Absolutely charming

Booking on line after seeing a few pictures is always a bit scary, so we were so happy when we walked through the door of this absolutely charming home away from home. It is advertised as one bedroom, but the top floor loft bedroom plus sofa bed on the main level, it accommodates 2 or more people very well. Christine was so helpful and easy to deal with, we will certainly be back.

Lovely Parisian pied-a-terre

The apartment was everything we hoped for and more. The decor of the apartment is charming and all modern conveniences are available. The windows open to allow a cooling breeze in the bedroom. The location is exceptional and afforded us the opportunity to walk to most of the important sights and museums we wanted to see in Paris. There are lots of good restaurants and bakeries nearby and a Monoprix (grocery store) less than 10 minutes walk. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wishes to visit Paris. We hope to be able to return.

A romantic dream come true apartment

This apartment is simply a treasure!!!!!!!! Not only is it in a great location, convenient to the metro and within walking distance of so many wonderful local destinations, it is so CHARMING and has everything you need to feel very comfortable. The sleeping loft is so cozy and designed well so it is possible for one of us to sleep while the other enjoys the apartment downstairs. We were enchanted by the post and beam architecture which spoke of a long history with many tales to tell, if you just stopped to listen... The corner location allowed for photographs of all four streets below. We plan to return to this special apartment in five years for a special anniversary. In the meantime, we will DREAM about this romantic getaway filled with beautiful antiques, lovely artwork and interesting books. It's a bonus that it is surrounded by good restaurants and so close to the Louvre, Opera Garnier, Galleries Lafayette and the Palais Royal gardens. We have stayed at other VRBO properties that have also been lovely and well equipped but this is definitely the first rental where we have felt pampered by the owner. Christine was not only easy to work with but she went out of her way to call us once we arrived to make sure everything was going well. We really appreciated her list of suggestions as well as all the tourist books. It was so convenient to have Christine's housekeeper pick us up at the airport and then show us around the apartment. No question we will recommend this wonderful apartment to friends and relatives.

The Perfect Place To Stay in Paris

Guest: Duncan (Salem, MA, USA)
Date of Stay: 05/24/11 Review Submitted: 06/13/11

We just concluded a fantastic 1 week visit to Paris. This apartment was the perfect place to stay for us. Charming, romantic, bright, airy, cozy, and with a very nice touch of style and history. I particularly enjoyed the fact that it had a sleeping loft. If one of us wanted to slumber, the other could stay below and enjoy the apartment. During the day, we'd open the windows and take in the sunlight and fresh breeze. At night, things would warm up nicely once the windows were closed. In addition to traditionally stylish and comfortable furnishings, the lighting at night is very warm and inviting. Given its convenient location, we'd often stop in during late afternoon, take a power nap, and then head back out to enjoy Paris at night. For those who need internet (and I'm one of them), the WiFi worked great. Internet was fast and responsive. The Pyramides Metro stop is a 1 minute walk away. Via Metro, it seemed that every place we wished to visit was no more than 30 minutes away. The Louvre is within comfortable walking distance, as is the Opera. Plenty of bistros and cafes are nearby for convenient enjoyment. The owner is very friendly, charming, and helpful. Her recommendations were excellent and we ended our trip with a thoroughly memorable and dazzling dinner experience thanks to her suggestion. Without a doubt, I'd stay here again. Just thinking about this apartment brings a smile to my face.

Very Charming!

I have stayed at this charming, antique-filled apartment several times. The location is wonderful and extremely convenient --- close to the metro, the Louvre, Opera Garnier, groceries, patisseries/boulangeries, and an easy stroll to the Left Bank. In addition to the very good and abundant restaurants in the surrounding area, I love the proximity of The Palais Royal gardens --- a beautiful, serene atmosphere in which to relax at the end of the day. The owner, Christine, could not be more delightful and thoughtful. I will continue to rent this apartment and pretend to be a Parisienne for as many years as possible!

Threre is not a more perfect place to stay in Paris than this most charming, comfortable and "oh so French" apartment. The location is convenient, the decor is beautiful and Christine is a joy! My adult son and I stayed here for one week and we couldn't have been happier. The sleepiong loft provided the appreciated privacy. What a pleasure to come "home" to beautiful books and relaxing surroundings. You will feel so lucky each day you return and so thankful you are not in a hotel! I hope to return again some day to Paris and I wouldn't even consider staying somewhere else! I could easily settle in and stay forever!

