Vacation in our cozy farmhouse here in the beautiful High Country of Avery County. Our farmhouse provides lots of nostalgia and plenty of comfort! Enjoy the front porch rocking chairs as you listen to the nearby stream and sounds of nature. Or, move to the back porch and enjoy the 5 person hot tub! Lots of yard for your enjoyment including a swing and outdoor barbeque pit. Inside you will find many modern conveniences along with choice antique furnishings in each room. All rooms are light and airy with personal touches for your comfort and enjoyment. Just a mile away you will find charming antique stores and restaurants.
Ski Beech and Sugar Mountain ski resorts are only 15 minutes away. Just 5 miles away is Roan Mountain State Park offering many outdoor activities. Just a couple miles away is Elk River Falls where you will find picnic areas, hiking, swimming and fishing opportunities. Lees McRae College is 15 minutes away in Banner Elk and offers live theatre performances suitable for all ages. Golfing is available to the public only 7 minutes away at Mountain Glen Golf Course. Don't forget to visit the Mile High Swinging Bridge at Grandfather Mountain, only 20 minutes away! Also, access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is only 20 minutes away. For more shopping choices, travel just 30 minutes to Boone or an additional 15 minutes for outlet shopping in Blowing Rock.
If you're a Nascar fan, you'll want to visit nearby Bristol Motor Speedway. Many activities are offered in Avery County throughout the year, including craft fairs, the famous Highland Games each July at Grandfather Mountain and the Wooly Worm Festival each October in Banner Elk. Plus for the ladies, Linville and Banner Elk offer various spa services!

Why the Owner Chose Banner Elk
The vacation rental property actually joins our personal property so when it became available a couple of years ago it just made sense to purchase it. We are close by if any of our guests need anything, but far enough away for their privacy.
The Unique Benefits at this House
This farm house is overflowing with nostalgia. Plus, we have furnished the home with many of our favorite antique pieces to keep the farmhouse theme intact. It's just a very comfortable, light and airy house that is very inviting.

Since the High Country of North Carolina is a tourist area, we thought we would like to try to share our farmhouse with visitors. We have only been in the "vacation rental" business since the beginning of 2008, but we have met some wonderful people and have enjoyed providing comfort and relaxation to our guests.
