Nestled against the boulder formations of a 5 acre parcel on the northern border of Joshua Tree National Park, and less than a mile south off hwy 62....... RokHaus is the perfect combination of seclusion and convenience. While the back of the house opens to an endless supply of nature including the National Park, the front offers sweeping views of the expansive desert valley and mountains, enhanced by spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and at nightfall the twinkling lights of Joshua Tree and 29 Palms. With the RokHaus, our intention is to celebrate both the surrounding natural environment and you & your company as our guests. During our stays at RokHaus we are quite content with hiking in our own 5 acre backyard and the adjacent National Park and spending the late afternoons around the table on the front porch just watching wildlife and enjoying the desert air and sky.

RokHaus has been outfitted with linens & towels made from organic and sustainable materials. We strive to use and provide sustainable and organic products where available. The kitchen is well equipped and the attached patio comes with a gas grill so you can eat, drink, and enjoy the outdoors only to step inside to load the dishwasher should you choose. Beautifully and comfortably modern while maintaining a “brute” ruggedness that reflects the dramatic boulder strewn landscape, RokHaus has fine, solid furnishings and fixtures, finished concrete floors, a tiled sunroom, sleek ceiling fans, and each room is open and spacious. At RokHaus we try to focus attention on the visitor’s experience and the amazing, dramatic Joshua tree surroundings. To that end we have purposely avoided the 24 hour insistence brought by broadcast television and the internet.

We want to provide a beautiful and peaceful place where you can truly get away from it all. If you find yourself in need of some entertainment, a television, DVD and VCR player, and videos are available for your enjoyment as well as a collection of some of our favorite books. The size of the house is wonderful for a couple up to a small group of friends & family. There are two bedrooms, in addition to the living room and sunroom each of which will accommodate a couple additional guests.

The wonderful thing about the RokHaus is its central location, providing easy access to many local desert adventures or……. you may find (as do we) that it becomes the place you never want to leave.
