LOCATION
The Vatican Museums are indisputably one of the finest collections of art in the world. Over the centuries, Papal patrons have commissioned renowned works such as the magnificent frescoes of Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel, and those by Raphael in his stanze. The museums also host some of the most important sculptures from the ancient world. You will have the opportunity to see these works as they were originally viewed and contemplated by the Popes who created the Museums. A chance to have this astounding collection to yourself just a few steps away from home.
AMENITIES
The area offers a view of a everyday Rome filled with real Romans doing life. The popular shopping strip of Via Cola di Rienzo offers good amentias as well as an alternative to the high end fare found in say the via Condotti zone. The daily market at Piazza dell'Unita is charming and the prices are very good. A visit must be paid to Castroni with its wide range of local and international foodstuffs. There are quite a lot of groceries and supermarkets. In the area you can find restaurants of any kind and price. As for pizzerie we are fond of Gabriele and his "Pizzarium" (via della Meloria 43). By the way we are not the only one who like Gabriele and his product as the great Ferran Adria' do the same.

My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks. The location was very convenient- an easy walk to the Cipro Metro Station and the Vatican. We especially enjoyed having breakfast and some dinners on the balcony. The markets and a gelateria are nearby. The bread and pizza from the Pizzarium were incredible (Bonci). Grazie!!!

We spent the 1st week of our European adventure in this apartment. It is compact and efficient in design, and modular furniture makes the most of the space. We were a family of 4 adults and it suited our needs quite well, much better than a hotel room ever would have. Spaces in Europe are much smaller than North American expansive spaces but this apartment made good use of every centimetre. I cooked every night in the kitchen and we loved the Nespresso machine. It was a blessing at the beginning and end of every day. The kitchen had everything you required to prepare meals for your family. There are spices and oil in the cupboards and you are just asked to top up what you use.unless you are really on vacation and take advantage of the many take-out restaurants in the locale. This apartment is centrally located to all the amenities you would require while travelling: fully stocked grocery store 2 minutes away, bakeries, pizzerias, fruit/veggie stands and metro within 2 block distance. We enjoy walking and were there during the beatification of Pope John Paul II. What an experience to walk through the celebration and access was so easy because of the apartments location. The Spanish Steps, Coliseum, and other major points of interest are only a quick metro ride away. The metro is easy and inexpensive to use and you should not hesitate to use it as it is very clean and efficient. The bedroom is lovely and a good sleep is possible, and we did enjoy our morning lattes on the balcony. This apartment has all the modern conveniences you would require and more. We appreciated Mauro arranging our limo ride from the airport. After a long flight it will define how your vacation will proceed. Not sure Rome is as easy to navigate from the Airport as Venice and Paris are. Highly recommend this place to explore Rome from. We have stayed in 3/5 of Carmen and Mauro's apartments. Only 2 more to go!

Overall, a good place to stay. Close to metro and local food store for basic staples. Owner was accommodating and even gave us a ride back to the airport. The apartment was accurately portrayed as described. Rome is noisy at night so we closed the windows, turned on the A/C and were able to sleep well. Unit is in a residential area, but just a short metro ride to all the main sights. Coffee machine in apt. uses Nespresso brand refill cups. There is a Coin store not far away...2km...where these can be purchased. If not, there is a coffee shop across the street which is open occasionally. No other coffee equipment in apt...not even a french press, so if coffee is important to you, please take note.Internet was good, but no english language channels on TV. Washer and dryer were great to have. In summary, a good place to stay...perfect for a couple. Thanks for all your help Mauro!!!

We found this apartmetn to be extremely convenient and a great base for exploring all of Rome. The short walk to the metro was great and we were able to take the metro all over town. The apartment was comfortable and well-equipped. We really enjoyed relaxing on the balcony in the evening and with the great view of St. Peter's dome. The neighborhood was clean, safe and friendly with a grocery store just steps away and great gelato shop near the metro. We would stay here again on future visits. The owners are friendly and accomodating.

We spent the most amazing four nights in this lovely apartment situated very close to the Vatican and to the Metro at Cipro where you can actually go anywhere in Roma you want!!! My husband and I along with our 18yr old daughter enjoyed our visit. It was so wonderful to know that you could come home to a nice clean apartment after touring all day in Rome. We loved walking out of the apartment and down the street each morning and going by our favorite bakery to pick up breakfast. The croissants were awesome! Then we go on the Metro to our destination of the day...Spanish steps, Trevi Fountain, Colloseum, the Forum, Palintino, and of course the Vatican. We ate some of the best authentic Italian cuisine at Osteria de Moro da Tony. The reason we ate there was because of the print in the apartment of the guy eating pasta. We saw the same pic at this restaurant and KNEW this was the place for us. As we walked along the Tiber River and through Travestere we were reminded of how LONG ago all of this was created...just for us to enjoy! Ice cream is a family favorite of ours...so be sure to check out the Gelatia just as you depart the Metro at Spagna...once you get off the Metro it is just on your right!!! Now for a few notes to the wise...exchange all $$$ at a BANK as the currency exchangers are not the best at giving you a fair rate; go to the grocery store conveniently located near the apartment for your lunch items, water, and necessities!!! We LOVED our time at Mauro's apartment in ROMA. Thank you Mauro for arranging our Limo pickup at the airport(worth EVERY euro!!) AND for a most comfortable rest for our family. We enjoyed celebrating our daughter's graduation from high school beginning in Roma at your wonderful apartment! We can't wait to see what awaits us we continue our journey through Italia!!! Blessings to you and yours, Mauro. We pray that our paths cross again! Hugs from Georgia, USA!!!

Rome Stay – Mid-November 2010 through Mid-January 2011 We were very pleased with our choice of this apartment. It is located in a very pleasant neighborhood with public transportation (both the Metro - the underground – and buses) very close by. The apartment is furnished very nicely with good quality furniture and a well-equipped kitchen, including a full oven in addition to the microwave and four burners. There are supermarkets, coffee bars, restaurants, and all other shops and markets within two blocks walking distance. The owners, Carmen and Mauro, are very friendly and helpful, showing us on the included computer the web page to plot our route from one place to another using all the forms of transportation available. They responded very quickly to any questions we had or help we needed. Definitely a place we would choice to stay again – and hopefully we will at sometime!!

Great location - 2 min walk to metro that will take you to all the major attractions & shops selling handmade pasta, large selection of cheeses, wine, antipasto, Butcher shop, fresh bread, coffee/sweet shop! Grocery store across from apt bldg & another around the corner!. 15 min walk to Vatican City, St Peter's Basilica & vatican Museum . Corner apartment w large windows on 2 sides. Free WiFi came in very handy during our visit for prebooking our vatican museum visit & cking opening times for other attractions during Easter Weekend. We were very comfortable staying here - even provided big umbrella for those rainy days we encountered during our visit. Note for CDN/US visitors - dryer listed is drying rack but also has extra drying rack on balcony. Would definately stay here again! Thanks Mauro for your Roma hospitality!!

The appartment was clean, well furnished. It was in the real and regular Roman life (not in a tourists area). The supermarket is just in front of the building. There's a little shop with good italian food just around the corner. The 492 bus terminal is just behind the metro station (2 minutes walk) and this line goes to all the historic center. So, every thing was good.

My husband and I stayed here for a week this past September. The appartment is well located close to the subway, which makes it easy to go anywhere in Rome! The owners are excellent to deal with and it's a bonus to have a balcony, we often had our breakfast or drank wine while having a view of St. Peters....Overall a good experience!
