Michael's Inn is Located in the heart of the City of Port Angeles, named "Our Lady of the Port of Angels" by Juan de Fuca on discovery of the area, and located in the home built by Theodore Rixon, surveyor, who named Washington State's Mount Carrie for his wife Caroline Rixon, this 1905 home is a turn-of-the-century beauty with historical significance and four guest rooms with private baths in house. We also have four vacation rentals, but all are occupied through next year except for Johnny Appleseed. * Johnny is a vacation rental unit with full kitchen, full bath with tub/shower, small living room, small bedroom, and laundry room. TV, VCR and tape library, dishes and utensils, linens, etc. There is a private entry door in a quiet residential area of Port Angeles. Johnny is all done up in pinks and greens, shic but not shabby. There is a yard with a white picket fence and lovely landscaping.
Our Large ‘Bearz Upstairz’ has it's own private entry from the outside, on the third floor. This room is perfect for large families or extended families travelling together. There is one huge room with three beds, 2 queens and a king, and a smaller room that contains another queen bed, bath with shower and kitchenette-in-the-closet. (coffee, tea, frig, microwave, dishes, etc). As you enter the suite, there is one bed to the left divided from the bath by the antique bed with Cherry headboard. In the living area are a full-size sofa, two leather recliners plus a crib to help with infants. 1940's Americana decor makes it nice but not so nice that children are un-welcome. Bearz Upstairz has a 16 foot high ceiling with beams and there are more than 150 Teddy Bearz to greet your arrival! Angel bears, sunny bears, the three bears: they're all here! You cannot do better than this for family fun. We have lots of children's books and videos, just ask. There is a little playground, a fast food stand and a laundry within a few blocks for a quick picnic or go for a swing in the park! There is a Bearz Book in the unit with all the restaurant menus as well as lots of places to go and see and do. There are quaint little shops throughout Port Angeles for browsing. If you're used to a daily walk, it's really close to Ediz Hook and the Coast Guard Station as well as downtown. Take the children to fly kites on the Hook which is open to the public except for the Coast Gaurd Station. There is a balcony outside Bearz with a view of the mountains, so you can relax on the patio furniture, or on the front country porch downstairs with wicker and more wicker. There is a also a peek of the Strait from the main room. Guests say our King bed is the most comfortable they've ever slept in. We get a lot of families and groups in Bearz. Rates in the off-season (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar, April) start at $100 per night, please call Carrie at 360-808-2568 for information about your group or multiple nights. Day trips to Lake Sutherland 17 miles away are fun, or Lake Crescent is a bit farther, and you can rent small boats there.
Take a day to visit Victoria, Canada, by walking aboard the Coho Ferry, peruse the Washington Costal areas, hike in the Olympic National Park, go to the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, see the water life museum a mile away.
Hurricane Ridge is within a half hour drive and is great fun in the winter or summer.
Important!!Your GPS will give you bad directions. Directions have changed due to work on Eighth Street Bridges which is nearly complete!
Directions: Come into Port Angeles on Hwy 101. It becomes Front Street then First St, then Marine Drive, Stay on that road: do not turn. Go west past the city. At Cedar St you will see a barricade preventing a left turn. Continue west on Marine, turn around, go back on Marine to Cedar St, turn right up the hill, continue to the stop sign at 8th & Cedar Streets. Do not turn. Go straight across 8th just past the alley between 8th and 9th St. For Blue Moon, park on Cedar Street in front of the unit. Turn right into the alley. For Johnny Appleseed, continue past the blue and white house and park in front of the green door. For Bearz or our other rooms, Turn right into our parking lot on the corner behind the four story house at the corner of 8th and Cedar, off the alley. Please use the back door.
If you are arriving late we can leave the your door unlocked and your key in the room, since we are nearby to keep an eye out, please request late arrival preparation.
