I stayed in this cabin during the first week of May 2012. It was exactly as the pictures and description says. True log cabin, not a lick of drywall in the place. Views were also as stated. The sun does rise right off the back porch. Even on the one day it rained all day the cabin was cozy and inviting. Bill, the owner was very friendly and prompt with reservations and return emails. Very much enjoyed my stay. Thank you for opening up your home to visitors. Tim
Owner response:Tim, thank you for taking the time to post a response and your reflection of how I do the best I can for my guests.

We came from Canada and just spent 6 days at this cabin with my husband and 3.5 year old daughter. It was just lovely! Our daughter had us up for sunrise each day which really was spectacular! The quiet, serence location is just soothing to the soul. There were a few gliches with the satellite tv which Bill acted to correct right away. He really is available to make your stay outstanding. The pictures of the cabin give you a good idea of what it is like, only it is much better in person! It is clean and very well kept. We enjoyed our time in Blue RIdge, saw a lot of beautiful sites in the area. We loved our trip to Amicalola Falls State Park. This really is a bargain rental and I would suggest it to anyone! There are a lot of beautiful properties in the area but none rent for the price of this one. I was thinking beforehand it was almost too good to be true, but it is GOOD and TRUE! If you rent this place, you won't regret it!
Owner response:Lisa Thank you for such a nice review of the BEST DEAL in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Come back anytime.

Four of us stayed here; it was spacious yet cozy; clean and warm. We spent hours just sitting on the porch swing taking in the view and the deep peace of this spot. We also loved long walks along roads and trails and the wildlife: 3 fawns and a mother deer one evening; lots of wild turkeys, a pair of hawks (we tried enticing the bear but the can of tuna on the deck stayed untouched, though the trash can got trashed). Since we were there on Easter we went to a wonderful church in Cherry Log; Cherry Log Christian Church; we recommend it! But best of all was the sunrise on our first morning there: unbelievable. Highly recommended!
Owner response:Elizabeth anf Rey Thanks so much for the great review. The sunrise is indeed the most beautiful thing I enjoy when I'm there as well. Hope you can visit again someday. Bill

We went up to Bill's cabin on Cherry Log Mountain with my parents who were in from Chicago for a long weekend. It was perfect! The cabin was spotlessly clean and had an amazing view from the deck of the mountains for miles. We saw several amazing sunrises through the window from our bed as well as from the deck. There are several small lakes within walking distance where people were fishing. We all felt an amazing tranquility and peace from the minute we arrived. The kitchen is remodeled and a pleasure to cook in. Blue Ridge and Ellijay are each about 15minutes away if you need to venture into town. The drive in up the mountain was very doable in a Toyota Corolla with 4 adults in it. Bill's cabin is the best deal on Cherry Log for sure. We did a little investigation while on the mountain to see some of the other cabins that I had considered while searching and they are all very similar to this cabin but for much higher prices. This is the best deal and the nicest cabin for sure! When searching for a cabin make sure that it specifically says it has a view of the mountains. Many of the cabins we saw did not have a view- much less one that is as great as this cabin. We hiked on the Benton McKaye trail a bit and met several backpackers. Bill was a pleasure to work with and answered all of my many questions ahead of time. It was a very quick, straight forward, and easy rental agreement. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking. There is plenty of space for 3 couples. Thank you Bill for loaning us your wonderful cabin! We will be back again.
Owner response:Elizabeth You are so kind to leave ssuch a beautiful review for others to see. It brings a great joy to me and sometimes almost a teary effect when I see how much someone appreciates what a great place and price the cabin is for what they are shopping for. Come back again when you can and I'll try to stop by and say hello. Bill

My two daughters (7 & 6) and I spent a few days in this cabin for Spring Break. The cabin was immaculate and spacious. The children loved it so much! In fact, they were upset to leave and they said that they just wanted to live there forever! We had a great time hiking, kayaking, and gem mining...all within 20 minutes from the cabin. I am a very careful shopper, so I considered many options until I found this treasure. This is by far the best value anywhere around!! Great cabin! Great views! Tons of fun!
Owner response:Rob Thanks so much for the kind review. I'm certainly glad everything was such an enjoyment for you and your daughters.

I had the opportunity to visit Blue Ridge and stay in this cabin in Ellijay. You just wouldn't believe the scenic views from the cabin and the overall peacefulness. Talk about the ideal get away! The cabin itself gives you the ideal 'mountain experience' with a cozy fireplace, comfortable furniture, clean kitchen, two spacious bedrooms decorated beautifully, and a spacious loft that will accommodate several family members or guests. My favorite however was their deck with the absolutely gorgeous view of the Blue Ridge mountains! Blue Ridge, the Town, offers all kinds of cultural activities and quaint restaurants. Great experience!

