Great Rental in Beautiful Historic District

I have used VRBO multiple times in the past in various locations throughout the country, and I must say this house had more character, charm, and amenities than all the others combined. Heather was very accommodating in our ever changing arrival time, and greeted us graciously hours later than we thought we would be there, politely showing us around the house and answering any questions we had. Everything we came to see in Savannah's Historic District was within easy walking distance, including the River Street area, which at a leisurely pace takes about 20 minutes. Forsyth Park is at the end of the block, and the grocery store is only a few blocks away-- again an easy walk, even with grocery bags! But, back to the house, the beds are wonderful, the kitchen well appointed ( you'll be eating most of your meals out -- too many great local places and not enough time!), and having a washer and dryer (and laundry soap) available comes in handy, even if you don't think you'll need it while on vacation! You are renting the main level of this house, but you would never know that anyone even lived in the upper level as there was literally no noise coming from up there at all. The front porch is great in the evening with a glass of wine, and the Starbucks coffee in the morning was a nice touch. I am so glad I found this rental on vrbo, and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to vacation in this beautiful, charming city consider staying at Hopkins House.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My husband and I met two friends for a quick getaway in Savannah. Because we hadn't seen each other in awhile , we didn't want to stay in the usual hotel set up. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay! The house was just what we needed; a very clean, comfortable, adorable two bedroom apartment right on Forsyth Park. The beds have super comfortable memory foam mattresses, the linens are wonderful. The house was big enough for us to have our own space if we needed it and perfect for just hanging around with a cup of coffee in the morning or wine in the evening. Close to everything, especially if you like walking. A few nice nearby restaurants if you've walked all day and don't want to head all the way back up toward River Street. A few blocks away from a Krogers and just a block away from a coffee shop and natural food store. The pound of Starbucks coffee was a nice treat. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever in Savannah!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed our time at the Hopkins House. It is a little over 1 mile to the river but is a really nice walk with shade almost the entire way. Forsyth park is great with a playground and fountain that my son loved and there was a really nice farmers' market on Sunday morning. The house itself was stocked with everything you'd need for the kitchen (coffee maker, pots and pans, utensils), the beds were memory foam and very comfortable, there was a washer and dryer with detergent, and there was even a nice selection of DVDs which we used on one rainy afternoon. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you enjoy walking a city, which we do.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with young children.

We enjoyed a nice 5-day stay at Hopkins House in mid-spring. The location is close to Forsythe Park provided easy walking for exercise and for touring Savannah. The restored house is comfortable and spotless, and nicely decorated with a modern kitchen, upscale bathroom, spacious bedrooms and closets and attractive woodwork and wide plank wood floors. Amenities are generous, and include movies, a personal welcome and suggestions for activities and restaurants. Although there is a shared back patio, we spent time relaxing on the front porch, watching the neighbors coming and going, some even stopping to chat. We would recommend Hopkins House.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, girls getaway.

We recently stayed at Hopkins House and had the most wonderful time. Savannah is gorgeous but what made our stay even better were Heather & Wes's personal touches. Meeting us on arrival and providing so many thoughtful little extras was so appreciated (eg the map of the historic district with Heather's recommendations for eating out, the beach bags with sunblock and beach towels, DVDs set in Savannah - I could go on and on). The property was extremely comfortable (the beds are divine), spotlessly clean and had plenty of room for my husband, myself and two boys (13 and 11 years). The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly require. The location was perfect for exploring the historic district and is very close to several well stocked grocery stores. We have stayed at a number of VRBO properties and this is definitely the best. The only downside was that we couldn't stay longer. Thanks again Heather & Wes!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This home is very comfortable and very well supplied and maintained. The property managers do a FABULOUS job. I learned a thing or two on how to improve my customer service for my vacation rentals on Roatan. The location of this home is wonderful ~ it is a short walk to the park and restaurants but it is not in a busy area of the city. The beds are very comfortable. 'The kitchen is spacious and well equipped. The enclosed backyard is very nice. The bedrooms are well separated and spacious. The renovation has been done very nicely. We definitely hope we are welcomed back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a choice to make: Get two FREE nights at the Mansion on Forsyth Park, or extend our stay and pay for the extra days at Hopkins House. We think we made the right decision! Our stay at Hopkins House was flawless. It had everything we needed for two people in separate bedrooms, everything worked perfectly and the location was ideal for our needs. Our hosts were lovely, and the wine upon arrival was a nice welcoming touch. We'll stay again should we revisit Savannah.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We were fortunate to spend a week at the Hopkins House thanks to the professional and friendly, efficient management of Heather & Wes. The accommodations allowed us to relax and also host a couple of family events during our son's graduation from SCAD. Thank you so much. Heather even provided some special kitchen supplies asked for in advance. We were very comfortable in our "home away from home," and we are somewhat reluctant to leave. Hoping to return again - and will recommend Hopkins House to others, especially SCAD parents. Met and exceeded expectations!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
