resort is mostly quiet beyond the relaxing crashing waves. This unit is directly adjacent to a path leading along the north shore of the cove (very rocky for water access, dangerous with much surf. You can sneak through the neighboring condo to nice steps at the east tip of the cove) to the around the point towards Napili Bay. A bit of noise here well after sunrise with foot travel. The condos lawn will shelter you if the beach is too windy. Kapalua Resort is very fancy and very close. Go a few blocks without sidewalks there is a beachfront trail leading up to the golf course. Kaanapali and Lahaina aren't a far drive. I suggest playing at the beach all day and then head into town for a sunset dinner. We loved the lanai and adjacent seating area as the sun came up and after it set. Well equipped kitchen (stock up at Costco or Safeway rather than in napili, use if for small stuff). There were four in our party. My wife and I staying in the downstairs bedroom. Comfy queen sized bed, felt very private except for the parking lot windows. No view to stop us from using the blinds there. Our friends stayed in the loft. Very firm California King upstairs (had to get a memory foam from Costco; it did not remain in the condo). Our only qualms would be the stiff bed, running out of TP by the third day, and hot water is very short. The rain drop shower heads must be used in shifts. Had a great time, would try to repeat it! 3/2/09
Owner response:Prior to each guest's arrival this condominium is stocked with fresh starter supplies of bath and hand soaps, paper towels, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, toilet paper (at least two new rolls per bathroom), tissues, and miscellaneous other items. If these supplies are exhausted it is left to the discretion of the guest as to whether or not they choose to purchase additional supplies for their use.

Beautiful Luxurious Condo

The description and pictures of the condo accurately describe this beautifully decorated, luxurious unit. The Asian touches, the well equipped kitchen, the spiral staircase, and the views make it a one of kind vacation haven. Sitting on the balcony watching the whales and the sea turtles was relaxing and fun. If you like to snorkel, you can swim with the six giant sea turtles that live in the cove. The property was clean and well maintained. Internet access is free of charge. There was plenty of dishwashing and dishwasher soap, paper towels, bath tissues, and trash bags. Ann and Rhon provided great customer service and took care of things promptly. There are four golf courses within fifteen minutes of Napili - highly recommend the Kai course at Kaanapali with twilight fees starting at 1 pm! If you want to go whale watching, the Gemini, which sails from Kaanapali beach in front of the Westin is a great trip - you get a 10% discount if you sign up on their webpage (www.geminicharters.com). If you like to cook, the kitchen in the condo has everything you could possibly want. The Napili Market and the market in Kahana both have good selections of items - we highly recommend the butterfish! We enjoyed eating lunch at Maui Taco in Napili Plaza. For a once in a lifetime treat, have lunch at Mama's Fish House in Paia. For overall selection, presentation, quality, service, ambiance and the best view ever, it is worth the high prices for a special treat. We have both stayed in a number of hotels and condos on Maui and agree this is by far the nicest unit we have ever used. We have already recommended it to friends and look forward to returning next year.

Napili Point Resort is a wonderful place to vacation. The view from the room and around the resort is spectacular and snorkeling with the turtles and sea life right in front of the condo was a thrill. The amenities of the condo are great, nicely appointed, and nearby shops and resorts and beaches make this a "great find". I would highly recommend staying here for a long vacation and look forward to the day that I might return.

My family and I had the good fortune to visit Maui after many years away. Given the hopeless prospect of her parents spending more than 20 minutes looking for the perfect place, our daughter thankfully took charge and spent several hours looking for the perfect accomodations. Pictures can deceive but in this case the actual was equal to and more than what was expected. The first evening we sat on the balcony and looked at stars and the next morning we walked 20 yards and were swimming with sea turtles as the sun was barely up. Given ten or twelve hours engaged in the activity of following these guys around I do recommend future travelers exercise some restraint. Local beach's are fantastic. Activities and restaurants are great as well. I will definetely stay here again.

What a great location, and a well maintained rental. Everything you need to enjoy the beach-or just set on the deck and watch the turtles swin in the bay. I would recomend this rental for everyone. We own a vrbo rental in Seattle, and try to stay at other vrbo rentals, rather than a hotel. This was as great experience. Ron & Marcella

We stayed in this condo for a week and had the best time! The listing description is accurate. It's as beautiful in real life as on those pictures. I was a little bit concerned that it didn't have A/C. However, we had no problem with heat at all even though it was the middle of summer. We enjoyed the gentle breeze and it was even cool at nights. When we moved in, the property was very clean and I liked that it didn't have a maid service (made me feel more at home than in a hotel). The area has 3G coverage - no need to buy internet connection if you have a 3G card for your computer. Me and my husband slept in the upstairs bedroom and really loved that in the mornings you could open your eyes and see the ocean right outside. The bed is kind of hard but we got used to it quickly. We went to Gazebo only once. It's not a bad place - has a good view and very friendly staff. We preferred to have breakfast on our lanai with a view on the bay and look at the early-rise snorkelers and the turtles. We bought most of the food at Napili Market (at Napili Plaza) which is a very short drive away. It had everything that you need to have a good breakfast and to make snacks for the beach. We also bought 100% kona coffee there to take home - cheaper than you'll find in other places. The bathroom on the first level can actually be used as a powder room - the toilet has its own doors and has a separate sink. Very convenient! In the condo next to us stayed another family and we could hear them too well as all the windows and doors were opened - it wasn't big concern to us, as overall the area was quiet. There are many great beaches nearby. I would recommend T.D. Fleming beach, 5-7 minutes drive to the north (through a very picturesque Kapalua) - one the best beaches in country. It has a lifeguard, bathrooms, tables for picnics, some trees for shade and it's not very crowded. In the evening we went to Lahaina and the Whaler's Village. Lahaina felt too crowded after Napili but it's worth going at least once. Whalers' village is closer and has a nice pathway along the beach for a stroll at sunset before going to a restaurant. I would recommend this place to anybody. We had a very good time and already thinking about returning next year.

Let's face it, vaction time is sacred, so if you are looking for that PERFECT place, THIS IS IT! I have been to the islands at least 15 times and never found THE place I wanted to return to again and again, until now. The unit is beautiful, everything you could possibly need is here and the decor is stunning. The view is spectacular, turtles, whales, and sunsets, oh my! In your face ocean view! Snorkeling right outside your door that rival any I have ever seen, swim with turtles as big as a volkswagon. Five stars aren't enought for this one!