This cabin was comfortable and plenty spacious for the two of us and our 5 kids (ages 21, 19, 18, 16, 9). We had a great time! The light snow the first night we were there was a special touch for our kids. The views of the mountains from the back porch, the mist rolling in the valleys, the deer meandering through the woods - just beautiful. The seclusion provided a peaceful atmosphere. We made great use of the grill on the porch, too. We enjoyed strolling through the quaint shops in historic Blue Ridge, and bowling downtown. The Papa's Pizza buffet in Blue Ridge was a great deal for our family. The cabin owner was very gracious and workable. He went the extra mile to help us with some of our special needs. Thanks so much! We look forward to staying again next time we're in the area.
Owner response:Peter, Thanks for the kind review of your stay. You have a beautiful family and I admire you for your faith in God. Bless you and be safe in your journeys.

We celebrated New Years at the cabin which was nicely furnished with fully stocked kitchen. The hiking trail close to the cabin was perfect exercise before grilling out. We accidentally left some items behind and Bill was so nice to store them for us. It was a perfect holiday!
Owner response:David, I appreciate your response and stating that indeed it is a great deal as mentioned in the headliner advertising the property. I'm glad your stay was enjoyable. Bill

The view was amazing! Price was great... we kept waiting for the catch... but there wasn't one. The cabin was perfect, Bill was so nice and helpful. He came out and had a new fireplace installed when it stopped working and showed where the good hiking trails were. Great trip, hope to go back.

We enjoyed a 3 day getaway celebrating our wedding anniversary and the cabin was everything we expected - the pictures are 100% accurate. Saw many deer from deck but sadly no bear. Bill was very helpful and promptly available by phone and email during entire process. Don't miss a visit to old historic Ellijay with lots of shops and cafe's (brightly lit for Christmas). The food at the Canterbury eatery (first door on right) was the best chicken salad and turkey bacon avocado we ever tasted! Sisters in Blue Ridge has awesome home cooked veggies. And it's worth the drive up to Murphy, NC just to eat at the Rib Shack. Thanks for affordable rates and 3rd night deal which made it well worth the extra hour drive to reach this spot. (Plus smoke-free & pet-free so clean, allergy-free cabin.) God bless you and Merry Christmas to all!

Thank you for a very nice place to stay in the Blue RIdge/Ellijay area. The cabin was very clean, well-stocked, and comfortable. I particularly appreciated all the e-mail and phone communication before our trip, and the local information about hiking and restaurants. We hiked down to the lake and the Benton-McKay Trail with 4 kids, and had a blast! We would definitely stay again!

We had a wonderful, quiet weekend in this delightful - very roomy - cabin. Very warm and comfy! Directions were spot on - took us straight in. Motion sensor lights lit our way from the car in the dark! All the amenities you could want. Very clean. Comfortable beds and furnishings. Spent the weekend exploring quaint towns and areas nearby. Excellent restaurants in Blue Ridge and Ellijay. Of coure, there were plenty of apples in October!!!

We were only able to stay for two nights, but could have stayed for 2 months. Slept outside, didn't turn on the T.V. once. Great hiking. Huge, clean place. In one word: NATURE! Bring a can of tuna fish, you'll have to ask Bill why. Amazingly friendly people in the area. Just two of us, but this cabin could easily hold up to 8 if Bill is cool with that. Bill was also very accommodating, thank you very much.
Owner response:Thanks for the welcomed review. I'm thankful to be blessed with such appreciative guests. You're always welcome back!! Bill

Our family had the most amazing time at Bill's cabin at Cherry Log Mountains. The cabin sits on the mountain top offering the most gorgeous view of the rising sun from the mountains in the morning. The cabin was clean, very spacious, tastefully decorated and had all the features we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were super comfy and the cabin had a very cozy feel to it. Its very close to both Blue Ridge downtown and Ellijay, so we drove to those town for some fun activities and antiquing! Bill told us about this wonderful hidden lake/ fishing spot where we spend half a day, just soaking in pure serenity and calm. Our kids (6 and 1) learned how to hop stones and feed fishes in the pond! We can't wait to go back in fall to see the beautiful fall colors and also in winters as it does get snow!

We had such a great time here, I only wish that we had been able to stay longer! We met my in-laws from FL and my husbands sister from NC for the week, it was a nice meeting place easily accessible to all of us. This is a real cabin, perched on the side of a mountain with an awesome view! We would wake up early and sit on the porch drinking our coffee and watch the sun come up... awesome! We spotted a bear at the cabin two evenings in a row... we were making our own National Geographical moments! Very cutely decorated, right out of LL Bean. Plenty of room for 6 people too. We would definitely go back, in fact we are thinking that it would be a great place to spend New Years with our friends!
Owner response:Debi, Thanks for your kind review. I'll post the bear picture for others to see as well.
