Wonderful Experience!

Guest: Iowa Family (Council Bluffs, iowa)
Date of Stay: 10/05/11 Review Submitted: 10/19/11

We rented this house to stay in while we were in San Antonio for my son's Air Force BMT graduation. It met all of our needs/expectations and then some! We had 5 adults, 3 teenagers and 2 kids and had more than enough room. Anne was more than helpful (as well as quick to respond) with questions we had, and information about the house, as well as places to eat. I highly recommend this rental property to anyone staying in the San Antonio area. Thanks, Anne, for allowing us to rent the house. My son was able to come and relax with family while on Town Pass. He enjoyed being able to have home cooked meals and be able to sit and visit. TONS better than staying in a Hotel!! It was a wonderful experience.

Great house

We had such a lovely stay at this beautiful house. We have six children and we all had plenty of space. Between the backyard and the ping pong table, the kids were totally entertained. I enjoyed having a kitchen, a washer/dryer and a separate (and spacious) master suite. VERY nice. Everything was clean when we got there and Anna couldn't have been more sweet to work with. The house is centrally located to the major attractions we wanted to go to: about 30 minutes or less from Sea World, Morgan's Wonderland, and the downtown/mission areas.

My family and I were scheduled to be in SA in July but we had to cancel. Anna was very understanding to our situation and was willing to re-list the home so that we wouldnt lose our money. She was able to rent the home for the dates & refunded the money to us. She even went above & beyond and offered us a 10% discount for the next time we book with her. We will definitely book with her in the future. Anna was so helpful & a joy to work with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great for families with kids

This was our first time renting a home for our family vacation. We usually stay at Embassy suites or Residence Inn, since we have 3 little kids (7, 3 1/2, and almost 2 yr old) and need the space. This home was perfect for our stay. We had enough room for us, our kids, and a guest. The backyard was a nice place for the kids to run around and play in the morning and evenings. We spent the days at the local theme parks, which were all a close drive from the house. The house is also a short drive from many places to eat, supermarkets, pharmacies, etc... It was much more convenient than staying at a hotel, so nice to have the extra room, a fenced in yard, access to washer/dryer, and a full kitchen. We have decided this is the only way to vacation for us, especially while our kids are young. A hotel room, even a roomy suite, would now feel too small. The check-in/check-out process is hassle free too. The owner was very responsive with our questions and made the whole renting process super easy. We definitely plan to stay here again on our next trip to San Antonio.

Wonderful Place for a Great Weekend

This home met all of our expectations and more. The home was very clean, very well maintained (like a new home) and had more than enough room for 10 adults and. Anna was very nice and excellent cistomer service We spent 3 days in the house and by the time we left it felt like home. The back yard was frequently used. We spent a lot of time on the back patio because all of our dinners were prepared at the house. A charcoal grill was supplied which was a nice touch. We had absolutely NO complaints about this home. As for Anna she seemed like a precious person who was very accommodating the personal touches that she added for us set the tone for the whole week. Also, we were with in a reasonable distance to all places we wanted to see

We could have not been more pleased with another home. This home met all of our expectations and more. The home was very clean, very well maintained (like a new home) and had more than enough room for 7 adults and 3 children. Anna was very nice and quick to respond to all of our questions. We spent 7 days in the house and by the time we left it felt like home. The back yard is very shady and great for the kids because it was completely fenced. We spent a lot of time on the back patio because all of our dinners were prepared at the house. A charcoal grill was supplied which was a nice touch. We had absolutely NO complaints about this home. THIS HOUSE SHOULD BE AT THE TOP OF YOUR LIST

First time to rent a home. Upstairs had a game room that owner calls second den. It had a TV/ computer and a few toys. Kids were able to play without bothering adults. Owner was responsive when I had a question. The sofabed was in the den down stairs. I was hoping it was going to be upstairs. But as long as you know this- I would definitely recommend this house. House well stocked- none of the foods in the refrigerator were outdated. I would definitely come back to this home again. Great location- close to Sea World and so many restaurants

Home is very spacious and 20 minutes or less to all area attractions(Zoo, Sea World, Six Flags, Downtown/Riverwalk/Alamo). Great backyard space to relax or play. Owner was very helpful with directions and sightseeing suggestions. My only issue was the cleanliness of the home. The kitchen definitely needed a good scrubbing and some of the linens/towels were worn/stained and should be replaced. A general overall cleaning of items like windows and blinds would also be good. Overall this would not deter me from recommending this home but a bit more attention to cleanliness would be recommended.

