  This property was exactly what we viewed online and more - the location was perfect, the condo was immaculate and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. Working with the owner to make arrangements was an extraordinary experience, as we were given information on where to eat, explore and more. Everything we were told was perfect and the owner went above and beyond with the information provided. Everyone we came in contact with on our trip were friendly and provided excellent service. The best bar and grill, which we frequented often, is called The General and recommend anyone vacationing in the area check it out at least once. We plan to return soon and hope this property is available, as we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!

  Ahhh, Amara… how do I love thee? Let me count the ways…The impeccably manicured grounds, the multiple pools, the warm hospitality of the staff, tasty refreshments while relaxing at the Palapas, the easy access to the beach, dolphins swimming by and the absolutely gorgeous sunsets! I could go on, but you get the picture. Our group of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our vacation in Ixtapa and our stay in this condo at Amara. It was roomy, even with a group our size, very clean, well maintained, and the beds comfortable. It was the perfect “home away from home” for our Girls Only getaway. And yes, there is WIFI available to check in with the family back home. During the day, our group’s focus was primarily relaxation. (And we were wonderfully successful at it!) There are activities i.e. parasailing, jet skiing, etc. available for those interested. Numerous restaurants & shops within easy walking distance make this a perfect vacation spot for just about anyone. The owners were wonderful to work with. You can tell that they want you to enjoy your stay at Amara as much as they enjoy theirs. Our group is already talking about a return trip next year!

  Very disappointed in the room, the complex and the staff. The listing was accurate as far as the location, number of rooms, ammenities, etc, but the property was not clean and maintained. The bathrooms and kitchen had a foul odor. The main family room wreaked of body odor and at least two of the beds were infested with bed bugs. The final straw was the lack of service at the pool palapa. My daughter and I waited 10 minutes to get some drinks and the two staff members only waited on those who could speak spanish. They simply looked at us with a blank look and moved on. We left the Amara after 2 days and booked two gorgeous rooms at Capella! Amazing resort with spectacular customer service!!!

  Owner response: Lisa, Very sorry to hear of your disappointment. I was just at the property two weeks prior and everything was in order, clean and properly maintained. We just had a group of renters check out the day before your arrival and they had a wonderful experience. Raved about the condo and staff. I wish you would have immediately notified me of your disapproval of the condition of the condo as I would have contacted property management to investigate rather than getting a notice after the fact. I have never had anyone complain of poor service at the Palapa; they are always extremely attentive, polite and playful with everyone. Amara and their entire staff want everyone to enjoy their visit as much as you look forward to your vacation. Regarding the bugs; this is absolutely not bed bugs! I had experienced the same bug bites on one of our visits however it is a bug similar to a chigger that resides in the grass areas. I have never walked in the grass but am very prone to any type of bug bite and I got them. You could have obtained these bites from anywhere. As far as your bad experience with your gluten free diet that you also mentioned in your email; there were restaurants that did assist and accommodate you. The Palapa is a snack bar and the staff speaks primarily Spanish however they do speak and understand basic English but not to the extent of medical details of a conditional diet. Again, my sincerest apologies for your unfortunate experience.

  This is our second time staying at the Amara but the first time staying in this condo. I can not say enough about the owners of this property. They were so accomodating to our group. We had difficulty with finding airfare and they worked with us to make sure we were taken care of. The pictures of the condo do not do it justice! It is absoluetly beautiful. We went to Ixtapa with 7 other couples and rented two condo's at the Amara. The staff was outstanding! The owner's were also very friendly and offered many suggestions on site seeing and restraunts. By far this is the best vacation we have had. All of the couples we traveled with were amazed! It is so beautiful and quiet, just what we were looking for. I would recommend this condo to anyone!!

  We have been going to Ixtapa for the past 10yrs and the Amara was by far the most enjoyable place we have stayed. The unit was very clean and well appointed and the beds were not the typical "concrete" we usually experience :) There were only two negetives, one would be the elevators....we had a bit of a frightful experience and since we were on the 14th floor it was very daunting however the management assured us there are plenty of safety features. Apparently our laziness overuled our fear since we never opted for the stairs! The other would be the constant pounding music from the Rumba Caliente accross the street which of course the Amara has no control over. I would higly recomend bringing some ear plugs if you are not a very sound sleeper. The bar staff and security are wonderful - very friendly and very helpful.

  I am not sure where to start as my experience was AWESOME!!! Out of all the vacations I have had, this is my favorite. I cannot wait to go back and already planning my next trip to stay here again. The condo was very nice, very clean and spacious. Awesome view looking out over the ocean. Yes, the ocean is right there. If you walk out from one side of the condo, you have infinity pools and literally down 2 steps is the beach. The beach is several miles and also very clean. On a couple of occasions, I was able to see whales within view and another time one with a baby. By the pool is a bar that serves drinks, snacks and light meals. If you walk out of the other side of the condo and across the street, you have complete access to what ever you need from restaurants, bank, groceries, pharmacy, shopping, riding bikes or horses. The weather was PERFECT....85-90 during the day and 75 at night. It was always sunny. The only time I saw a cloud in the sky was right as the sun was going down. By the way, the sunsets are beautiful! One night, there was a wedding on the beach. This would be a great place to get married. Condo owners were wonderful to work with and were also very helpful in providing tips and insight to make this the best vacation ever!

  The condo is impeccably clean and very spacious. When i visited we had the maximum capacity and there was still plenty of room for everyone to be in the condo comfortably. The views are breathtaking. The walk to the beach is 2 minutes long. The entertainment is endless. During the day there are bike trails, dolphin adventures, and right down the beach a few minutes are massage tents. $20 bucks gets you an hour! The nightlife consists of the infamous Senor Frogs, as well as many other nightclubs that are walking distance. The environment of Ixtapa was friendly, helpful, and safe! We had a great trip and will def be returning to this specific condo. The owners are very accomodating and are willing to help in any way they can, specficially, with the list of recommendations concerning food, cab drivers, and favorites of theirs!

  First of all, the owners were exceptionally helpful in having the condo in pristine condition, which many do not, despite the claims. Secondly, they were very helpful in setting us up with someone to come in one night and create a complete local, authentic, Mexican feast. The condo itself is very spacious with lots of room for everyone to enjoy themselves. There were 8 of us and you could hardly tell!! It has spectacular views of the pools, beach and ocean, which you are right above. You literally go downstairs and you are on the beach! As far as local attractions, you had all the activities you could want right there. Bike shop for the fantastic trails that were safe and well marked, several good restaurants, bodegas, night clubs, shops and markets, within a couple blocks. Everything you could want! We will definitely go back when I return to Mexico!!
