Summer in Windham

My wife and I visited in the summer time and our escape could not have been more relaxing! The town of Windham is quaint, quite and calming in the summer providing a perfect escape from city life. We found a couple of incredible restaurants and bars within walking distance of the cottage (Note: we are city dwellers, so we are accustomed to walking everywhere. We found the location close enough to civilization that we could walk to town, but far enough away to feel isolation) The condo is very nice, and we are planning to bring our friends the next time we visit. We took full advantage of the grill! The large open floor plan is outstanding for entertaining and there is plenty of sleeping room for guests.

The first restaurant my husband and I ever went to in Windham was Chalet Fondue and it is as good today as our first awesome visit. It's truly a European establishment which we love! We are quite partial to excellent Wienarschnitzel and spaetzle! All of the restaurants in town have a casual and relaxing feel much like the town itself. The first time we visited Windham was in the winter of 2007 and we stayed at this condo. We loved it! We were 2 families - 4 adults and 3 kids and it was the perfect size for us. Our kids were just learning to ski and we thought Windham Mountain would be a great first step for them. We were right. We've been back twice and of course stayed here both times. It's a beautiful home and very comfortable with the large kitchen area open to the family room and beautiful fireplace. We look forward to coming back to your home!

Rip Van Winkle Lives

Each summer for the last three years, we have relocated from south Louisiana to the cool confines of the New York Catskills. In 2009 and 2010 we spent all of August and September at this condo which is well appointed and very confortable. It's location does allow one to venture out for day trips to places like: Copperstown with the Baseball Hall of fame, Katterskill Falls for a enjoyable but challanging walk and to the CIA (Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park NY). 45 mins away. Jon and Trish are great hosts and provided the updating of wireless internet and increased TV coverage. Come on up here and enjoy the "Rip Van Winkle" charm of the Catskills.
