A delightful secluded Romantic Rustic Hide-Away. Set back in over an acre of magnificent foliage. Sit on the lanai or bathe in the hot tub listening to the sounds of the crashing waves nearby. At nights wonderful views of the stars and planets from the deck or upstairs lanai . 5 minute walk to Kehena Beach (Black Sand Beach- Clothing Optional). 15 minutes to quaint Pahoa with it's many cafes, restaurants and natural food stores.
Less than 10 mins. drive to the lava flow at Kalapana, where lava is flowing into the ocean. 30 minutes to Hilo, where you can visit the new Imiloa Center for Astronomy & Planeterium, Rainbow Falls, the Mokupapapa Discovery Center, Queen Liliuoklanai Park with its beautiful Japanese Gardens,
the Botanical Gardens, Pacific Tsunami Museum, the Palace Theater, the Suisan Fish Market, the Farmers Market, the Panaewa Rainforest Zoo and many other fascinating places.
This part of the Big Island is a great place to learn the history of the Hawaiian People and the relationship of the seas to the stars. 45 minutes to Volcano National Park. So much to do and see, though you may decide just to remain in this very peaceful and tropical setting. During the whaling season can often see beaching whales, and most days it is a great treat to view the antics of the spinning dolphins. In season help yourself to the great abundance of different fruits and vegetables. For swimming, the Warm Tide Pools are wonderful and there is also great snorkeling nearby
