This was an amazing place to stay. The view was beyond compare. It was close to everything. The home was extremely clean. Scott, the host and owner, was superb/perfect! When we visit Los Angeles again, we'll likely stay at Scott's place in "the Hills" again. We felt like we were on top of the world!!! Thanks, Scott!!!
Owner response:I try very hard to be as welcoming as possible and make any stay memorable! :)

The apartment itself is really lovely and the balcony is just amazing - fantastic views and a great place to drink a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Good location - only takes 10mins to walk down the hill and you are direct on Sunset which itself has plenty of bars/restaurants and taxis can be easily taken to other areas. We had a car so in the day we found it in a really good spot for getting to other sites, attractions etc. All in all we had the best time in LA and were so lucky with this Apartment - cannot wait to come back and will definately be contacting Scott to stay here again!

We had a most amazing time living in the sky for a week in WeHo at Scott's place. What a kind host Scott was! We had everything we needed to make our stay fabulous. Swinging on the patio while watching the views and Fireworks!! was amazing. We will be back. Close to all the great restaurants: Playa, Spago, Capital Grill, etc! Barney, Gypsy and Frida loved the patio and walking all over the hills! Thanks Scott!

We had a fabulous two weeks at this property. Having stayed in many high end hotels in the area over the years, I can safely say that the view from this property cannot be topped. The property is adequate for a base, with a comfortable bed, equipped kitchen and a nice living area. It is ideally located, just minutes from Sunset Boulevard. Scott is a very accommodating and honest person and we would not hesitate to stay here again. He lets you know where he is if you need him, but allows you to get on with things and totally respects your privacy. Our days of hotels in West Hollywood are over! Thank you Scott, we hope to see both you and Cooper later in the year. P.S...keep using that face cream, it works!!! xx
Owner response:I try to treat my guests like family...and because it isn't a hotel with room service, maid service and a front desk, I try to be as accessible as possible to make sure everyone's vacation is the best! I loved having you Jac & Ali and hope to see you again!

I have to say that Scott is a great guy with a great sense of humor. Hospitable and considerate, the place is well kept and the atmosphere is chill. Of course, the view is breath taking and turning off the inside lights while looking out at the city lights at night is beautiful.

This was my first time in CA, and i have to say this was the icing to the cake. I was nervous about staying here when i saw the first review but it was too late the trip was already prepared. I got in expecting this to be a horrible place, but honestly it was wonderful. The owner is upfront and honest about the place the pictures and descriptions are all accurate. I'm not really sure what the previous reviewer was talking about. The place was close to the city and I was able to explore all i wanted with ease. The first night i stayed there I sat on the porch and watched the sunset over the city it was a view most people will never get to experience in their lives. I am saving up to make another trip and i will be returning to the same place without a doubt.
Owner response:...and you are welcome to come back!

the view didn't offset our vacation rental requirements. No closet to hang clothes, the kitchen was not fully equipped with basic cooking utensils, and the bathroom has no space. This property is less of 1 BR house/duplex, but more of a studio apartment above the owner's home. The covered parking is the front porch, which is shared with leftover remodeling debris. The patio deck is adorned with a dead potted tree. Missing screens on the patio doors, cracked mirrors on the wall, and it lacked in overall cleanliness. We moved after one night.
Owner response:I don't want to spent time listing all the false information contain in the review, but let's just say there is no front porch, a red leaf Japanese maple tree sheds it's leaves in winter...it doesn't die, and you can't write a review about a place you didn't stay in. Making unreasonable demands promising to write a bad review is not something that will make me succumb to a person's bad behavior. Fortunately I have 3 years of great guests before someone came along trying to get free rent and then writing a bad review for my unwillingness to comply.

This house was honestly breathtaking...both day and night!! The view was AMAZING!! There is a wonderful long windy road through the homes of the Hollywood Hills to the top where this house is located!! It is right off of Sunset so EVERYTHING Hollywood is right there!! Scott was so helpful with providing anything we needed to make our stay as great as it could be. If you're good tenants, he'll even show you where some highly paid well known actresses live...well their roofs anyway!! ;) P.S. Warning...those scared of heights...do not apply!! This is an eagle's view of Sunset Blvd. and West Hollywood!! Thank you Scott....I'll be back!! (said in a very Hollywood Schwarzenegger accent)

We recently stayed at Scott's house, and when we walked in the door we couldn't believe the view! The space is also very comfortable and Scott was extremely hospitable. We plan to make this our "normal" rental when we are visiting L.A.!
Owner response:Thx for your kind words. Please come back!

Staying here was the highlight of our trip. The views are just as great as others have mentioned, you are literally perched above Hollywood. Being a suburbanite, it was a bit of an adjustment. The drive is up to the house is a very windy and narrow road. After a couple of times you get used to it, but the first time it was a little intimidating. The house has Dish Network, which was very nice. The house is a 1950's vintage that has been remodelled, and it still appears to be somewhat of a work in progress. No curtain on the shower window was also a little surprising, but we just made sure to never shower at night! We used it as a base for our studio and Hollywood tours (Family of 4) and we were glad we stayed, it was really unique. We saw a side of Hollywood that we never would have saw if we stayed in a Hotel.

Thanks Scott for a lovely stay in your house in October, my family and I were thrilled with the place. The views of LA are amazing! You could just sit on the balcony and never leave watching the world go by! Scott left us some great tips for places to eat, things to see and even maps. I hope to see you again soon. Take care x

The stunning views from Scott's house are equal to his hospitality and responsiveness--both are excellent. The location was exceptionally convenient and besides, it's not everyday you get to look down on the Chateau Marmont!

Once you walk in the door and see the view you'll never want to leave. I took lots of pictures but they just don't do it justice. I would highly recommend this property as a base when you go sight seeing or just sit on the terrace and read for a couple of days.
Owner response:Rob, You and your family treated the place with such care I was actually surprised at how little work I had to do after you left! You are welcome back anytime. Scott