Our family of 4 stayed in Christine's delightful apartment in July 2010. It is even more gorgeous than the photos. It is exquisitely decorated with beautiful paintings, furniture, and a wonderful selection of books. We felt like privileged family friends as we enjoyed a home away from home. The location is fantastic -we walked almost everywhere but the metro is handy too. Cheap places to eat on every corner, Monoprix supermarket a few minutes walk away and some great restaurants also within walking distance (Christine helpfully recommended her favourites) I would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to return to Paris

We stayed here in August, really enjoyed it and definitely will return on our next trip to Paris. The apartment is very close to the metro and Louvre, centrally located and the shuttle bus from the airport has a stop closeby which makes ground transport super easy. The neighborhood is very charming and has a grocery store nearby along with shops and restaurants and cafes. The apartment is fully and very tastefully furnished and has everything you need to cook, relax and unwind after a long day of sightseeing. It does not feel like a rental at all and there is plenty of room. Great apartment, great value and great people to deal with. I have no complaints whatsoever.

My wife and I spent three enjoyable and comfortable weeks in Christines lovely French style apartment. The location was excellent, walking distance to the National Opera House, Rue de Rivioli, Notre Dame. The Monoprix supermarket, restaurants, and any store needed are right in the neighborhood. The king size bed was extremly comfortable with linen supplied and a library with both tour and reading books. In addition the couch converted into an additional bed. The apartment exceeded our expectations. Thanks to Christine for her hospitality.

I highly recommend this apartment. My wife and I (and an occasional visitor) have stayed here twice in the past 3 years--for one month the first time (September 2004) and for two weeks the second time (June 2007). If you like the Louvre and the Comedie Francaise, the rue de la Paix and the Opera Garnier, it sits between them just off the Avenue de l'Opera. It is beautifully furnished. Christine and her family are charming and delightful people to deal with. You will not be disappointed with this accommodation.

Visiting Paris became an even more wonderful experience thanks to our stay in this lovely place. Besides being conveniently located near so many wonderful shops, restaurants and attractions, it was bright, airy, beautifully appointed and immaculate. There was a kitchenette where we prepared breakfast (a boulangerie was located just across the street and another just minutes away on Rue de Richelieu, lots of bureau space, a huge amoire, a cd player and a small tv. We found it to be spacious and very comfortable. Dealing with owner Christine Paul was a pleasure - she couldn't have been more delightful. Her housekeeper - Fadilla - was also wonderful. Christine arranged for her to pick us up at the airport, help us with our bags and show us around the flat. Staying at this flat let us really feel like were actually living in Paris – not just visiting! It was cozy, so romantic and became our home away from home – if only for a little while. If at all possible, we are going to return!

A stay at the Rue Therese flat has become an integral part of our visits to Paris. Not only is its location superb, but it feels like a second home that we miss when away. The flat is charming and beautifully appointed and guest's needs have all been thought of. The neighborhood is marvelously convenient to every mode of transportation and shops. One is walking distance to the Louvre, the Musee d'Orsay, the Palais Royal and the Opera amongst many other attractions and excellent restaurants. The 1st Arrondissement is the epicenter of Paris and the flat is in the center of that! Truly, for my family, we feel that we have found a treasure to enjoy whenever we visit Paris and have had the added pleasure of always having a warm rapport with the flat's owner who could not be more helpful. I highly recommend staying and experiencing Paris in this most delightful, comfortable flat. My family looks forward to it every year and have done so for the past eight years!

What a fabulous place to stay in Paris! First of all location has to be a primary concern and there could be not better location than this wonderful apartment. Just a stone's throw from the Louvre, this corner apartment is beautifully maitained, cheerful and bright with large windows and lots of lovely wood beams. The living area is inviting and comfortable.. we look forward to returning here after tiring days of sightseeing. In the morning we'd swing the shutters open to enjoy the sights and sounds of the heart of Paris. We could not have been happier with this apartment and would definitely stay there again.

Location, location, location. Centrally located for all the best of the heart of Paris. Virtually next door to the Palais Royal, the best dining and shopping and within a short walk of every essential museum of Paris. If that's not enough, there are two Metro lines a block away. And the flat! A charming, warm, spacious home away from home with all the modern comforts that make the idea of a hotel room pale by comparison. We'll stay nowhere else.

My husband and I felt right at home in Christine's beautifully appointed apartment. As an interior designer, I especially appreciated the rustic old beams, antique furniture and warm cheerful color scheme. Supplied with fine china and linens, we entertained friends for dinner much as we would have in our own dining room. In addition to a reading library, CDs and tour books, we were provided with lists of restaurants and shops nearby. The apartment is quiet yet centrally located just a block from busy Avenue de l'Opera and the Pyramides Metro. Across the Avenue is the Monoprix with a market offeringeverything one could want, including gourmet take-out. This is one internet site that lives up to its expectitations. We can't wait to go back.