Owner response:We employ a third party cleaning company to perform a thorough cleaning of our home after each guest departs. Cleaning issues will be brought to their attention. In addition, we also employ a separate third party window cleaning service. All inside and outside windows are cleaned (to include the removal of the all screens) once a quarter to include the application of RainX. They do an excellent job and we are extremely pleased with their service. Should a rain storm hit San Antonio in-between a window cleaning service (which it often does….it’s San Antonio) they will NOT be brought out to “re-clean” the windows. They are on a quarterly maintenance cleaning schedule.

The property is ideally located for visiting the sights and sounds that San Antonio has to offer. The house itself was clean and well maintained. We were a group of 6 adults and 3 children and at no point in time did we feel a "space crunch". I would highly recommend this property and if given a chance, would definitely rent it again.

This property was absolutely perfect for our travel needs! We had two familes of 4, which included 2 teenagers and 2 8 year olds. It was spacious enough to have privacy if desired, had plenty of room to sleep, and the loft was a great place for the teens to hang out. The home was very clean and well taken care of. All of the kids (and adults) loved the ping pong table and the neighborhood was very nice. It was so wonderful to come back to a place that felt like home after a long day of San Antonio fun. Anna was great to work with as well. She responds instantly to any questions and is very organized with all of the paperwork. I would definitely recommend this prooperty to anyone traveling in the area.

Our family of 4 adults and 3 children stayed 3 nights here during July. We found this to be very clean, and represented very well by the photos. The fresh flowers and Fruit was a nice touch also. We had no problems at all, the upkeep was excellent and home very well kept. There were plenty of clean towels, bedding, and utensils. I would recommend this property anyone that is planning a trip to San Antonio.

What a wonderful home! The house was very spacious which allowed the teenagers to be upstairs with their games, phones, and computers while my wife and I enjoyed the downstairs living room and master bedroom. The kids loved the ping pong table. It is close to alot of the major attractions and in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. The house is exactly as advertised with one exception--it is even better than the pics show!! We will stay here on our next trip to San Antonio!

My family and I rented the house in late June and we were highly pleased. Anna was very helpful and eased my fears, being that this was the first vacation rental that we had ever done. The house's location is superb! Gated community and literally up the street from shopping, grocery, restaurants, etc. PRIME LOCATION! The house is big and spacious and clean. The kids enjoyed the loft upstairs because of the huge sofa/chair, computer, and TV. Everyone slept comfortably and it truly felt like home! We cooked everynight in the kitchen and bbq'd on Sunday in the backyard. We never had any trouble getting in and out of the neighborhood because Anna provides you with a gate key. The washer and dryer came in handy because we stayed for 5 days. We packed light knowing that we could wash laundry. Bottled water, fruit, cleaning items, detergent, was all supplied! We had the best sleep ever due to the feather down comforters! So comfy! The neighborhood is clean and maintained and so quiet. We will DEFINITELY rent this house again because it was WAY cheaper and more economical and functional as compared to a hotel.

