Michael's Inn is Located in the heart of the City of Port Angeles, named "Our Lady of the Port of Angels" by Juan de Fuca on discovery of the area, and located in the home built by Theodore Rixon, surveyor, who named Washington State's Mount Carrie for his wife Caroline Rixon, this 1905 home is a turn-of-the-century beauty with historical significance and four guest rooms with private baths in house. We also have vacation rentals: *********Johnny Appleseed. * Johnny is a small duplex unit next door, with kitchen, hallway bath with tub/shower, small living room with queen bed and tv/dvd player, small separate bedroom with full bed, and laundry room. TV, VCR and tape library, dishes and utensils, linens, etc. There is a twin bed in the laundry room if needed, sleeping up to 5 maximum. With private entry door in a quiet residential area of Port Angeles, Johnny is done up in pinks and greens, shic but not shabby. There is a fenced yard with a white picket fence and landscaping.) Our brand new 1 bedroom apartment, Shabby Sheep, in ivory and pinks,is on our second floor. Shabby has a large room with kitchenette (no range) cupboards, frig, microwave, coffee, tea, toaster, counter and sink, a full bath, one private bedroom with queen bed; three twins in the large room, divider with seating area & tv. Another full bed is available, so this apartment sleeps up to seven for daily or weekly use.

Our Large ‘Bearz Upstairz’ with it's own private entry from the outside, is the whole third floor of the main house, about 500 feet of living space. This room is perfect for large families or extended families travelling together. There is one huge room with 2 queens and a king bed,a full-size sofa, two leather recliners plus a full-size crib and a tiny water view; plus a smaller room that contains another 2 twin beds, bath with shower and kitchenette-in-the-closet. (coffee, tea, frig, microwave, dishes, etc). The 1940's Americana decor makes it nice but not so nice that children are un-welcome. Bearz Upstairz has a 16 foot high ceiling with beams and there are more than 150 Teddy Bearz to greet your arrival! Angel bears, sunny bears, the three bears: they're all here! You cannot do better than this for family fun. We have children's videos.
There is a little playground, a fast food stand and a laundry within a few blocks for a quick picnic or go for a swing in the park! There is a Bearz Book in the unit with all the restaurant menus as well as lots of places to go and see and do. There are quaint little shops throughout Port Angeles for browsing. If you're used to a daily walk, it's really close to Ediz Hook and the Coast Guard Station as well as downtown and Hollywood Beach. Take the children to fly kites on the Hook which is open to the public except for the Coast Guard Station. There is a balcony outside Bearz with a view of the mountains, so you can relax on the patio furniture, or on the front country porch downstairs with wicker and more wicker. Guests say our King bed is the most comfortable they've ever slept in. We get a lot of families and groups in Bearz. We are online . Day trips to Lake Sutherland 17 miles away are fun, or Lake Crescent is a bit farther, and you can rent small boats there.

Take a day to visit Victoria, Canada, by walking aboard the Coho Ferry, peruse the Washington Costal areas, hike in the Olympic National Park, go to the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, see the water life museum a mile away.

Hurricane Ridge is within a half hour drive and is great fun in the winter or summer.

Simplest Directions: Come into Port Angeles on Hwy 101. It becomes Front Street then First St, then Marine Drive, Stay on that road: do not turn. Go west past the city. Turn right up the hill at Cedar Street, continue to the stop sign at 8th Street. Do not turn. Go straight across 8th just past the alley between 8th and 9th, you will still be on Cedar St. Turn into the alley and immediately turn right into our parking area behind the four story house at the corner of 8th and Cedar, off the alley. If you are arriving late we can leave the your third floor door unlocked and your key/receipt in the room, since we are nearby to keep an eye out: please request late arrival preparation.

Year Purchased: 1993

Mike & Carrie Millet are parents of 10 grown children and 13 grandchildren. We want to make a fun trip for families in our 1905 Victorian home. We're not really a vacation rental, but neither are we a bed and breakfast, we are more like a Victorian motel or boarding house. Lots of antiques and frills and a bit of fun is what we strive to offer! You will not be renting the whole house, and we are not on the waterfront. We do have a nice fenced yard and three larger units with kitchen and semi-kitchens. Shabby Sheep, Johnny Appleseed and Bearz Upstairz sleep 4-8. Shabby and Bearz have private entries for your convenience.
