Swan Meadow is situation on 10 acres with about 300 feet of frontage on the Swan River. This is the navigable part of the river and is a favorite area for wildlife including beavers, eagles, osprey, dear and fish. The river is about 300 yards from the house, through acres of meadow and forest. Canoing (provided) and fishing are popular. There are magnificent views of the Swan Mountains which rise about 5 miles to the East.
The property is within 45 minutes of Glacier Park and 60 minutes of the Big Mountain Ski resort at Whitefish. Bigfork, situated where the Swan River enters Flathead Lake, has a summer theater, several excellent restaurants, a golf course and fitness center. Fishing and boating on Flathead Lake are popular activities. Bigfork also has world class artists and art galleries.

I am a retired nuclear physicist, born and raised in Oregon. My wife is a retired publisher, born and raised in Tennessee. We have three daughters, two who are lawyers and one in the dot.com business with an MBA. Five grandkids are terrific and they love Montana.
Why the Owner Chose Bigfork
We fell in love with the Bigfork area and with our house on the Swan River for several reasons: the view in all directions, accessibility to the river, the large meadow with several acres of trees, the nearness of Glacier Park, the amenities in Bigfork and the terrific weather.