Disappointed

Guest: DMV (Spring)
Date of Stay: 05/13/10 Review Submitted: 07/19/10

We rented this house in May 2010. Unfortunately, a significant portion of our deposit was not refunded by the owner in violation of our lease agreement. She claimed we violated the lease agreement by causing damage to the property. She indicated that sometime after our departure, the air conditioning unit froze over. She then said that this was caused by us setting the thermostat to 65 degrees. First of all, we never adjusted the thermostat during our stay. The temperature in the house was comfortable during our entire stay and it therefore never occurred to us to adjust the thermostat setting. The owner never asked us if we adjusted the thermostat; she just simply withheld a portion of our deposit saying that we caused damage to the air conditioning. We communicated to her that we did not adjust the thermostat and that we did absolutely nothing to cause damage to the property. Secondly, there were no instructions in the lease not to adjust the thermostat below a certain range. Thirdly, as most reading this would agree, setting the thermostat to 65 should not cause an air conditioning unit to freeze up unless it already had a malfunction or was low on Freon. I have been in several houses where the owners keep the thermostat at or below 65. This is all really unimportant, because, as I said, we never adjusted the thermostat anyway. It may have been set to 65 before we arrived, I don’t know. We communicated all of this to the owner and she still withheld $228 from our deposit. We followed all of our requirements in the lease agreement but the owner did not.

Nice big house with lots of extras, good for kids

We were here for a week long conference in October and loved it. It was perfect for us. We have 3 young kids (4, 2.5, and 1) and it was great for them. The house is tastefully decorated but there are not a lot of breakables that are within children's reach. The owner provided all the baby items (tub, high chair, crib), which was very helpful. There is a small playground and a tub of sand in the background. The garage is 2 car and is available for use. The community is nice and quiet (gated as well). The owner was prompt to respond to questions and very easy to work with. It was nice that many things were already provided such as: charcoal and lighter fluid (for the grill), laundry detergent, softener, diswasher liquid, all toilet paper, towels, etc. The house was very well equipped. Actually the only items we had to buy were food related. Even coffee and tea was already available (including creamers, sugar, etc). I would definitely recommend this property to anyone staying in the area. The house is only a couple of miles from I-10 and 2-3 miles from 1604 where Fiesta Texas and La Cantera shops are located. Driving to the Riverwalk was only about 10-15 min (we left around 6pm and there really wasn't much traffic).

Owner response:We are so glad you enjoyed your time in San Antonio! We want everyone who visits (whether staying with us or not) to have a wonderful vacation and experience everything our beautiful city has to offer. We try to ensure that our home has everything you would need/want to make your trip a success!

Highly recommend! Great for a family.

I relocated to San Antonio due to a government transfer. As a government employee, I am allowed temporary quarters while searching for permanent housing. Rather than stay at a hotel with my wife and four kids, we decided to try our luck with this vacation rental home. Cheaper than any hotel/executive apartments we found. Really, really an excellent choice!! Great gated neighborhood in a central San Antonio location. The home is three bedrooms and has a great pull out couch. Additionally, there is a HUGE tv/family room with a flat screen TV, DVD and computer. Nice small backyard with a toy slide and sandbox for little ones. Home is in great condition, and has all the essentials (dishes, utensils, washer, dryer, etc.) that you'd probably need. Hardwood floors downstairs and carpet upstairs. The owner is great and I have no complaints with regard to payment, refunding of my deposit, etc. Highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an alternative to hotels. The only two "negatives" (and I use that term very loosely): 1. The fact that the computer in the property had a rigorous internet security program that does not allow any sort of downloading, to include opening of .pdf files. On a vacation, maybe not a big deal, but it was somewhat of a problem for us because we were trying to download school info, utility info, etc. due to our relocation. But, we managed. 2. For a family, you may need to purchase a large skillet/pan for meals. Overall, kitchen items were more than adequate, but did realize that we needed another skillet or two. Those are my only two complaints, if you want to call them that:) Again, highly recommend this property based upon our experience with both the property and the owner.

Date of Stay: 11/16/08 Review Submitted: 12/17/08

The property was perfect for our needs. The house itself is quite nice, nicely decorated with beautiful counter tops and bathrooms. The beds were very comfortable. Washer and drier with soap provided was a life savor. The layout was great, allowing for privacy for more than one family. The location was also great, not far from all tourist attractions and local shopping such as grocery and miscellaneous needs. Gated community offered a feeling of safety. The house itself ie. bathrooms, kitchen etc was very clean and well kept however a little more attention to cleaning long-term things like blinds and windows was definitely needed. Overall that would not deter me from recommending this property.
